First let me say this video should be on a USB stick and added to every Bambu A1 printer. It was spectacular, having just fumbled my way through a first time setup like a blind man in a porno shop. This was what I and every new Bambu A1 owner needs. Thank you for the exact data on the full and complete setup and testing and functions. The only small miss I would say I seen was connecting the PETG tubes to the hot end you didn’t say there was not order and these could be installed in any position as the order is set later, especially on non Bambu filaments. Really thanks and I will look for more of your videos and hope there are some on colour changing and supports. I personally have been printing for 8+ years but never with the Bambu labs software so there is a slight learning curve. Again thanks for the fantastic video.
I bit the bullet and just ordered an A1 with AMS! Replacing my old Ender 3 Pro I purchased about 6 years ago... if you can call it an Ender 3 still with all the mods and jank I added to it. Even though I'm not quite a beginner, the price of this printer was the #1 attraction. Automatic bed leveling, multi color printing, built in camera and app for monitoring, touch screen display, wifi connectivity.. the list goes on and on. I always thought you had to spend $1000+ for a printer with all these features so when I saw this for >$500 I was amazed. After seeing you guys say all good things I couldn't resist... Can't wait for it to arrive!
I absolutely adore this printer. It is such a no hassle tool at such a reasonable price. This is the gold standard of home 3d printers. I would recommend the combo even if you don't want to do multicolor prints. You can get extremely clean prints with supports if you use PVA as an interface layer.
I'm really enjoying mine - if you can drop the $$ on the combo it's great but even as a single color printer the price is pretty competitive considering what else is on the market in that range.
This is the most comprehensive video I’ve seen on this printer. Thank you for showing us settings to help get started and printing cool items!! I can’t wait to pick up this printer
You won't be disappointed :) If you found my video useful and you decide to get the printer feel free to use the link in the video description or pinned comment - it would really help support my channel - thanks!
Commenting for the algo gods. Thank you for such a detailed video, definitely helped me get a better overview specially on how to use Bambu studio and other models to tune them for my use cases. Keep it up!
Great video, I would say I've had no issues printing with generic pla filament even running it at the preset 220c temps. Bambu labs were designed by x DJI engineers which are also awesome devices
Hi , I have just bought that A1 set up and have found it reasonably simple to use. It’s a lot to get to grips with but your video has very got me thinking 🎉
I waded through many "information sources" before I found out here, that you can't input the specs of individual filaments in bambu studio... you have to use the printer interface screen. Finally...relief... thanks
Wifi connection to 2.4. If your router/extender allows first change it to 2.4ghz only. Then connect the printer or any other 2.4 only device. Once connected turn 5.0ghz or auto back on. For nearly all devices as it has previously connected already it will do so again with the dual band on.
Go to your router settings and select "hide SSID" for the 5 GHz band or don't broadcast. Save setting which won't effect your 5 GHz connected devices. Run the Bambu Labs setup for the device and it will only see the 2.4 GHz band. Connect it with the password then go back to the router app to "unhide" the 5 GHz band. Since the 3D printer is already setup and connected it should work.
Dynamic Flow Calibration works on the A1. It would solve a lot of your filament issues with generic filaments, though some tuning is worth doing. Usually turning down volumetric flow and adjusting temps to the recommended specs help a lot too.
Interesting, when I selected it it didn't seem to do anything - but in the wiki I see Bambu left a note saying that A1 and X1 series will have automatic mode and they will update the wiki - I'll have to try it again!
Every courier out there... watch how hard I can drop your package. After making this video I ordered two P1Ps during the anniversary sale - UPS guy stacked them one on top of the other while he carried them up my steps and then just full on dumped them out of his arms onto my porch.
Great video. Looking into possibly getting an A1 and wanted to see different prints and the ease of use of the program. Wife & I are totally new and want something easy to use and easy to learn.
I think the orange bleeding into white looks pretty cool almost like an Ombre style effect. Can see this being useful in some prints where you might want a gradient change between the two filaments. Getting my A1 in September after 3 years of using Enders. both are good machines but just need more speed and reliability now as im venturing into selling prints so thank you for the video to aid in my research :)
Thanks for the video, very good. I should have watched it before i got my rpinter hahs, save me time running into learning curves then going to TH-cam.
Waiting on my A1 to be delivered today, first time 3D printer so this video is a huge insight in what I’ll be getting into. Thank you for this extremely helpful guide! Edit: any recommendations for filament other than Bambu’s filament? TIA!
@@BackDaws good stuff, how’s the eSun working for you? I bulk ordered basic Sunlo PLA and they’ve been pretty good. I’d like to branch out to different filament types and colors eventually too

Great video thanks for sharing I just got the A1 I do have a question if you could help me. On a genuine filament when it comes to unload. When you click on filament you get the choice to load unload and edit on genuine filament it’s highlighted unload. My issue is I’m I’m using generic filament but when it comes to unload the only highlighted options are load and edit the unload is not highlighted so how do you manually unload on a generic filament please.

11:16 I would agree, but then i saw a video of a guy who strung up his bambu lab printer with a string to his ceiling. If i remember correctly, it had basically no difference to print quality. ;)
I have the a1 and mine looked different to yours. Mine has the braided cable (original had rubber) but my stopped at the back is moulded into the frame where as yours looks like it the one Bambu asked users to stick on. Also I got a bag of bolts (didn’t buy it) to allow me to screw the braces you can print. The other think I find a bit stupid Bambu have done is include that swatch for filament. It lost the petg basically filament but if you go on the website they have stopped selling petg basic filament
Probably different people getting the different stages of production when they fixed that cable - I also wasn't aware they stopped selling PETG basic, its too bad but I guess you can still use the colors as some kind of a reference to try and build a palette and then find another brand/material in similar color.
What camera are u using to film prints? Seems to run indefinitely. The built-in camera states that it pauses for the time lapse, and I would rather not have the printer pause because I’m impatient. Lol
So is bambu studio the only slicer you can use with the a1? Bc I have been trying to use ultimaker cura, but every time I try to use it with my printer the sd card doesn’t show the files I download, and it won’t let me use bambu studio bc I can’t even connect my printer to it bc the PIN code won’t pop up no matter where I look for it
@EmbraceMaking Hello, can u give me an advice pls. I am looking for my first 3d printer choosing between, Bambu Lab A1 and Creality Ender-3 V3 (Core-XZ). Ender-3 looks like a better option, it can print carbon reinforced filaments out the box, and max bed temperature is up 110C which gives ability to print more materials. But lack of filament color switching system is a con.
I don't see why the A1 can't print the same materials as the V3... they are both open frame, and the A1 has a max nozzle temp of 300 and bed 100 so you can attempt to print a wide range of filaments. They both have steel nozzles so abrasives should be okay, and in both cases you will be hindered by not having an enclosure and the ambient temperature + possibility of cold draft if you are printing materials that like to warp. In a lot of ways the two machines are similar but the V3 has the interesting core xz. Out of the box default settings it seems like the V3 prints faster but I would say the quality on the A1 is slightly better, especially if you use Bambu Lab or eSun filament. I have a ton of Creality printers and I generally have no issue with them - I use them in my print farm, but I do feel like Bambu Lab spends more time refining their machines and software presets, you just pay more for them. If you need multi color then the choice is clear though.
I bought a few of these printers (with AMS lite) after my review and I didn't get any toys :( I heard they come as "availability permits" but I bet most of the boxes don't have them. The one that I received for review I'm sure they made sure I got one so I could show it on TH-cam
Imagine your negatives all stemming from not having a clue on networking and the caveats of hotspotting and creating a wireless network using a mobile device especially in your case not having a physical internet address to establish a geolocation. Anytime you have issues with wireless banding, all smart home and cnc decices suing esp chips they use 2.4 due to limitations on 5ghz, setup a hot-spot using same WiFi details as your router, once it connects turn off hot-spot, restart device and it will pick ssid on router. Only reason qr code on printer screen gave wrong location as an actual.physical location wasn't determined due to hotspotting so in bambu case China is default
Nice printer but it just takes far too long to change colours over. A simple two colour print which was black with red text on the top added an hour of print time to change from black to red. I don't know how many of you have done multi colour prints and swapped the filament manually but if you have how long does it take you to swap filaments? a minute or so max. Why on earth does a system of state of the art tech, that costs around £500 take an hour of extra print time to swap one single colour? Not efficient for a business at all.

Do the color change selection the same way manually in Bambu studio instead of syncing with the AMS
Why not use the infill as a place to whipe the filament when making color changes. That would reduce waste.?

Well thay would depend on the colour and material you're using. You wouldn't want a different colour infill if you're printing with clear filament
