I think he's at his prime now with the winery dogs. I absolutely love that band. he's always been one of my favorites. someone who has been consistently incredible
Franklin is great, but his current drumme, Mike Bennet, is WORLD class. I went to both of the Winery Dogs, Dog Camps, and saw Mike play up close and personal in Richies solo band and that guy is absolutely phenomenal.

Yea Gods, I think I would have given a kidney to see a young Richie Kotzen solo like this! I saw The Winery Dogs at Variety in Atlanta--where the whole, mainly musician crowd stood up for the entire concert!--and, yes, they were superb! But the whole time I kept thinking how much better it would have been to have heard Richie solo, without all the bass and drum flourishes, so you could hear more Richie singing and playing, more pure Richie raw talent and soulfulness! Not that I don't love Sheehan and Portnoy, mind you--I just know the "Shape of Things" I could have heard!
voice better? uhauhahuauh omg dude, he had a health issue on his throat in 2012 and affected his voice a lot. Back then he had more power and range to sing
@@tudobem12 The Winery Dogs Unleashed in Japan was probably was of Richies best lives performances ever. I don’t think he hit a bad note that whole show. If the voice problem was in 2012 I don’t see any evidence it hurt his range or power long term at all.
Drummer was crisp, solid, precise, and a strong force next to Richie... funny he hit so hard that his stick flew out... great recovery though...👍...wish the bass had been mic'ed/mixed as well as Richie and the drummer

Kudos to the man for kicking the drugs and achieving his true potential.
Plus, the dis-ability to perform with his "fender" "stratocaster signature"....i'm noticing that anytime he's playing with the strat', the Set is desastrous as far as the guitar is concerned....
think that in this concert he is more set as the main star plus want to show what he got, so he was all over the places and even his singing is much full of energy compared to his latest performances which is more laid back and enjoying the playing.
Richie is the best singing guitar player & the best guitar playing singer
