just a quick run. It'll run faster than this, but I need to put some timing back in it. The car has been on the road for only a couple of weeks after 55 years parked in a field.
1964 imperial with the 413 B-block was my first car. Man I love the land yachts of old. A high school kid bought it and put the motor in a Dodge Dart. It was nasty.
Nice pull! Amazing how long these old Mopars can sit.. get found and run again! The blocks don't lock up in a couple yrs, like Brand X cars. Btw, if you still have this car, I do have a '66 Newport parts car. Pretty sure the windshield is fine. The typical clear glass with the blue tinted upper area. p.s. In the rain, a C bod Mope will ofc spin the right tire on takeoff.. let it spin on the primaries and right when it hooks & hits 2nd, floor it. It'll grab 1st & the leaf springs will take that torque and plant the tires and she'll hook & book! I used to do it, often..it never failed. Surprised a lot of ppl..them in a 4x4 or awd veh and they'd be pulling away a bit bc off the line traction, then id do my thang and zoom..smoke 'em..the 440 w/a Thermo-Quad roaring as i passed them, ahahaha.
You sir are a driver I can tell by the way you explained everything. I’m 34 and my dad and I built a couple of chevelles and Camaros over the years and everything you mentioned just now, I’ve heard verbatim come from my dad. He’s not a big mopar guy at all, but I am, I love looking for power in places or things, other people have cast aside. I have an 06 300C that I just adore, power for days and the luxury and comfort ability of a Cadillac. I honestly would drive this one until the wheels fall off and I decide to get a newer one.
Sounds good and strong, even though the speedo needle isn't showing it. Keep working on it, it'll get better. I always loved how my L ran, although I always thought it should've been a little stronger considering hte 360hp rating. But mine is heavy with AC, PW, power vents, power seat, which doesn't help.
@@aaronloggan2197 the 66 and older intakes are somewhat flattened in the carburetor area, even a factory one from the late '60s would be an improvement, the runners are higher so they probably flow better.
imagine buying a new car, letting it sit in a field for 40 years and coming back to find a pile of burnt plastic on the ground. they just dont make cars that last anymore.
Transmission shifts well. I think you have a chip in windshield. Just saying.
you barely notice it!
Just a hairline crack
Those go away on their own after you drive a while
Yep dirt fills it in I guess.@@rojoperro310
Some windex will fix that
I could feel that shift through the screen
It wasn't even that bad?
Love the planetary whine of the torqueflite
🎵Safelite repair, Safelite replace!"🎶
Those oldschool Torqueflites have such quick, snappy shifts. Love it 🤙🤙
Sounds great and seems to move out in a hurry for what looks original from 1965 nice work 👍

Nasty good or nasty bad?
@@holden4111 nasty good! That thing was a monster.
like the windshield.....kinda reminds me of my ride.
do you drive it that way a lot? I'm hoping to get it fixed sooner than later
@aaronloggan2197 i drive mine daily and i keep saying, "ill fix that next". 😆😆
I like that new windshield
Very very nice
That was faster than I expected to see it go

This one has power everything too. Still pulls itself around pretty good in my opinion. Someday it's getting a camshaft and a better intake

The CHP units, Dodge Polaras of the 1963-65 era, ran the 413 360 hp motors
first car 68 newport 2 dr 383 2 barrel just a thought i would shift out of 1st a 65 mph constantly
413 power baby!
Impressive.Get wider tires for the back and she'll grip.Sounds like it's spinning too much.
The old chaff cutter
This one also one with the early electronic fuel injection?
Nope, 413 with a Carter AFB
Really cool speedometer design. Is that a 383, 361?
413 car. Has a 400 in it currently

You know cars aren't actually made of plastic, right?

I think your exhaust may be damaged
That's normal, old cars didnt have catalytic converters back then.
More like 30 to 60
I was completely stopped. I remember, I was there!
Next time take the rag and the screwdrivers off the dash ....speedo a little jerky
I like the rag there...
