So I made these yesterday. The changes i made was that I didn’t brush them with egg whites and only added salt pepper to it also I added some shredded mozzarella to the dough.
    They turned out so great
I made a paneer , cheese n veggies burger with it this morning for breakfast .
So far its the only bread/bun replacement i came across which doesn’t suck n doesn’t give weird texture
    Thanks for the recipe
M gonna keep making these n use as burger buns

Next time, use the parchment paper instead of the silpat mat. The parchment paper will absorb some of the oil and make the cheese crisper. I made the same mistake the second time I made these so I know it makes a difference.

I also use parchment... And thin sliced sargento cheese. My new chip go to... Throw some Flavor God ranch or garlic lovers on there and... Chef's kiss.

Also putting these in a dehydrator a few hours will make for a crispy chip.

The bagel looks legit! Maybe adding an egg will add some air to the dense texture. The recipe is definitely a winner. 😊

The ultra thin Sargento cheese works really well on parchment paper.

  • @ApAcVideoWatcher

Pop the cheese in the microwave for one minute instead of using the oven. If using thicker slices for more puff, you might need to go longer. Just check it every 30 seconds after the first minute. You'll have to dab the extra oil away with a paper towel once the cheese has finished cooking, but the microwave makes great chips and taco shells in no time flat.

  • @trudim8933
    @trudim8933 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I made the bagels today and used a whole egg wash and bagel seasoning. I haven't tasted them, so I'll have one of them for breakfast in the next few days. I think you are right about toppings such as cream cheese. It's what you put on it that makes it so good.
I had soup with two taco-flavored chaffles tonight and spread them with mashed and seasoned avocado. I'm always inspired after watching a video and my next project will be the Korean Steamed Eggs. Keep 'em comin'.

Using ultra thin sliced cheese makes very crispy chips. If using thicker cheese slices, you have to cook them longer. Also (for some unknown reason) poke a hole in the middle of the cheese with a straw before you cook it. That is the total of my cheese chip knowledge. 😂😂

I made the bagels. I also made them larger and had to cook them twice the time. The trick is cooking them until they're not so soft. I did find them a bit bland but the Tuna salad made up for that. Next time, I will add salt and garlic powder to the yogurt to see if it tastes better. I am waiting to purchase sliced cheese to make the cheese chips with tajin.

For the gluten free bagels. I use 2 cups measure to measure gluten free flour. 1 Tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, stir together. Add 2 cups lactose free Fage’ plain Greek yogurt. Mix well. Looks like play dough when ready. Flour your hands, & shape into bagels. Poke the hole in center. Makes 5 good sized bagels. I use a whole egg to brush on them, I don’t use the entire amount of egg to coat them. (I preheat oven when I start making the bagels). Bake at 375*F for 27 minutes. Perfectly done. Give it at least 5 minutes to cool. Inside looks like English muffins. Lately I don’t make the hole, I use them for a sandwich or egg sandwich. Good luck ladies. Thanks for your ideas too. The way you know they are done, turn on bottom side & tap on the bottom. If it sounds hollow they are done.

I've done this in the microwave many times without seasoning. The key is to have your cheese sliced at the deli because you can request a thinner slice. Even then, deli American cheese comes out the crispiest because the oils don't separate as much as other varieties.
