Tell your doctor to do a PSA blood test instead. The digital exam is pretty much useless until it’s already a problem. The digital exam is more to intimidate and show you who’s in charge, in my opinion. It’s bullshit. Get the blood test. It costs a little extra. But so what. It’s important for men.
You won't just "die" though. If you have some kind of cancer going on, there will be complications, those are found and finally your prostate is examined anyway. Except you might have to live with a bag on your stomach for the rest of your life cause it spread to your guts. Trust me, the finger up the ass the least of your worries if something's funky with your prostate.
