- Been chasing this pace for almost a month, so I'm very happy to have eventually managed to pull off this lap, as this is also the first time the 86t has broken the 40s barrier. I don't think this run would've been possible without the help and competitive spirit of my long-standing friend and teammate Baba - I'll be looking forward to what he and Dankalf can pull off in the near future.
There is some pace loss after the second big straight, so I will be aiming to improve upon this run in the short term in whatever spare time I get.

Now try it irl
Buy me an 86 😐
@@thiccdaddycool4186 youd probably be able to pull this off with a Miata irl, the 86 is junk and could never do this unless you dump $15k in mods into it, at that point buy an S2K lmao
@@roosterball69 i understand that, but im just saying an 86 would make a good $2000-$3000 car, not a $25000+ car lmao
@@thiccdaddycool4186 i have a slight feeling that he's gonna do this in real life and be like; "okay, its your turn now"
It’s just about trying for some time and getting trust and finding differences between sim and irl, after few tries he would do a good run
cannot imagine being that smooth through the consecutive hairpins, that's super satisfying to watch
Not gonna lie, I'm studying what you did EVERYDAY and it got me from 4:51 to 4:43 in just about 2 weeks. Every second now I get closer to your time, I feel like I respect this run even more, pure art. I want to see how close I can get in near future. Latest PB I did post myself and still gonna come here everyday just to improve, bit by bit.
What are you at now? I did the same and over a month of playing a ~3 hours a week I got from 4:56 to 4:48.7
@@HunterTC5 After I have posted this comment I went from 4:43:8 to 4:43:2 and then stopped playing regularly so pretty much my progress finished there. One thing I can say you have to be on top of your game to go below 4:43... I had some pretty much perfect runs and still couldnt go below
I see you cuh
For me, I'm in the process of catching up, I went from 4:53 to 4:49
I like the placement of the tachometer, like it's actually mounted on the frame of the car

you weight transfer skills are art
Your driving is so incredibly smooth it makes it seem slow somehow, great run
The camber definitely makes this version way more difficult. Killer run. Seeing this makes me proud of my own lines and gear selection even tho I'm out of the pace.
Edit: I was dizzy. Car rotation is purely weight transfer, except on one occasion were they left foot brake.
i thought those were just braking drifts, how could you tell he was using the handbrake?

i've noticed that a lot of very fast players on touge life seem to downshift and get shift lock at super high rpm but im always afraid of money shifting my virtual and indestructible car lol
I'm afraid to bring that habit to IRL and money shift my car lmao
i watched a lot of time attacks with ae86 tuned and shift locking is definitely a very common thing among best times. idk maybe it helps by giving you the most aggressive engine braking there is
Wow great technique, give it a few more years and you should be able to find the lines, very impressive none the less
Smooth is fast, and fast is smooth.

How educational.
Its actually super intresting how rarley you break fully
No abs
@@miner4236 No that is far past the point of just not locking up. his driving style is different from what you see from most people.
on your average driver youl see full braking and then nearly a full release into the corner.
The difference here is how he brakes into the corner to an impressive degree. He is keeping up his speed into the corner way more than other drivers i see
@@leafboy3967 ah interesting. My bad, not farmed the 86 that much so I was pretty much guessing lol
looking closer into it i think theres some room for improvement at
2:30
3:22
and the hell section at 4:45
or at least that's just what my eyes tell me
go get that 3:39.9 you maniac
2:30 left hander is fine, any more speed into that corner and you plow into the rail, the rest is valid and I know about those already there's roughly -0.5 on the delta if I can maintain pace and not lose anything at the end, not sure about 39s yet but 40.3 is doable as of now. I'd say this is the kind of pace that is starting to become relatively troublesome to maintain throughout the whole run without making contact with anything.
and at the hairpin around 4:02 he can shave around a second off if he bodyrolls into slip, that way requires much less brake force and is slightly faster. i havent played assetto in a very long time until today but just running the touge for nostalgia and found that bodyrolling into slip is one of the quickest ways of taking almost every hairpin on the entire downhill. lets you entry much faster and with the right footwork lets you exit with pretty decent speed.
think im going to grind akina for a little bit and see if I cant approach this time.
speed
the car is speed
This eurobeat is so musically sound, it could fit in any RR game, lol.
Just saw this. I wanna try it when i can.
Thats how the 86 was meant to be driven.
beautiful traction control and rear slip angle with perfect line
Are you using hand brake when you make rear slip angle into corner or just foot brake?
hand brake
Foot-brake for initial turn in, then handbrake for rotation at early/mid-apex
Great run man! What is your wheel rotation degree/angle? Is it 720°?
driving so clean i can smell soap
Hey, wanted to ask if you have a replay still after all those years. Would love to compare it ingame :)
Do you know how to fix the headlights on body swapped ae86?Because it seems that it has high beam mode and disabling it in custom patch shaders doesn't apply to it but it applies to other non swapped cars.
I really want to drive like this someday. What assists are you using? How'd you tune your car? What are the conditions for a run like this to be valid? (Sorry for all the questions I just wanna know lol)
No assists at all, No ABS or TC as the car doesn't come with it from factory, and everything else is disabled by default on TL1.
"Validity" in this case refers to the check being done when driving online on TL1, if you don't touch any walls, cars and don't cut the track, then it's considered "valid".
The car setup is right there in the description, and other useful information.
@@thiccdaddycool4186 Does the car *have* to be made by kunos or can I use another car? I really love using the Initial D 86s.
@@Tralnboy Yes, it *has* to be vanilla Kunos without any modifications (ext config is only visual so it can be used)
@@thiccdaddycool4186 How’d you get the body swap? I’ve done the swap to my 86t but for some reason whenever I try playing, it just breaks. I can’t move or anything. Did you just drag it into content manager or did you replace the files like the owner instructed?
@@thiccdaddycool4186 at the very least I can use ingame tuning options like suspension, brakes, and tires, right?
I’m just happy with my 5:03 😭
Bruh my fastest was a 5:54 💀 So mfing bad
May I ask if you used handbrake in the last hairpins and in the hairpin before longest straight? Or do purely use trailbraking to rotate your car? I've been stuck at 4:49-50 for a few months now and I can't brake out of this time. Can't get how to drive even 1 sec faster yet
You can see every time he uses the handbrake on the cluster, it’s the red dot between the yellow and blue dot. He also uses a button instead of an actual handbrake obviously because how fast it flashes but yeah hope this helps😃👍
Nice

Eii dude amazing ride!
Did u use e brake? I’m triying to turn like that without e brake and its impossible to me!

Lean4real
How do you do this without losing control? I always end up not feeling anything with my wheel, it doesn't turn enough, or I don't feel anything till I turn too much, and I have to force it to return to the original position because it doesn't do it fast enough on its own when I let go of the wheel.
Awesome run! One thing i just wanna ask is why is it that you almost never are at 100% brake pressure? I always brake hard into the corners and then trail off but that's very different to what you do and I'm wondering if I'm missing something!
because that car has no abs, that's why, your tires will just lock
so basically, he was not using 100% brake but that's why he is trail breaking into almost every corner.
lesser brake preassure = longer way to hold brake to the apex = trail braiking = higher degree angle rotation from the wheel = faster will your front of the car face the exist of the apex = so you can faster step on the brake = better/faster exit
@@brucewayne6979-i6j Yes I know, but i never lock up even at 100% brake pressure when braking for tight corners at the end of straights. But I get what you mean on your other point, maybe he gets the extra rotation by trailing the brake for longer through the corner
new here, whats the advantage of overreving in some corner entry instead of heel toeing? its the first time i seen someone downshift from a straight without heel toeing
rear brake
I got 4:47 today, im going for 4:45. theres no way im going to reach 4:40 ever, youre a maniac, lol.

What weather did you put on and perfect what time to put in the morning ?
I don't understand. How did you turn at 1:02 without turning the wheel. For me I would faceplant the rails if I turned like that.
Handbrake?
@@suizided Yes, trailbraking into the corner while tapping the handbrake.
On the first hairpin, how are you turning the car without any steering inputs?
Probably through weight transfer, i was also wondering that
because he is sliding, he doesnt need to give any steering.
is it a tuned 86 body swap mod? or a separate version exactly the same just levin
Did you use the handbrake at all during this clip?
How did u maintain grip at full throttle on that first hairpin? I've been trying to replicate it but I'm getting frustrated
Most important thing is being patient with a decent line, this applies to literally all the hairpins. If you slam the throttle before the front is clear (pointing to the exit of the corner) you will lose traction and therefore pace.
This was only achievable once I got a feel for the road surface on both sides of the hairpin, after many hours of driving, as the road mesh is different in almost every hairpin it is possible to accidentally go over a small crest/bump, which you have to account for as well.
If you're just trying to replicate the same thing in the video without having a good understanding of the shape and geometry of each hairpin, and how it relates to your own driving, then you're better off approaching cornering differently and perhaps try to maintain full grip and gradually throttle out instead, or even use a more aggressive angle to clear the hairpin with a slide.
What's that gauge on the right? do you still have link or name or how to get it to look like this?
how, drive. w?
gas pedale...brek
oke, todei grog make drive
how long have you been driving on akina?
Probably since 2017 if not earlier, on other games as well. Akina and their variants have the most hours/KMs for me on Assetto, and my hour count is at 2200+
not that bad keep going
Can u please show what stock ae86 body swap looks like?Is it trueno?

what FOV do you use?
48-50, in the replay it's increased by 3-4 for video purposes
Setup?
my best is something like 5:10 or 5:14 with an FD 💀 I feel like I cant even go any faster cus I only have 2 pedals and 270° steering
I know people who had to use paddles and were still fast. To put it lightly, 5:14 is the kind of pace where the input method that you're using doesn't really matter, if your wheel bothers you this much you might as well switch to mouse and keyboard since it'll probably be better short term.
I’m at about 4:44 as of now. I feel like I’m at a wall! I just gotta keep practicing, maybe I can get a sub 4:40.
If you're struggling to go below 44 it will become exponentially harder when you're shaving off the next tenths. Sub 40 pace is currently something that hasn't even been reached - comparing with best possible delta only 40.3 hypothetical best has been observed. If you think you can achieve a sub 40, by all means go for it and share the results with the community.

@@thiccdaddycool4186 I did not know that you could change stuff and still play multiplayer
what makes it a “valid record”
It has to have 0 track or car collisions and no cuts. Since this was done live on Touge Life 1, stracker determines whether a lap is "valid" or "invalid" automatically, which is *much harder* than doing a record in singleplayer with better track conditions/less strict collision rules and 0 traffic.
And to add onto that, it is possible for you to go at world record pace in the server and then be invalidated due to someone else's mistake (crashing into you), which has happened to me countless times ever since TL1 was on Akina 2017
overrev
1:17 what you shouldve done is taken the line a bit more to the outside before the corner so you could get a better exit for the next straight

why no one uses drift?
How is this run valid if you are downshifting 1-2k above redline after every long straight? It might work on this server with damage turned off, but its cheap in an e-sports kind of way. Not something you could recreate in a real driving scenario.
Funny that you even say that because this is probably an example of me being less egregious with the shifting than any other car in the server, as the 86t does not tolerate downshifting much above redline (which you'd know if you drove the car)
Also, how can something be cheap in an eSports kinda way when that is exactly a category where people will push a game's engine to the limit to attempt to get an edge over competitors?
I also have no clue how you haven't realized that Assetto Corsa is nowhere near "real driving scenarios" even under the most unfavourable conditions that you've described because of the game's relatively simplified suspension and tyre model.
@@thiccdaddycool4186 "Its valid because the game lets me." cool cool. I guess I'll start trying wall riding exploits too.
@@mrs_radrod do you not see how ridiculous that comparison is? Revving slightly over normal but within spec of a fantasy engine made by Kunos cannot be compared to literally flaunting the rules of both the server and the lap

Blasphemy. I can’t stand driving the thing but it don’t suck👀
@@raptorjeezus2607 it drives like shit not like it's slow
