I am a military wife of 34yrs, my husband served 22yrs. When he went out it could be a week, it could be 6mo.! When he knew in advance he'd give me a heads up, sometimes it came down to getting notified a week before they'd be back! Thank you for thinking of those who wait behind. We don't get to just be cheerleaders for them, we still have to keep life moving forward in a positive direction...it's not always easy.
    Peace, love& submarines

My son served in Afghanistan. Everyday I prayed he would come home. One of his really great friends didn't come home. This song tears me up for his mom and wife. The guys do an amazing job with it.

This is actually a song written in 66 about a guy heading to Vietnam. The chicks rerecorded it in the early 70s about a guy going off to war. Home free honored the female soldier in their version and made it their I
Own. Both actors are soldiers. She is active and he is retired.

Adam, the beat boxer added a nice touch, playing the tattoo on the “ drum “

It hit me hard too when I realized she died, I was right there with you. Thanks to all our military people and their families. Great reaction.

Like you said, its unfortunately all too much a reality for too many. God bless our military and our veterans, and just love Home Free for showing support for our military and reminding people that so many did not make it back. God bless their families as well. 💗💗💗

Good reaction...gets you in the feels. Austin and Chance sound so good together. Loved Adam’s drum solo. It’s not an original but it’s done so well. I understand both actors were service members so that’s cool. God bless our soldiers. Love Home Free. I subscribed!

Rob's voice really was perfect for this, it's mellow enough for the meaning of the story they are telling in the video to come through.

I have listened to this song so many times, I figure eventually I won't have tears, but I still have the feelings take over. Home Free did this song so well. I understand the guy and girl in this song are veterans. So... God Bless them and all others that have gone out there and served our country and the families who have lost their loved ones. Thanks for a really good reaction.

the couple in this video are actually veterans. This make the video and song more surreal. #HomeFree #HomeFries

Travelin' Soldier" is a song written and originally recorded by American country music artist Bruce Robison in 1996 and again, in rewritten form, in 1999. It was later recorded by Ty England on his 1999 album, Highways & Dance Halls.
It was recorded by the Dixie Chicks also. They did change some of the wording and refers to Middle East instead of Vietnam.

This song was originally about Vietnam. According to one source, 1448 US troops were killed on the scheduled last day of their deployment to that nation.

This is actually a Dixie Chicks song (now known as just The Chicks), but what a sad message, but tghis is reality...and Home Free did this for this weekend, Memorial Day Weekend where we thank all our military but especially those that sacrificed ALL....Home Free's harmonies again are spectacular !

I realize I'm finding this reaction long after it was posted, but Home Free has a full album of patriotic songs you would probably appreciate. It's called Land of the Free.

It's not an original song, they just changed the genders of the two people involved. In the original song, it was a High School girl writing to a young male soldier (why the song says it was a piccolo player under the stands at the Home Game). They did this beautifully, I cry every time (just like I do with the original song). My youngest son was in the Military for 10 years, and every time he was deployed yet again this was my biggest fear.
Thanks for being real, and for sharing some of YOUR story with us!

Thanks for a great reaction. Love this video, but I cry every time. Their Dive Bar Saints album has 10 originals, all great! Catch Me if You Can is fun and it won't make you cry!
