Nautilus lost all personality with his update. The dude was left there by his collegues to die, but something possessed him and he turned the way he is. Now he is just a loch ness monster pretty much.
CallMeN3w scrolled a lot to find someone say this, this is bullshit. Naut is supposed to be a vengance seeking sailor, not a super duper sea demon
on the bright side we now know who send the dark being who grabbed nautilus but this pretty much destroyed the character and his voice lines
Id say you all are wrong, it mentioned he now serves the bearded lady, nagakabouros, so he was probably enslaved by her. Hes now a monster kraken who takes down ships to please nagakabouros.
I believe a Rioter confirmed that many of the short bios are place holders until larger, more in dept lore update come out. So it could be that what is there is just a basic summary of the character while something else will go more in detail.
I understand why people think this but don't forget that this is only the very core part of his bio. His full story most likely contains his motivations revealing why he's in rampage. Without these motivations his story looks blank. It's exactly the same for Varus.
We now need to call him Vaarus, like his Darkin Brothers.

My problem with the lore updates is only that ingame voicelines doesn't always back up them unless they get a champion rework. The best example for this is Pantheon.

I agree and there is so many voice lines in-game that mention "summoner" or "summoners" since they dont exist anymore its kinda weird. Pretty good examples are mf's line "Can you handle me, Summoner?" or of course Sonas line "Only you can hear me Summoner, what masterpiece shall we play today?"
Technically the game is separated from the lore, the champions there are effectively "summoned" to fight each other so the champions talking to summoners is not that strange

They call it mount targon because this mountain connects to targon, so the saying“they could be from targon?“ is correct. Its like saying New York mountains. Just mountains close to new york. I actually think that is is much cooler than he just being an assassin human.
It’s still leagues better than his current lore. He was basically Joker of DC Comics. And since this is such a drastic change in lore, it could mean his VU may be a lot closer than we think.
I don't think that if Kassadin ever dies, he is really gonna die. I can think of maybe a rework, where the Void takes full control of his body. Also, Varus being a Darkin/being infected by one confirmed. So hyped about the expanded Darkin storyline! ^.^
kassa rework could also be him dying after saving his daughter and his daughter taking his place.

Sure, and of course they're not gonna tell us everything about the Darkins. I'm expecting to get some background for Rhaast, Aatrox, and maybe something about Varus and teasers for potential stories, but that's it.
oooh I really like that idea. Kassadin's Daughter takes his place (with his old kit) and Kassadin, now fully corrupted, becomes a new champion with a brand new kit
I'd rather just see his daughter become a new champion than him going through all that, but I get your point! ;)
to add to this idea: kassadin becomes fully corrupted while succesfully saving his daughter. his daughter, now free, looks into his technology and tries to learn from it and use it differently. it wouldn't be a full "we give the same champ a new look", but explaining why the champion isn't the same anymore as with the other reworks. ("be careful who you call ugly in middle school" memes like on eve and galio wouldn't happen then
I'd love to see a Story of Vel'koz itself, I mean, for real, Hes the most interesting Voidborn we have seen, with all of them interested in destroy and eat stuff Vel'koz is by far one of the most dangerous, a Beast with the power of the Void and the Mind of a Genius, think of all the posibilities his Lore has to offer

Nothing special about then because like all voidlings they all want to gain power. Vel koz just wants knowledge, Cho wants food, Kha zix wants to fight the strongest being, kogmaw wants to devour living things, rek sai wants to kill all cretures in the shuruma desert. Tahm is cool because he is a sea demon. But demons aren't never talked about in lol. OH WAIT MAYBE SHACO IS ALSO A DEMON idk

Shaco being turned into a puppet is interesting. It makes him more akin to Orianna now, though I doubt that Riot, or even most players, would care. It's an interesting take on him that I didn't expect. All the more interesting for when he eventually gets his visual update. Perhaps they could add little things like knuckle joints on his hands and such. Though, highly unlikely.
I still like to believe he is possesed by all the chaotic demonic power in runeterra. him being a lifesize puppet makes him even weirder, but the title jester doesn't really fit
Before i thought of him like something Eldritch but i guess that's too much. Also RIOT isn't really the clichè company. they got all of them but with a twist: the minotaur, but his race is pretty peaceful and got attacked so he defends himself, the mermaid, the warrior...and now the crazy clown is the crazy puppet clown thing

Zil main and LoL lore enthusiast here.
Glad to see my champ finally got SOME lore. For ages he's been a champ from some throw-away city named "Urtistan" that was destroyed by an even less descript army of shadow warriors during the Rune Wars. Being alive before the Rune Wars in Zil's old lore made him ridiculously old (around the same age as Ryze and older than Demacia). I always assumed that Urtistan was somewhere in the deserts of Shurima, considering Zil's release skin was "Shurima Desert Zilean," but that was just a hunch. Can't always consider skins to be canon, or things like Noxus Poppy make no sense.
Now that the lore has been updated, we know that Zil's previous home is in the recurring city of Icathia. Fancy that! Jax and Zilean are from the same city before it was overrun by void creatures. This possibly puts Jax and Zilean at around the same age. Compared to Zil's previous lore, the new lore would make Zilean much much younger before he began to drift through time.
Icathia seems to be the focal point for many Void-related catastrophes. Lorewise, it's the city where Kog'Maw made Malzahar a 'prophet of the Void'. Icathia is one of the places Ryze has traveled to seal two World Runes. It's also where Kassadin became disfigured by the Void.
Since Icathia is such an important city, it's pretty odd that we don't know it's actual location/region. If I had to guess, I'd expect it to be part of Targon or Shurima. Both of these regions have had their share of Void creatures (Targon: Aurelion vs. 'The Entity') (Sai Kahleek, Shuriman desert: Rek'Sai) and many unexplored facets to their story.

So happy that Veigar's story got updated. Although him going crazy and turning evil isn't cool and all, now there's room for other stuff to be inserted, like maybe an actual connection with Lulu.
Hey, about Morgana and Kayle, I haven't found anyone else talk much about this, but they may already be connected to two areas within Runeterra. While playing Urgot, upon executing champions from certain regions, he may say a special quote that varies on the region. When he executes Kayle, he sometimes uses the quote for executing a Demacian ("The walls come tumbling down."). Similarly, upon executing Morgana, Urgot uses the quote for executing a Noxian ("Every empire falls.") Do you think this may hint at Kayle and Morgana being placed somehow into those two regions ?
So Zilean is the only person that knows the ending of LoL :))
I hope this means that we will start getting more visual/voice updates like they did with lux earlier this year. A lot of the champions' dialogue and animations are just absolutely ancient. Pantheon and Mordekaiser both come to mind, as they both still have the pizza-feet style to their character models and I think Mordekaiser still says stuff about summoners.

On a side note. I liked the old lore about Malzahar sacrificing kassadin's daughter to the void. It just made sense she would probably return as a void themed champion. Seems like riot is recycling a hint of old lore.

gauntlet came from shurima, Kassadin uses an item from shurima, both kas and ezreal can blink, both has aoe (e on kas, r on ez). Maybe the gauntlet got corrupted by the void too.
Imagine ez with two gauntlets. Double damage + pretty buff arms for flailing them around

Where can you read about Kassadin's daughter? His lore isn't updated (I can't find it at least) with it and wanted to read all of it for myself.
im a little upset because a lot of the stories involved really personal, intense things (nautilus was betrayed, varus corrupted himself for vengence, riven saw singed massacre ionia with chemical weapons) but it seems that many of these things have been removed from the lore which makes me a little sad. I mean varus' q used to be called "arrow of retribution" and now its "piercing shot" or something, and its like riot totally removed the personality of some of these champions.

Cant Kog'maw be actually Kassadins daughter, but already somehow mutated by void? That would explain some of Kogs voice lines with dad, and it could be something like, he is looking for his daughter, but she is already probably lost. Btw, idk if its new, but i heared it just now first time now, but when kindred marks jhin, jhin, wolf and lamb does say the same voice line ( havent heared it good eonough to remember it, i have low voice) but they say something about masks

In the Varus commentary video, Riot confirmed it is actually 5 different Darkin.

Honestly, now Varus's Archlight skin seems out of place as well as his 'Arrow of Retribution' title. I'd ditch this lore change for a Jax lore update~ is he from Icathia anymore, since with Zilean's lore update? ^^; or at least make the arrow a weapon the guardian of corruption 'Varus'(or whatever the wielder's name) had to use to fend off the invading Noxians & make sure this Darkin weapon wouldn't get into the wrong hands, all be it too late to save his town again...

I like the new in game bios since it allows old champs become viable in the lore but the fact everything is shortened now could mean they want to put emphasis on the comics and I’m not hating on it (although there is a possible gripe there somewhere) but I’m just wondering how do they plan to fit in +100 champs into this lore now?
Also, can someone just think what the Bearded Lady could be or mean in Naut’s lore? Is there a underwater circus now or is that a reference to a other possible demi god/god or is it just a seaman’s term/myth?
