I accidentally went to watch NBK in the movie theater on LSD. It turned out to be the right choice 🤣. However, when the credits started rolling after the Rodney Dangerfield scene we were pissed because we thought the movie was only 15 minutes long!
That movie came out in the mid 90s. You don't look a day over 30. Did you see it when you were 6? Do you live in Austin or LA where they screen the movie still?
@@acetate909 nope I saw it back around 1996 when I was 18. We tried to go to Pulp Fiction but it was sold out. We had no idea what NBK was. Just picked it randomly.
@@pcproffy Right on. I was 15 when they both came out and was just a little young to get in. I saw it on DVD a few years later though I have seen Pulp Fiction in theaters since. You look great for 40 btw, though you probably get that all the time.
True Romance and Natural Born Killers are essentially the same script. They're both modern day Bonnie and Clyde stories written by Tarantino, but the final films play very differently. Tony Scott turned the script for True Romance into a straight forward crime movie with cute music and a happy ending. I've always felt that it's too shiny and sanitized to be a truly effecting film. Scott wasn't able to capture the stylized grittiness of Tarantino's imagery on screen. I liked the movie, but it's less than the sum of it's parts. I would argue that it would have been much better had it been directed by Tarantino. Stone took the script for Natural Born Killers to a surreally dark place that worked well with the material. I feel like he elevate the words to something more. Tarantino would have made a different movie with the script, but I'm not confident that he would have made a better movie.
@@coreycox2345 Tarantino is a polarizing artist. I understand why people connect with his work at different levels. I think he's a genius and believe that his filmography belongs in the same category as the greatest directors to ever do it. I also appreciate the argument that he's a derivative stylist who collages better artists work onto the screen, but that doesn't mean he's not an genius. If I were ranking Natural Born Killers against Tarantino's films it would probably be near the bottom although it's my favorite Tarantino script not directed by Tarantino.
Mickey is light and dark with Mallory. The two of them together are yin and yang both sides of the coin. Their love when combined can conquer all because it encompasses all, good, evil, laughter and dark.
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watch this film Mickey wears the white outfit in the opening dinner scene, that maybe why he’s dressed in white during the anime bit
@@aptony4795 Movie makes me fucking sick to my stomach when I watch it, that's why I fucking love it. The colors, especially the green makes me want to puke. Oliver Stone is one of my heroes. The guy is a legend.

One the best films of the modern era of cinema. There are so many levels to it. Oliver Stone is a genius
Stone made this far better than Tarantino would have. No offence Quentin.
The best movie of the 90s. It should be called the prophecy. This movie told the future
I love the movie, i love the direction of Oliver Stone

True Romance is a modern classic and I appreciate the way the film was directed by Tony Scott. I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
I love hearing Oliver stone talking about nbk. Really insightful

I admire Tarantinos work alot, but this film was better off with Oliver Stone directing. I wasn't willing to admit that at 16, but I totally am now.
Totally agree
Sometimes Tarantino being an idiot. NBK is a masterpiece movie! One the best 90's movie and one of the best movie of all time! Uniq movie!

Such a brilliant film!
3:16 What he mean? Mickey is a feminist? Wtf!? 😅
And yeah what is symbolises yin yang and snakes?
Oliver seemed to swerve the question about the yin Yang eating and tattoo he wears
When is he making another movie?
He is so right about capitalism and filling people with murders and not much else. How can it developed or end into?
Love Oliver Stone but the interviewer sounded way too nervous
Quentin Tarantino's version was way better!
You can find the original screenplay online and it's available to buy and it's Amazing!
It would been better Tarantino would of directed it
Wrong. It would’ve been some black exploitation film.
@@THEBANDIT7979 what’s wrong with that ?
