I shot one in 44 mag years ago at a silhouette match. Scored 32 out of 40 with never firing one before that day. Nicest 44 I've every fired. Huge thumbs up!
Bought mine in 1978 still have it . Shoot it every few years . I wish I bought the whole set of interchangeable barrels only have the 6 inch barrel . Top of my list of the guns I own. Hope i NEVER have to use it to protect my property.
This was a Dan Wesson Model 15-2 V Package. V=ventilated. The VH model was ventilated and had an under lug like an L frame S&W 586. I believe the small alen wrench was to remove the front sight.
I Inherited an original Dan Wesson Pistol Pak in 44 Mag from my grandfather. Came in an old suitcase with 3 barrels, a 2, 4, and 8in. 2 sets of grips, wood and a pachmayer style, 3 different front sights, a barrel changing tool, a Shirt Patch, belt buckle and a flat bill hat that all say Dan Wesson Firearms. He bought it new in the late 70s early 80s and it's only ever been fired with the 8in barrel. Overall the gun is in phenomenal shape as it was rarely ever messed with over the years. Curious to know what it would be worth as they seem to be pretty rare and hard to come by, if anyone has any info please let me know, thank you. You have a beautiful gun there by the way 👍
Very nice inheritance there. Pricing can be pretty tricky. I've seen the M44 with a 2 barrel set listed for around $2000. Doesn't mean it'll sell for that price, and obviously your set contains more barrels and accessories. But that's a starting point.
@MysteryWheelgunner Thank you for that. I wouldn't sell it for any amount of money, I was just curious of the value, and I can't find any for sale to reference. I was guessing it would be in the 2500+ range.
they did that cockwise cylinder just like colt because it reduces stress on the crane, since it turns in the same direction the crane locks and when the crane of revolver worn out for whatever reason it tend to bend to the left so using this design when the cylinder is rotating it push the crane to center position by itself so it prolonging service life and keeping everything tight together you should watch c&rsenal clip and see the reason why colt and other did this it's a clever design and colt use it for than 100 year but i just wonder no one did that except colt and few other manufacturer
Nice revolver and nice shooting! Quite a fireball coming out of that for an 8" barrel too. I would love to find one of these because it seems difficult to find 8" barrel 357 revolvers.
@23:00 . . . yes, the reset is critical. You must train to fully reset. If you don't, pulling the trigger for firing the next shot will not happen. CZ can adjust this . . .
Looking at one of these. Comes with the box,4in on it with 2in in the box. Unfortunately it has the pachmayr grip on it. The wood grip looks so much better. Good video.
Those aren't the original grips if the gun was bought by itself. I think the "zebra" grips could be bought separately, as well as they came in some of the "pistol pacs" with multiple barrels and combat grip. Since all of those are together, they were all probably part of a pistol pac.
A veces se encuentra en eBay, GunBroker/GunAuction/Gunspot tiene aveces, pero prefiero los Dan Wesson Forum o otro forums donde permiten a vender partes. Tambien, aveces tiene CZ-USA webstore. Buena suerte.
Nice DW. Those are Zebra grips and a combat grip. Generally standard with the pistol pak. The grip dates it to around the early 70's. I have made several videos on the DW. That's a nice one there.
@@MysteryWheelgunner I have a 15-2VH pistol pack that I bought off of a Secret Service agent in the early 80’s. At the time it had two grips, a big zebrawood grip like in the video, but also a custom combat grip. The agent told me when he bought the pistol pack it came with a block of wood, and a block of clay, and DW made a truly custom grip for his hand. I still have that grip and it is very oddly shaped.
Good morning or good afternoon I just inherited that accept gun and I was wondering if you knew anything about age on the gun or somebody that does cuz everywhere I've looked even CZ-USA which is the apparent company now doesn't know much
You could try the Dan Wesson forums. It's not run by Dan Wesson or CZ-USA, but there are some knowledgeable fans on there. www.danwessonforum.com/forum/
The bluing was so much better back in those days. That Dan Wesson has a glass-like finish. I can't stand how cheap the bluing and wood looks on today's handguns and rifles.
A great pac. I just picked up a 6 inch from an estate sale. Looks like it hadn't been shot. Cant wait to get it from my FFL. Cz makes stainless dan Wesson's model 715. You can still get barrels and shrouds in blue from them. I havent been able to find pics of the 2 3/4 inch barrel installed. Nice video. Oh yeah the other allen is for the side plate. Hey hie was the felt recoil compared to a ruger 357 gp100 or security six?
Felt recoil was a little harsher than a GP100. Keep in mind that grips play an important part in felt recoil. My GP100 has the comfortable, but kind of ugly, Hogue monogrip. The Dan Wesson in the video has beautiful grips, but they don't have the ergonomic contouring of the Hogue. Shooting slowly, the Dan Wesson feels comfortable enough. If you try to speed shoot like Jerry Miculek, you'll feel it.
Who owns Dan Wesson now? I'm sure that the patents are out since a patent is only good for 17 years. However, anyone with a mechanical or electronic background can build one. Patents cannot be renewed or extended much unlike trademarks.
This is a beautiful piece but I have a problem with mine when I shoot six rounds some cartridges get stuck in the cylinder and they need to be Pride out does anyone know a fix to this.
From what I've heard, Dan Wesson has pretty good customer service. Their staff might be off right now due to the holidays. But try giving them a call once New Years has passed. Maybe you can talk to one of their techs on the phone.
I had that happen once. 'Benched at the range, 158gr semi-wad cutters working loads up -getting up near 'max.. And 'five in a nice pretty much one hole at 25yds! Excellent! AND 30% the cost of jacketed! :>) But I found it was not to be- they wouldn't eject! And.. damned well obvious why.
Clyde Mosier they don’t know they said the atf has all the records whatever that means. And it came with 2,4,6,8” barrels and a 3 way tool to change the barrels and take down the gun.

You shot one??? Dude, these are expensive firearms, why shoot them? They are to shoot with. They are not to be shot. How could you shoot it?..
Yes. Those are the original grips.
You had me at "trigger snob." I'm the same way, which is why I'm a 1911 guy. Subscribed.

EXCELLENT video, a tasty appetizer before the arrival of my 15-2 VH4 next week!
The vented barrel shrouds would tend to aid cooling, due to both the extra metal mass and the added surface area created by those air vents.
I have Smith's, Rugers and Dan Wesson's. All good revolvers but my favorites are my Dan Wesson's.
Thanks
Wow my name is Servando too!

Where is your feeler gauge to install the different barrels?
It should come with the revolver. If you are missing yours, give Dan Wesson a call.

Keep the gun oil out of it
If by chance you are shooting 38s before 357s you're going to get powder residue building up in the cylinder. That can make those shells stick fierce
