Very nicely done well put very professional one of the best videos I've seen through my mini searches on how to unbox and use my 3D printer thank you so much
Agreed. Like I said in the video, for what you get for the price it's really good value. Artillery told me they are also going to send me a discount code for another $20 off + free roll of filament for anyone with my discount code... I'll be posting that up soon.
Nice review ! What about BLTouch pin deploying during print ? It's the most common issue on that printer, if you or artillery have a fix it will be awesome
They are on sale now for $199 from Artillery, free shipping. The company setup video AND the manual that comes with are a joke. This video is much better. One little note is when mounting the gantry if you slide the machine to the edge of the table, you can access the screws from below and everything is in place and square.
How do you find the ac heated bed mate? My X2 seems to have two hotspots to the left and right of centre and when it's on say 60c those hotspots will be up around 65-70c and has actually damaged prints just from the radiant heat. So now I just drop the temp to 40 and use a bostic bluestick.
Interesting, mine doesn't seem that bad and have never had it damage a print like that. I recently got a thermal camera so I can have a look, but normally on my larger printers like this one or CR10 Smart, anything around 300 x 300 I set it to 60 and let it heat soak for 5-10 minutes at that temp before I start printing.
Great review. I just bought my X2 and was wondering if you had a profile for Prusaslicer. I noticed they have (2) profiles for the X1 but nothing for the X2. Thanks for your help and love your content.
@@EmbraceMaking how did you get it to pop prints off without the mat im prob gonna end up getting the mat for mine after having to fight getting them off lol.
Hey! I got this printer like a month ago and I noticed that during filament change the extruder just keeps extruding the new filament for like 4-5 secs and then I can resume printing. So my question is (I don't really know about terms and fancy words) but is this problem solved by doing what you say in 20:35? Thanks in advance!
Hi there love the video could I get the profile for the slicer settings you have perfected good sir I have been using cura and I think it’s time to try prusa
@@EmbraceMaking Hi, could you also share the PrusaSlicer profile for printing with PETG? I tried using the profile from the Sidewinder X1, but there are defects on the Benchy print, and it seems like the cooling is insufficient. Loading a verified profile would definitely make it easier for me to work with my new printer.
My X2 has gone suicidal. Home the extruder, level the bed... whatever... the printer raises and centers the extruder, exercises the ABL sensor then dives for the bed. The sensor pin touches the plate, but the printer attempts to bury the nozzle in the plate. Replace the ABL? Or replace it with an actual BLTouch?
I believe the Artillery probe is in some ways different than BLTouch... so if you switch them you may have to repin or change the offsets in firmware etc. Not 100% sure though but just a heads up!
Artillery3D failed with their dodgy cabling, making their printers very unreliable... These flat cables were never designed for large currents, but mostly for data in laptops... If you making this printer more reliable do your own cabling for nossle . my started having extrusion problems after harf a year, and I couldn't find the reason, changing extruders, until i measured resistance on the total length as it goes thru 2 flat cables and 3 laptop connectors, to find that it is over 400 ohms, also some pins were carrying burn marks on connector sides...
Interesting, thanks for the insight. I have an new extruder coming for the Artillery machines, maybe I will measure the cable resistance to make sure I am not having the same problem!
I have this Sidewinder X2 for a year now and it's a terrible printer with lots of Z offset issues, usb port doesn't work anymore. Support from the company zero! Very cheap built terrible MOB
Hi Doron, what kind of issues have you had? I'm still using mine and it's been quite good for me. Have you tried to reach out to Artillery for support?

Thank you very much for your explanation. Could fix extruding problem after filament change.
You are welcome!

Nice review. It seems like a good printer and I have considered the smaller model a few times. Maybe I will finally pull the trigger....
Thank you! I use the Genius Pro regularly and it hasn't let me down yet.
Hi, if you use pruce slicer , can you share your profile for x2 ? thanks a lot...

Yes the literature is not their strong point lol glad you found this video useful and good tip on the assembly :)

Took the ABL apart and put it back together. It works fine now, but I will replace it with BLTouch.
