I guess she took to heart what Oz told her, she failed her team again, she kept everything inside, all the problems, worries, failures all of them to herself while she inspired and calmed others when clearly she was struggling inside, now is the time for her to be calmed
I’m so glad Ruby is in the process to vent everything she’s been holding on. She might inspired a lot of people but she’s not perfect now she’s seeing the bigger picture. In these upcoming chapters I hope we see her at her lowest and the people around help her I think that’s what it makes a great character and more interesting! Can’t wait for what is coming ✌🏼
Usually from what I’ve seen from the series and V9’s intro, the characters have their own build up. But for Ruby’s case right now, it’s a character break down. By that i mean that everyone else has had grown smiles of cheer and confidence while Ruby’s smile faded into a frown of hopelessness and doubt. They’re certainly making interesting decisions with Ruby up to this point.
Ruby has been a inspiration for everyone, but after so much pain she has through, it scares me. I hope she can find out who she really will be in with the help from ether her friends or anyway possible in volume 9. For I pray that Ruby never give up no matter what, gets hopes back and smiles. Sorry to say, her friends are pretty much blind to what's going on with her except jaune, in his case he noticed something was up, he just can't really do anything about it since he's in even worse shape then Ruby herself right about now.

If you do then you'll explode in anger and hurt others. Not helped by the fact that whenever they do try to ask something interrupts them. Plus thanks to Coco telling her that as leader, people expect her to be perfect. That principle is preventing her from admitting her weakness to them. I think she wants to tell them but she's too conflicted by her own pride to do so. Thus she wants them to figure it out on their own.

This is was so good. That last clip with Oscar and Oz was the perfect way to end that. I really do love Ruby's character. This makes me want to go back and finally do a re-watch of the series again. Pre volume nine I've always done a re-watch leading up to the news volume. Due to be long hiatus, and battling major depression, I didn't but I think I really could use the positive emotions I get from re-watching it, lol. Thank you for the work that went into this and sharing it. =]
I hope in Volume 9. Ruby would recite worlds from the “This will be the day” song. And after reciting them. She would find the hope she was looking for.

The problem is among the cast Ruby has always been underdeveloped even in volume 4 Weiss Blake and Yang all had character arcs that both dealt with the fall of beacon and their prior character flaws Ruby reminded underdeveloped and poorly written

I might bring a controversial topic but Ruby used to be my favourite character besides Weiss going into Volume 7. She indeed was an inspiration to others and also a brave caring person and stuff. I don't know what she possibly had against Ironwood but her lies, halftruths that team RWBY blamed Ozpin for, first of all seem hypocritical and secondly caused a chain reaction leading to the fall of a kingdom. Was Ironwood wrong? Perhaps. But he welcomed them after they stole his airship, fought for their kingdom in volume 3, been hospitable and shared their plans and let her keep the relic. And made them official huntresses. I don't agree with her choices nor can I sympathize with her anymore just as I grew to like team rwby(besides Weiss she is precious) a lot less after that. P.S. hope didn't offend anyone, just sharing my thoughts.
A lot of people do think that as well. I for one think she was just being more cautious seeing as she was gonna tell him eventually. Especially seeing as when she trusted people easily it didn't work out very well so that could also be another reason why she didn't. That's just what I think.

She kept the truth from Ironwood because he was clearly a paranoid man and they weren't sure if he could be trusted yet. The last headmaster they went to for help, Lionheart, betrayed them. Once he had proven himself, they told him the truth. Ironwood would have snapped either way.

The thing is they care about the people but they didn't know that there is a domino effect they just think that they can solve a problem one at a time but as always reality rejects that rule and create the domino effect!
