Die intelligente und ebenso geniale Violinistin-Dirigentin leitet das ausgezeichnete Barockensemble im gut betrachteten Tempo und mit angenehmer Dynamik. Erstaunlich, dass solch eine authentische Tradition der deutschen Barockmusik in den Niederlande so perfekt konserviert ist. Wunderbar vom Anfang bis zum Ende!
It is heartwarming to see Yamagata now as the Netherlands Bach Society's Konzermeister. For some reason, she reminds me Sato when he was directing. I know without any doubt that she will do an extraordinary job too!
Well sung, Julia Doyle! That's quite a long solo stretch, and Bach's not one to let up on the demands. Agile and sustained performances instrumentally too. [Right, that completes my spell of serious Protestant joy about marriage for the day.]

Si elle ne faisait pas tant de manières avec son instrument et le laissait sonner sans des blanchissements artificielles, qu'empêchent son corps de vibrer et enraidissent son cou, ele chanterait beaucoup mieux. Au lieu de ça on a une voix que devient revêche dès que ça monte un peu. Reviens au chant naturel, ma belle ! Laisse ta voix VIBRER !

That miserable hodge podge belief song the downtrodden, the losers, the denyers of life.. on earth? My guess? Bach was musician, not a man of much, 'faith'.
Sí, es una buena soprano, pero a mí no me gusta el estilo tendiendo al florido operistico, casi chillon. Prefiero sopranos más dulces, para Bach. Esta soprano creo andaría mejor para operas de Handel o italianas.
