Sean these triad videos are so great you explain them so well. I've watched countless vids on here on the topic and I've been lost. Thanks for helping. Please continue with these. Bottom strings if possible. Phil Collins in the air tonight for example
Great lesson. Also worth trying this over an open A string for an A minor sound. ( aeolian ) Playing the same pattern with C and D triads over an open A string will give a Dorian sound. Think Santana.
you explain the triads so PERFECT........THANK YOU!!
Thanks for the triad lesson. Very helpful!!
Thanks for the lesson. I'm still geeking over your lesson on using the steps.
The good old, sexy, Winston Churchill sauce. That some good improv. Great info as usual. Thanks for opening my mind and fretboard.
It's amazing how you are able to break down an exercise into easy to understand language that others complicate.
Loved the shade on the CAGED theory cork sniffers. My thoughts exactly. Cheers, and Thank You !
Not to start something but yeah, CAGED never worked for me (Sorry Ian) until I literally just started mixing the traditional and 3nps shapes of the major scale and noticed that all of the 1, 3 5 and inversions fell into the Triad shapes, then I played around with them and after a while I started trying to make bigger Triad shapes with 4 notes and then BOOM I noticed I was making the CAGED shapes and I was like "Ooooooooh" lmao.
Great lesson 🎸👍
This is great. You make easy what a lot of people over complicate
Love you! Cheers and thanks Sean
Happy to help!
Excellent lesson, as always! Thank you, Sean! One thing... and I know it was a casual aside at 6:34... but as someone who once made his living designing album covers... please don't use midjourney to create your album art. Find a human. You know how you're grateful when someone gives you a shot at making music for even a little bit of money? That's how it is for designers and illustrators, too. Again, I know it was an aside, but I'll use any opportunity to ask for solidarity among artists! OK, I'll see myself out. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant thanks..
Great stuff! You should show a little tab in the upper right so we see where your fingers are exactly for the triad. sometimes hard read yur fingers.
great triad video
I so agree with you on the caged system; don't know why but I loves me some triads!!!! thanks and greetings to Sir Winston Churchill....lol
A navigation Video. The Hendrick shape navigating the 145. The Hendrick shape navigating the 623. Pattern 2 to pattern 4 to pattern 5.

@@gabrielanthony7874 Play any triad on strings 123 or 234. Slide up 5 fronts and 7 frats and that's the 145.
@@gabrielanthony7874 The major triad will be the root the third. the fifth. The 4 will be the 46, root. The 5 will be the 572.
Nice to see the old Sean Daniel back
Winston Churchill couldn't have explained triads better. He always a 1-3-5 guy!
If someone would take the time to explain what the problem is with the CAGED system and what system replaces it that is is easier or better, then maybe I would follow suit. The CAGED system is about shapes, and it is not easy to see the shapes all up the fretboard when I see a guitarist playing triads, but I always felt that there is something familar about the way a guitarist held his fingers even though I did not understand what he was playing. But now that I have become more familiar with the CAGED system, I think I make the connection.
A excellent example of a triad solo is Louie Sheldon's last train to Clarksville solo. Yes he is a brilliant gutiarest.
It is indeed an excellent example. There is a great video on his channel where he shows how he played it.
Dude is definitely cage curious, all the signs are there.
Pretty damn good video, one question…..how many beers 🍻 did you have just prior to making this video lesson? …🤣🤣……
Hendrix navigation. Switching up that Hendricks e major shape. Turning it into D major. Switching up that Hendrick's A minor shape. Turning it into D minor. Navigating. Is flying up and down the fretboard. Playing the 145. Playing the 135. Playing the 145 minor 3. playing the 1645.
Hi Sean you are the second person I notice that use the pinky finger to apply the half-bar.
please more lesson on the whole neck w/ scales ... plzz
I need to become a triad try-hard.
If you learn triads and become most proficient at them, do you still need the MAJ/min pentatonic scales to play lead guitar and accompany a singer?
Miss Sarasota at all, buddy?? Your old neighbor (Nokomis) Jim C.
Everyday!
Sean, did ya hear, Mary Spender is also moving to L.A.
Great video Sean. I have watched a lot of your videos and the progressions you use never seem to use the three chord. Why is that?
Confused on 4 chord being removed with Minor pentatonic scale. Wouldn't that be the 6th? Sorry, if I'm missing something. Referring to 12:40
Oh, because this is over C....not Am. Sorry. :)
You got it! Thanks for watching :)
Funny how I stumbled upon this video while searching Winston Churchill's electric guitar lesson "Keep Calm and Triad On". I find WC's accent too hard to understand at times so I decided to subscribe to SD's channel today.
Sean why play that inversion when the d shaped inversion is right there. I have a hard time with that chord. My darn short fingers don’t make enough of an arc to clear all the strings on certain cords
All the triads that you picked, are fragments of caged chords, same notes
First .. to say I'm like 15 lesson behind, Man!
🤭
i aint crying bout it tho!
Ha! Mussolini was more of a ‘caged’ guy..! Lol
You ok, man?
Sean Daniel Unchained
Baked triads
First position, wait, wait, first cocktails. Second position, hold on, second toke….now I’m gonna take my index finger and boop, ha,ha, I touched you nose.
Tbf, put the video at .75 playback … guess Sean was in a hurry ..! 🤫
Thank you Sean! This lesson really helps.
Looks like in your D shape here, you have both forefinger and ring finger on the G string?
**** . Excuse me Sean Sr : what guitar brand make is that one. !?! . ***** . Need one like that . 🎸. . ***** . 👌🎸🌱💯 . ***** .
5:42 ... 'put some of that sexy Winston Churchill sauce on it'
not to kink shame but ... uhmm Ew! still a great vid tho, Sean
oh, you might start watchin' to see what he's doin', but eventually you'll just watch for the segues - true story :)
"Mussolini was more of a CAGED man" 😂😂😂
Could you maybe create a tutorial of Eels: beautiful creep? Woul make me happy!!!
Mussolini was more of a caged guy😂😂😂
Thanks Sean…😂
Mussolini was more of a caged guy 😂ong!
Guy makes fun of CAGED while playing CAGED.
This guy comes from surfing…
And why would this be the best triad lesson ever? You don’t even talk about voice leading.
Why do they keep unsubbing me.
The pills give you a little anxiety or what
Not effective lesson because no lesson sheet.
you don’t need a sheet. music is all about the ears. i notice many online teachers are leaving behind visual queues and rightly so. visual queues weaken your ear’s ability to recognize the music. plus, you should know enough theory at this point to know the notes on the fretboard. you should know the major scale, minor scale, and the formula to shape chords. if you know all this, this video should be easy. if not, maybe brush up on everything else first and then revisit triads.
This wasn't the best triad lesson dude.
