Justking Those are some very good points. I can understand that people are pretty on edge about the ships that are becoming a possibility already, but I can get behind Rosegarden being legit because both Oscar and Ruby go well together. Ruby’s always wanted to be a huntress so she could explore the world and experience new things, while Oscar always thought that there was more to his life than just being a farmhand and was only more motivated to try going out into the world thanks to Ozpin reincarnating inside of him. I’m pretty sure it’s at least going to be until the end of Volume 8 when these two awkward dorks start realizing they like each other, and I think that’s a good place for their ship to start its departure.

Notice how Oscar's first line to Ruby was "You have silver eyes," which was also the same line Ozpin said to Ruby in their first meeting. This shows how Ozpin and Oscar are "like-minded souls."
The scene that tells me that Oscar fell in love with Ruby was definitely when she was knocked out and he knocked Lionheart down the stairs with little to no hesitation.

Oscar’s design resembles The Little Prince. In the fairy tale, the Prince is in love with a rose, but the rose is vain and doesn’t care for his feelings. Eventually he leaves, and the rose realizes its love for the Prince. The fairy tale also heavily implies that the young prince dies in a desire to return to the rose...well shit this doesn’t bode well....................................... BTW the story ends in a desert.....kinda like how Vacuo, the final kingdom is a desert.....

I ship Ruby and Oscar so much, they are both socially awkward af, literally the cutest couple. That scene in Volume 7 when Ruby is about to head out, both thinking the same, and shy as hell, literally a big sign of a cute couple forming. 1:47 That little laugh when Oscar staring at her omlllll, best part in my opinion, literally showed that Oscar had a crush on her.

What kinda bugs me about people who say Rosegarden is a bad ship because Ozpin is in Oscars head. Rosegarden is the ship between Ruby and OSCAR. It focuses on Ruby and Oscar. Not Ozpin, that a whole other ship (quite frankly, a really weird and bad one) I love Rosegarden and I hope it becomes a thing. Just as long as Ozpin is gone forms Oscars head.
I'm still of the opinion that Oz is Ruby's grandfather (with a few greats maybe), and sharing a body means he'd feel it if they ever kissed which is a very dark thought. I'm sure the series will end with Oz and Salem being set free and embracing death, so Oscar will be free to be with Ruby.
You can see Ruby's face that she's happy there's someone who's younger than her that can depend on her, that's why she has the nature to protect him just like at 10:37. And when Oscar became independent, more developed and stronger, the two would see each other in a new light. What a beautiful story, that's why I love this ship so much!
Ruby has always been the kid Growing up she was the younger sister At school, she just hung out with Yang's friends At Beacon, yes she was the team leader but she was also younger than anyone else by like 2 years. Now she can be a mentor to the next generation and it's really beautiful to watch. Maybe we'll see Oscar doing the same next volume. Helping out new students at Shade academy. That'd be pretty amazing

Ruby said she was trash before Qrow trained her. She's certainly not suited for fist fighting like Tai and Yang. Don't think she could be a swordmaster like Raven Qrow was the best choice for Ruby

Agreed. Ruby's whole arc in this series has been putting on a happy smile and pushing forward. This was basically her only moment of vulnerability and I think it was really telling. Here's hoping that Oscar can provide some emotional support next volume

Miles Luna mentioned in a cameo that Oscar had no possibility of going to the Ever After with everyone because he would've pushed Ruby until she told him how she felt (like he did in the dojo scene) and they needed Ruby to have her breaking point. @@shippernessity I never really thought of the song like that, thank you for sharing that with me because that actually does make a lot of sense and I agree with ya, I see them being able to manage to defeat and/or possibly save Salem from her own evil self, and if they don't have that happen, than this series seems pretty pointless the rest of the way for if they had all of this getting to know all of the character's and seeing them growing wiser and stronger and training to try and help Ozpin/Ozma defeat his wife/ex wife, ya know? So that's why I have strong confidence in your theory of how the RWBY series will probably will end, it just makes much more sense that way, especially if they're having Ruby of all the character's getting closer to him by heart/bonding and having us getting all attached to Oscar's character too, his character(in my personal opinion) seems extremely well built and shown throughout most the rest of the RWBY series if ya ask me, and he and Ruby also seem perfect for each other, tbh, they seem like they written and putted in Oscar's character to eventually end up with Ruby. I used to ship Lancaster, but after seeing how Oscar and Ruby interacts with one another, I started to ship RoseGarden afterwards and even rill this very day still don't have any regrets shipping them together, they're just way too perfectly cute together for me to stop shipping them, plus seems that they also care super deeply about each other too, especially with the way that Oscar show's his interest towards Ruby quite a lot more than any other character's that I've taken notice of so far watching the series(he seems to make Ruby's safety and feelings more of the first priority than the rest of his group of friend's/allie's) I mean, I can understand of why most or some people would hesitate to ship thel together(cough, cough, Ozpin/Ozma) but I don't see him taking full controls of Oscar at all, the series is by far showing that there's a strong possibility that RoseGarden will still eventually happen, just probably bot quite as fast as we all may be hoping for. But anyway, yeah, I just about agree with ya 100% with everything that you've stated so far🙃🍻
Besides Tyrian (who is probably the only character in RWBY to whom a thorough memory wipe would change nothing about their character), just about everyone in this show needs a hug.
Imma be honest, I think this gunna be canon. It’s not often that this show sets up characters from the start, especially in later seasons. But ever since Oscar was introduced he’s had an obvious crush on Ruby. And in volume 7 we got that massive hint that ruby liked him back. Since the show is pretty shit at setting up good, well developed relationships, I would like to see this become canon. White rose is great, but they’ve never really had any scenes where they very obviously at romantic chemistry (which is completely subjective and I’m not trashing white Rose in anyway). But the blushing, awkward stares, it’s all set up. If RT cam keep this up, we might have a genuinely good ship on our hands. Of course, this is all without considering the whole Ozpin things, which kinda throws a spanner in the works.
I knew it'd become canon after they stammered at each other this volume. Huge relationship flag Still love whiterose but we didnt get much of it lately. Seemed more possibly in V1-V3. There were a few moments then and V6 had a flirty moment in the opening and first episode that fans lost their minds over. The official manga had some Weiss blushing moments with manga as well Ruby and oscar seem way more likely now, but even if it happens, I'd like some more moments whiterose moments. Weiss just arrested her father and Ruby had a mental breakdown. They could use a moment between them right now
Justking I totally agree. My completely honest preference is that rose garden became canon, but white rose be endgame. I feel like ruby would be pretty stupid romantically, and being with Oscar would teach her a bit more about love and help her mature in that aspect. After a while, I think Oscar would most likely die, leaving Ruby to be comforted by Weiss. It could be a cool bit of development for Ruby considering she hasn’t had much.
@@hermitcrab_213 having a character mature through a relationship to better prepare them for their true partner is something I've seen done well before. Legend of Korra certainly did it in an interesting way Don't think Oscar would need to die for it to happen. They could realize on their own that they aren't a great fit for eachother and have different goals, so they'll split up
I believe in the fact that Oscar likes Ruby but Ruby having a crush on Oscar right now? I’d say nahh. That moment they had in volume 7 was pretty awkward and shit but i think it was to represent the socially awkwardness that ruby and oscar still have. Like Marrow said “kids” I don’t think he meant that in a romantic way but more in a socially awkward kids way. Tbh i think that Ruby will probably stay single till the end. Ruby and Oscar isn’t a good ship in M Y opinion because of the Oz thing. I personally am not a huge fan of age gaps as well but that’s just me.

She's always been more focused on being a huntress then anything else, so she isnt aware. That being said, I could definitely see the series ending with team RWBY all married and having kids, while Ruby alone continues her life as a solitary huntress
I only really started shipping Rosegarden after rewatching Volume 5 & 6 and analyzing exactly who Oscar interacts with and who says his name. Not Ozpin, Oscar. And it was astounding that it was basically only Ruby and Qrow. Literally volume 5 ONLY Ruby called Oscar by his name and Qrow only did so by the very end (called him Oz for the most part but by the end calls him "Kid"). Oscar has more interactions with people outside of these two for Volume 6, but it's still focused on Ruby - less Qrow. (what with the whole "I trusted you" thing. Understandable.) Then volume 7 came out and well. Reconfirms my stupid shipper heart. Oscar is the same age Ruby was in season 1, she's the closest to his age so it's no surprise they be friends at the very least. They are both young souls with the responsibility of the world on their shoulders - and that's a hell of a lot of shipping glue. (Im also really into Oscar and Jaune's brotherhood that's developing in Volume 7. Just warms my heart considering Jaune's behaviour in Volume 6).

Another one you should've included imo was during the fight with Cordovin you see Oscar in the ship then he notices Ruby is in harms way and tells her to move. I thought it was good that he was looking out and was one of the moments he actually somewhat saved her life. I've been waiting for a video like this and I'm glad I finally found it!

I was certainly surprised when making this video. There were more moments btw them then I expected. Oscar always seems to be looking to Ruby and she's always keeping on him, saving him time and time again. Plus she really opened up about losing Penny and Pyrrah which is pretty rare for her. There's definitely a good possibility that this could become canon. My guess is next volume Oscar will be on his own for a good chunk of next volume, getting stronger and gathering allies/resources and then come in at the last moment to save Ruby. Proving himself as a real huntsman and impressing her

Hey im back. Someone pointed pout that a song that plays between an interaction between Oscar and Ruby sounds super romantic and I was wtaching this video to find every little hint of this song. I swear its always perfect, the bakcground song for the part where they first talk sitting on the couch and chair AND THEN with Oscar's new outfit and everybody is concerned, Ruby is asking if he's okay. THE SONG IS THE SAME> IM GOING TO CRY
My theory is that once the show reaches its conclusion (that is, if it gets a proper ending), and the heroes somehow gather all four relics and defeat Salem (probably by sealing her away, since you know, she's immortal) Ozpin will be freed from his endless reincarnation and finally be allowed to enter the afterlife (which will probably be a super emotional moment. Just warning you now), and Oscar can live out the rest of his days as a normal boy (or possibly a hunter idk).
The worst part about this ship? THE WAITING. He's still 14. HOW MANY YEARS WILL HAVE TO PASS BEFORE YOU HIT YOUR GROWTH SPURT, OSCAR? :'( But I will wait however long is necessary.
I think his growth will come next volume. He'll be separate from Ruby, accomplishing his own goals and near the end, they'll reunite with him saving her using his newfound power
it is hard for fans to rally behind him when he's relatively new compared to the rest of the cast who have been in the series since vol1 and vol2 but i think people are starting to come around on him
For me, Oscar has a lot of potential as a character, especially his backstory that I hope will show us how was his past life was like before Ozpin took his body.
Things aren't looking great for the future. Still no news on the next volume and when it does finally start, Ruby and Oscar will start off incredibly far apart

@@Justking actually I believe qrow represents one of the birds, hunnin or munnin. (Probs butchered the names). Since ironwood and lionheart r headmasters, the headmaster for shade academy would be the scare qrow. Ironwood lost his heart in volume 7, lionheart lost his courage in volume 5, qrow hasn't lost his mind or intelligence. That could be used for headmaster Theodore from shade academy

And she REALIZED IT😧😧 Rewatch it a few times you can see the pain of that realization in her eyes like she was watching Penny and Pyrrah die all over again. This also goes to show how much Penny meant to her. They had a lot of depth together (their scenes together had more quality then quantity) and this scene also made me realize that if I think about the trip they took with the lantern Ruby seemed OFF,..... She never blamed Pyrrah for Penny's death AT ALL (witch is a GOOD thing)..... But I think the reason Ruby was OFF during their trip to deliver the lantern was bc she blamed HERSELF. Think about it she was literally SECONDS away from saving BOTH of their lives, but failed and in return had to watch them die. I think that's what she's afraid of and why she can't control her eyes, it also explains why her eyes have only been affective when one of her friends (or all of them) are just SECONDS away from death. THAT'S her trigger, FEAR. The old lady's trigger was the things she loved (as is Ruby's) but where the old lady would draw her power from the HAPPINESS of those things and wanting to hold on & protect them, Ruby draws her power from the FEAR of LOSING those things/people and the FEAR of NOT BEING ABLE to protect them..............GOD this show is dark😧😭. What kinda bugs me about people who say Rosegarden is a bad ship because Ozpin is in Oscars head. Rosegarden is the ship between Ruby and OSCAR. It focuses on Ruby and Oscar. Not Ozpin, that a whole other ship (quite frankly, a really weird and bad one) I love Rosegarden and I hope it becomes a thing. Just as long as Ozpin is gone forms Oscars head.
I'm still of the opinion that Oz is Ruby's grandfather (with a few greats maybe), and sharing a body means he'd feel it if they ever kissed which is a very dark thought.
I'm sure the series will end with Oz and Salem being set free and embracing death, so Oscar will be free to be with Ruby.

I don’t want to shit on this ship but personally, I hope they don’t. I just don’t think their relationship as characters is written well enough nor is it compelling. Plus, Oscar seems to be slowly turning into another Ozpin. A person who Ruby met as an adult. I can accept if Ruby just wants to provide Oscar with emotional support but I don’t think they should be together romantically.

Agreed. Ruby's whole arc in this series has been putting on a happy smile and pushing forward. This was basically her only moment of vulnerability and I think it was really telling. Here's hoping that Oscar can provide some emotional support next volume

@@shippernessity I never really thought of the song like that, thank you for sharing that with me because that actually does make a lot of sense and I agree with ya, I see them being able to manage to defeat and/or possibly save Salem from her own evil self, and if they don't have that happen, than this series seems pretty pointless the rest of the way for if they had all of this getting to know all of the character's and seeing them growing wiser and stronger and training to try and help Ozpin/Ozma defeat his wife/ex wife, ya know? So that's why I have strong confidence in your theory of how the RWBY series will probably will end, it just makes much more sense that way, especially if they're having Ruby of all the character's getting closer to him by heart/bonding and having us getting all attached to Oscar's character too, his character(in my personal opinion) seems extremely well built and shown throughout most the rest of the RWBY series if ya ask me, and he and Ruby also seem perfect for each other, tbh, they seem like they written and putted in Oscar's character to eventually end up with Ruby. I used to ship Lancaster, but after seeing how Oscar and Ruby interacts with one another, I started to ship RoseGarden afterwards and even rill this very day still don't have any regrets shipping them together, they're just way too perfectly cute together for me to stop shipping them, plus seems that they also care super deeply about each other too, especially with the way that Oscar show's his interest towards Ruby quite a lot more than any other character's that I've taken notice of so far watching the series(he seems to make Ruby's safety and feelings more of the first priority than the rest of his group of friend's/allie's) I mean, I can understand of why most or some people would hesitate to ship thel together(cough, cough, Ozpin/Ozma) but I don't see him taking full controls of Oscar at all, the series is by far showing that there's a strong possibility that RoseGarden will still eventually happen, just probably bot quite as fast as we all may be hoping for. Imma be honest, I think this gunna be canon. It’s not often that this show sets up characters from the start, especially in later seasons. But ever since Oscar was introduced he’s had an obvious crush on Ruby. And in volume 7 we got that massive hint that ruby liked him back. Since the show is pretty shit at setting up good, well developed relationships, I would like to see this become canon. White rose is great, but they’ve never really had any scenes where they very obviously at romantic chemistry (which is completely subjective and I’m not trashing white Rose in anyway). But the blushing, awkward stares, it’s all set up. If RT cam keep this up, we might have a genuinely good ship on our hands. Of course, this is all without considering the whole Ozpin things, which kinda throws a spanner in the works.

Justking I totally agree. My completely honest preference is that rose garden became canon, but white rose be endgame. I feel like ruby would be pretty stupid romantically, and being with Oscar would teach her a bit more about love and help her mature in that aspect. After a while, I think Oscar would most likely die, leaving Ruby to be comforted by Weiss. It could be a cool bit of development for Ruby considering she hasn’t had much.

I don't think Ruby is in love with Oscar, but I think a crush is starting to form without her even realizing it. She's always been more focused on being a huntress then anything else, so she isnt aware. That being said, I could definitely see the series ending with team RWBY all married and having kids, while Ruby alone continues her life as a solitary huntress
I only really started shipping Rosegarden after rewatching Volume 5 & 6 and analyzing exactly who Oscar interacts with and who says his name. Not Ozpin, Oscar. And it was astounding that it was basically only Ruby and Qrow. Literally volume 5 ONLY Ruby called Oscar by his name and Qrow only did so by the very end (called him Oz for the most part but by the end calls him "Kid").
Oscar has more interactions with people outside of these two for Volume 6, but it's still focused on Ruby - less Qrow. (what with the whole "I trusted you" thing. Understandable.)
Then volume 7 came out and well. Reconfirms my stupid shipper heart.
Oscar is the same age Ruby was in season 1, she's the closest to his age so it's no surprise they be friends at the very least. They are both young souls with the responsibility of the world on their shoulders - and that's a hell of a lot of shipping glue.
(Im also really into Oscar and Jaune's brotherhood that's developing in Volume 7. Just warms my heart considering Jaune's behaviour in Volume 6).

I was certainly surprised when making this video. There were more moments btw them then I expected. Oscar always seems to be looking to Ruby and she's always keeping on him, saving him time and time again. Plus she really opened up about losing Penny and Pyrrah which is pretty rare for her.
There's definitely a good possibility that this could become canon. My guess is next volume Oscar will be on his own for a good chunk of next volume, getting stronger and gathering allies/resources and then come in at the last moment to save Ruby. Proving himself as a real huntsman and impressing her

My theory is that once the show reaches its conclusion (that is, if it gets a proper ending), and the heroes somehow gather all four relics and defeat Salem (probably by sealing her away, since you know, she's immortal) Ozpin will be freed from his endless reincarnation and finally be allowed to enter the afterlife (which will probably be a super emotional moment. Just warning you now), and Oscar can live out the rest of his days as a normal boy (or possibly a hunter idk).

Oscar is such an underrated character.
it is hard for fans to rally behind him when he's relatively new compared to the rest of the cast who have been in the series since vol1 and vol2
but i think people are starting to come around on him
For me, Oscar has a lot of potential as a character, especially his backstory that I hope will show us how was his past life was like before Ozpin took his body.

@@Justking actually I believe qrow represents one of the birds, hunnin or munnin. (Probs butchered the names). Since ironwood and lionheart r headmasters, the headmaster for shade academy would be the scare qrow. Ironwood lost his heart in volume 7, lionheart lost his courage in volume 5, qrow hasn't lost his mind or intelligence. That could be used for headmaster Theodore from shade academy

4:19 Ruby was mimicking Penny!!She even used Penny's motions.... And she REALIZED IT😧😧 Rewatch it a few times you can see the pain of that realization in her eyes like she was watching Penny and Pyrrah die all over again. This also goes to show how much Penny meant to her. They had a lot of depth together (their scenes together had more quality then quantity) and this scene also made me realize that if I think about the trip they took with the lantern Ruby seemed OFF,..... She never blamed Pyrrah for Penny's death AT ALL (witch is a GOOD thing)..... But I think the reason Ruby was OFF during their trip to deliver the lantern was bc she blamed HERSELF. Think about it she was literally SECONDS away from saving BOTH of their lives, but failed and in return had to watch them die. I think that's what she's afraid of and why she can't control her eyes, it also explains why her eyes have only been affective when one of her friends (or all of them) are just SECONDS away from death. THAT'S her trigger, FEAR. The old lady's trigger was the things she loved (as is Ruby's) but where the old lady would draw her power from the HAPPINESS of those things and wanting to hold on & protect them, Ruby draws her power from the FEAR of LOSING those things/people and the FEAR of NOT BEING ABLE to protect them..............GOD this show is dark😧😭.
