Dragonfly Tiffany Stained Glass Lamp Process by Nurcin Dize

The Dragonfly Lampshade is one of the greatest of Luis Comfort Tiffany's Tiffany Studio. Its original design was made in the early 1900s by a woman named Clara Driscoll, who headed the glass cutting department at L.C Tiffany’s workshop in New York. The Dragonfly Stained Glass Lamp that I made is a replica of the original design sticking to the original technique. You can watch a short summary of the construction processes in this video.

Orijinal tasarımı 1900'lerin başında Luis Comfort Tiffany’nin Newyork’taki atölyesinde cam kesim departmanın başında olan Clara Driscoll adında bir kadın tarafından yapılmıştır. Çok teşekkür ederim. Bu tür lamba ayakları malesef Türkiye'de pek üretilmiyor. O nedenle yurtdışından getiriyoruz ancak o konuda oldukça sorunlu. ABD deki distribütör firma kargo süreci konusunda malesef sigorta yapmıyor ve ürünleri ABD'deki bir adrese teslim edebileceğini aksi halde risk alamayacağını söylüyor. Şanslıyız ki orada yaşayan bir yakınımız var ve o teslim teslim alıp iletiyor. Kullandığım bakır ban eni 3/16 (4.76 mm). Fakat bazı projelerde kullanılan camın kalınlığına göre farklı ölçülerde bantlar kullanabiliyorum.

Great video! When you're assembling the pieces for soldering, what do you have them sticking to to hold them in place in the shape of the lamp shade?

Thank you very much. I prepare kind of sticcker using glue flour and water to hold the pieces of glases on the mold for soldering.

You can buy a wax from a stain glass company used for this purpose. You only need a tiny tiny piece of wax.
