As someone else mentioned it’s probably better to ask people to subscribe and thank patrons and subscribers at the end. I kinda lost interest and almost turned off before the real video started, I liked the content, nice boat layout. Thanks for sharing the boat with us. X
I don't think it matters, if that makes someone lose interest, then they have no real interest to start with, for the sake of a few seconds. Very interesting and informative video, thank you 😊
If im not mistaken, the previous owner mustve been a Queen (rock group) fan obviously by the name of the boat and confirmed also the Phoenix graphic at the bow taken from their albums. Thanks for the vid
I live on a narrowboat, I don't buy utilities like mains water and electric, but I think I am off grid for that reason. Only a hermit in a cave with a fishing spear made of sharpened wood loves try off grid.
The best reverse layout has the kitchen at the back and the saloon/stove in the middle. You get the same problem of a trad layout with this kind of boat in that all the heat is all at one end.
With a blast of the eberspacher, especially with all thosee radiators onboard, the whole boat should get rather toasty I think. Without the radiators, yes, the stove would definitely be better in the middle. Cruising with the pram hood up during winter could be nice though, having heat from the stove rising up into the stern/pram since it's so close...providing there's no tunnels or low bridges to go under, of course.
I’d retitle .. not quite off grid. Mortgage free maybe, lower living costs compared to a bricks and mortar home in much of the UK, definitely, but not truly ‘off grid’. The closest you get would be living on a totally solar boat with a very expensive water filtration system on a private mooring with land to grow your food and process your waste. I love seeing other boats but the biggest things to focus on when buying a boat are the state of the engine, gas system (if fitted) and electrics and most important, the state of the hull. You touch on the need for survey, getting your own is essential. Too many people buy something really cheap that is either a project that needs 000’s or worse, something irreparably rusted.
Any views on how much you should spend to have the best chance of selling again 2 years later without making a big loss. Like is it easier at 35k rather than 50k or 60k
We hate the reverse layout, we love to enter our boat from the front, away from our bedroom. It's what we like and love. Not everybody's idea, but hey ho 😄
I have a CRT licence for my boat, i use their facilities, water and sewage, this is not mains, i dont pay the Water Companies direct. I dont know know anyone who makes their own diesel, or lives on their own solar power without also using things like cars, buses, trains, planes, bicycles etc
Please don't take this the wrong way; it's meant to help: I think that asking for subscriptions and support should not be done at the very beginning of a video, before you've given any content. It's a little off-putting to someone who's never seen any of your videos before. A better way to do it, in my opinion, is what I have seen an American TH-camr do. At the end of his videos, he says, "If you think I have earned your subscription by providing you with good content, please subscribe", and he leaves it at that - he doesn't say the word "subscribe" or "subscription" multiple times.
When someone ask in the street for you to make a donation to charity. Do you stand there and explain, “not until i have witnessed you doing something charitable?”
Mmmm i beg to differ….. Your not off grid … Moorings have electric Hookups that you use for electricity. Thats not off grid, You use Diesel and Oil for your engine also thats Not off grid, You use Water points to fill up your water Tank from a Council Tap run Water board thats Not off grid, being off Grid is being Self sufficient, You collect your own Rain water or Well Water, You make your own Power with solar or Waterwheel to generate power, You do not rely on oil or Gas . You grow your own Food etc. Also Mooring fees are your Costs instead of a Mortgage. So no your definitely not off grid,

Them creaky floorboards would drive me nuts
Hehe, I guess you'd get used to them :)
That looks a fantasic price for a lovely looking boat here at Mercia. The paintwork looks great and lovely interior and everything you need ☺️

No problem and glad you enjiyed, I dont see a problem asking peeps to subscribe, its free and if you dont want to thats ok too, thanks for watching.
Does it really matter?...
I don't think it matters, if that makes someone lose interest, then they have no real interest to start with, for the sake of a few seconds.

Love that layout. The bed looks like a proper size which I always thought was the downside to NB’s

Ahhhh that’s what the phoenix relates too
I love Florianópolis !
Nice little video, cracking well equipped boat, certainly food for thought. Never thought I’d get so much entertainment from the comments though 😂.

You are welcome 🙏
Ty for this i can show my partner this so he gets a idea i have been thinking hard about it
Fabulous ❤️
Seems a great way to live , peaceful and fairly cheap to run i guess .
There are a few hidden costs and unexpected costs that come with a Narrowboat, we find it cheaper than our flat in day to day living though 😀
its not all peaceful..... ... there are moments!

If you come across a similar layout on your travels, port holes preferably, £50kish? ❤
Awww lovely. And right around the anniversary of Freddie Mercurys death. Nice tribute boat. Ideal for a single person live aboard.

Nice boat and it’s a buyers market I’m thinking of getting a boat
Definitely more of a buyers market than it was a couple of years back.
The on and offey switches. You mean the fuse box?
nice boat nice price

Hope the covers are not too high to go under the bridges! 😥
The covers generally are to high for bridges and you take them down when cruising, however when you are moored up it’s an extra room 😀
I couldn’t find the link to the marina you mentioned .
is it in the description or is it just me it’s usually me lol 😜
Just google New & USed Boat, itll pop up
Will do I just assumed with you saying you put a link below it would be . Thanks
@@simonpe3trie102 Yeh sorrry, missed that.
No need to be sorry thank you for a great video 👍
Hi, I’ve just found your channel and am binge watching videos! I’m having trouble accessing your website, is it not compatible on an iPhone?
We hate the reverse layout, we love to enter our boat from the front, away from our bedroom. It's what we like and love. Not everybody's idea, but hey ho 😄
Everybody has their own wish list 😀
Same here... keep the bed at the Stern in the dark and have the living area at the front...
Does anyone know the year the boat was built?
Sorry no, but the boat sold only a few days after posting this video.
Lovely boat❤️
Just couldn’t live on a narrow boat way too small
£35k...you had better have a hefty bank balance to fix everything up!!!.❤️🇬🇧
I just subscribed subscribed subscribed lol x
That’s a good price! 🎉
Yes it was! Sold now, well under offer 😀
Does it have new electric?
It is very small 35 is a lot for old boat , new hull less
What cameras are you using to record your vlogs?
We use our phones and a Sony and a behringer mic 😀

@@ThisTimeItsJustForU Defective analogy - these folks' channel is not a charity, lol.
You could buy an awful lot of caravan for £35k - albeit it’s gorgeous little craft!
We love vanlife too but nothing beats living on our canals 😃
Does it cost to subscribe ?
Subscribing is free! :)
A minute in, and I’ve been asked to subscribe and pay £££ 😂 🤦♂️
Pay for what?
Pay for the entertainment
I'm afraid they need to buy TH-cam for Dummies
Dont understand, nobody is asking anyone to pay for anything?

no living room.
There's better buys for 35k
Always good to shop around
I don't want to be a wee blanket, but I've wasted two minutes of my life on this, wait till you have something interesting to mention.
