The funny part is his appearance is why he didn't get the gig in Journey lol it creeped Neal Schon out legitimately he though Huga has surgery to look like Perry
Resemblances abounding, funny how Neal wasn't far at the time from forming his own called Hardline - another rocking debut album - with a good rocker's voice leading that outfit, albeit, not the range of Perry's in Journey but Johnny had his own there.
Thanks for posting this. Excellent quality! I was fortunate enough to see them here in the states in March of '09 opening for Trixter. Great performance! A real shame that this reunion didn't last.
@rekirenmei Yeah, I know about that. I saw Terry Brock with Valentine last year at Melodic Rock Fest 2 in Illinois. Set was mainly Strangeways tunes and a few Brock solo tunes. Still, the band itself appears to be merely a backing band now. I'm also aware of them working with Steve Augeri. It's a shame that there most likely will not be any further Valentine albums. Glad I saw them here in the states when I had the chance.
Gerald Zappa was my uncle and a nice guy even though I was into different tastes of muse he would bring me shit and strings and shit for my bass he brought Alley Sheedy by a few times by the apt since we all still live in NYC,but he is a great guy and Giant recs kinda fucked them over and was really upset over the loss of his brother very sad not so long ago
Jeff Kasten Sure it was recorded at Firefest in the Uk you may be able to pic up the DVD from there website if any stock left www.firefestofficial.com/site/index.php/shop/9-shop/42-dvds

when i first saw this video i was like WTF ??? when the hell Journey's Steve Perry was singing in Valentine ... then i realized it's Hugo, but really, they're like clones :D
Completely sucks without the original drummer Neil Christopher. This idiot just bops back and forth! Neil ruled those drums...❤️He'd put some serious famous drummers to shame!
Agreed. Either this drummer is not very talented or they simply didn't give him the freedom to explore some fills, rolls, etc. Either way, it takes away from the song. One of the main things I noticed when I listened to this album back in the day is how unique the drums sounded and the tempo changes.
There is a big difference between Hugo and Steve P now....Steve cannot hit those high notes at all. Don't get me wrong...I love Steve but age catches up with us all!
Debra Duncan you’re so wrong airhead and making dumb assumptions. SP’s singing higher notes on his 2018 album Traces. Dimwit. Why even bring up SP, it’s not even his song or Journey’s.
Has Hugo ever tried to NOT look and sound exactly like Steve Perry? The guy is a great talent, but man it's like he is trying to be Perry's twin his whole career.
This is long after your comment but he said in an interview a year ago that he even tried dying his hair blonde, adding more rasp and still couldn't escape the comparisons
Sorry to comment on a post over 6 years old, but to be fair to Hugo, he has been performing with Voyage (the Journey cover band) for so long I think he has lost "his" voice and sounds more like early Perry. I like both singers, Perry and Valenti. We'll never get Steve Perry in his prime and he sounds awesome for a singer in his 70s. Be thankful that Hugo can sing the songs close to Steve and enjoy the music
Great song, brilliant singer and Adam Holland playing the Les Paul Custom is a great guitarist too.
Old but gold
Valentine is one of my favorite bands...
Que temazo, que discazo!!!
Una lastima que tengan solo dos discos!!!!!!!
What a Brilliant AOR Ballad.
Hugo with the magic voice love how he finishes the songs, sends goose bumps through my body.
Looks and sounds like Steve Perry of Journey. Sweet voice in a beautiful song.
Hugo looks very much with Steve Perry, phisically and the way he sings. And the guitar player looks like Neal Schon.
The funny part is his appearance is why he didn't get the gig in Journey lol it creeped Neal Schon out legitimately he though Huga has surgery to look like Perry
I was fixing to say the same thing. They resemble so much!
Resemblances abounding, funny how Neal wasn't far at the time from forming his own called Hardline - another rocking debut album - with a good rocker's voice leading that outfit, albeit, not the range of Perry's in Journey but Johnny had his own there.
World class aor song
Oh man - brings back memories!!!

Tri tra trullala lula lalla trulla
Even the sound of his voice there is a similarity of Steve Perry.
Looks like Steve Perry
Pillie dallie knakay
Not the full original lineup?
It's a brillliant song - even though it sounds a bit lame here... But I do love ValentineJourney and HugoSteve ;)
ESTEVE PERRY....
Totally resembles Steve Perry
sounds like spanish but fukkin magic

True bassist don't use picks. They play with their fingers and ONLY use picks for staccato.
Has Hugo ever tried to NOT look and sound exactly like Steve Perry? The guy is a great talent, but man it's like he is trying to be Perry's twin his whole career.
dont be so judgemental just enjoy the music
