  • It's been a good while since my last upload, been getting back into doing runs since my quick release snapped on my previous rim over 2 months ago. Promised that I would upload a run with the FD, so here it is. Stay (86)tuned for more uploads coming very soon!
    I would not consider this to be a reflection of peak pace at these conditions, but merely a good reference point/benchmark for the car, as there is 2 tenths of obvious pace loss in the s-bends before the consecutive hairpins and some other lines towards the end could be cleaner.
    Temperatures: 24 air/31 road at the time of driving.

    Yo using the downshift without heel toe to spin you a round is genius. It always felt good when I did by accident. It may be more intentional. I finally got sub 5 mins, let's see if this makes it faster, thank you for posting with petal inputs!

    Nice. Did the same time as KT. Tak' s avg.time is 4:30. When Tak vs RT his time was 4:18. Tak's PR is 4:00 flat. Rumors have Bunta doing it 3:00 flat but just rumors. 😆

    Incredible run man, really incredible !! Can't wait to see the one with the ae86t. I just don't understand the lines you're taking on hairpins, I've began simracing a few months ago and I'm trying to replicate the way you take these (as I think this is my biggest weakness) but it's just impossible for me, you're really a master of this game man !!! Share your knowledge with us mere mortals !!! Hahaha . Keep going bro fantastic run !

      if you are having trouble geting your rear out i usualy just shift lock my rear tires so they slide, then you have to be gentle with the throtle so you dont slip too much. its kind of like a breaking drift but with a heel toe downshift in the midle. Its pretty hard to get it right but once you figure out the line its not too bad. Atleas i think thats how he does it

      It's been 11 months so you probably already know, but his hairpin lines involve a bit of handbrake. The fastest way to take hairpins is to kind of hug the inside and use the handbrake to get some rotation mid-corner

    I do want to see this 4:40 86D run as an 86D main, best I can do is consistent 49s. Slowly trying to eek out a 48 but it's tough, your driving is mental though. People describe it as rough but idk if it can even be described like that honestly.

    nice to see a FD run on youtube, hopefully you will also upload the 4.40 86D run aswell? really wanna see what that looks like
    also interesting you do infact go to 1st on the hairpins, I initially was shifting to 1st when I first tried the track but couldnt decide whether or not it was better to go to 1st or stay in 2nd, ended up staying in 2nd

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Good question, because I should be uploading it in the coming days - I can either upload the 4:40 86d run and 4:39 86t first, then do the rest of the cars, or I can do the other cars first and *then* the 86 runs, depending on public demand. Either way, I have the replay and it'd be a waste to not upload it, I'm just getting the FD run out of the way for variety's sake and popular request.
      Also, the FD's gear ratio *does* sort of force you into 1st gear and I find that the extra locking helps with rotation on entry, as handbrake can be finnicky, I can tell you though that on the wider hairpins it can be more consistent to stay in 2nd as you should have enough space to build up boost. This is basically the exact same approach I use for the R34 and MK4 supra as well.

    Still trying to understand your braking

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If I had to explain it, it's just threshold braking with an extra step. The first 40-70% (wherever I can feel the brake "bite") you see is for maximum stopping power, I do the same on both ABS and non-abs cars.
      The second step, which is probably the confusing part is when the brakes are being maxed out nearing the apex; I do this not to slow down more, but to induce plow, and by proxy, create an artificial late apex (fancy way to describe diving into a deeper line than usual lol), at which point I can just use the handbrake to rotate about the apex without needing to trailbrake in the traditional sense. This is not a uniform approach that applies to every corner or every hairpin but it does to a lot of them on this map because of the angle and tightness.

    • @podio_km4g532
      @podio_km4g532 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thiccdaddycool4186 aren't you losing rotation by inducing that late apex?

    • @thiccdaddycool4186
      @thiccdaddycool4186  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@podio_km4g532 In a sense yeah, it limits it, but you should see how that's beneficial if you're intending to accelerate out as soon as possible with minimum countersteer. In the worst case, extra handbraking can be used to compensate.
