I wish EA hadn't crippled this game's development so bad that we basically had to cut the previous games to make a soft-reboot outta the fourth installment.
11:14 you need to think a little about party composition in Veilguard on higher difficulties for sure, but more for combos than just party “balance” like in older games.. Warriors/rogues/mages set up comboes for each other but not for characters of the same class. So when you’re a warrior you really want a mage and rogue with you most of the time for tough fights and so one.
It's interesting to go back and see what sorta was guessed before we got any sort of information. Sure seeing the artbook, your predictions and what we got in the end might differ quite a lot but everything was part of the fun, wasn't it? What we got is quite enjoyable and can stand on it's own based on it's merrit, even though as a new fan i don't like the turn it could go to with the implications of the executors but for that i will wait until your ideas what the executors could be. Certainly what i expected or hoped for wasn't what i got but i enjoyed the game non the less and was very impressed on how some of the companions grew on me, not as much as i would have liked but that is a common thread that follows all dragon age games, also mass effect. Sometimes you just don't vibe with some of the companions. But for me Harding and Emmerich were really enjoyable as companions and romance options. With the departure of several writers there is some uncertainty for me in how we will progress in the future storylines but for now i will look forward to Mass Effect 5 knowing that bioware did not die with this release, dragon age, like kala mentioned just reinvents itself everytime.
I hope that they include Ser Aaron in a DLC or (sigh) the next game. While Varric can never be replaced, I can see Ser Aaron being a similar mentor type character. I really liked him. It would be amazingggg to have Trespasser-style DLC that allows us to have one more goodbye with our companions, meet a few newly-introduced characters, include tinting, and set up the mystery of the Executors for the next game. If only!!
Six years from now when Catie becomes a VTuber 😅 There is a kid on a Treviso balcony talking about Antaam rounding up mages, but mentions it couldn't possibly apply to him... nervous twitching! Not saying a match but a fun head canon nod. Yay Executors! Zevran just side-eyeing Rook's gang... Love triangle goes boom!
My thoughts are mixed. I love all the new lore, how it confirmed a lot of our theories and posed new questions. I love the continued story, the new locations, new characters. I hate the combat. I hate only having two companions. I hate how Inquisition was nearly perfect and Veilguard failed me. I hate how they "put so much effort" into the companions and they still feel fake sometimes, some conversations don't fit or make sense. I was disappointed by the first romance i did (lucanis). I hate how it felt like we moved forward with gameplay in Inquisition and backwards in Veilguard. 10 years later and there are scenes in Inquisition I've seen like 100 times and I STILL cry. Nothing in my first playthrough of Veilguard made me feel that way until the very end, the last bit of my romance and how i handled Solas (with a romanced Inquisitor). I hate how basically this was a soft reboot of the series. I feel like the first time i played Dragon Age 2 after Origins...everything is so linear and boring. It feels like my choices don't matter as much. I wanted to feel the way i did playing Inquisition, i wanted this game to make me laugh, cry, and feel alive like Inquisition....it failed.
Hey Ghil! How long will your code for EA app stay active? I got DAV for PS5, but I'm planning to purchase it for PC as well after Christmas and I'd consider doing so through the EA app if cc codes are still active.
Is it just me, or did the Inquisition vibe seem to be more that the very environment of a world without the veil would be hostile to the non-eleven races rather than it just being about a ton of demons showing up without the veil? Did I misread that vibe?
It had less than that the game was rebooted twice if I remember right. Sorry you didn't like the game. Hopefully you find something out there you do enjoy.
@warmybear0451 lied to that this was a dragon age rpg. It just wasn't a good game. It was a great group therapy simulator with dragon age themes, but the plot and dialogue were so poorly written, paced and staged throughout the game. It's so painfully tone deaf throughout and I just got shoe horned into being this chipper, smug group counselor.
@warmybear0451 The only way we found out about no worldstates carrying over was because of a leak. They were intentionally withholding that information. Then they justified it by saying they did not want to ruin our past choices and create new ones, but in the process destroyed Southern Thedas essentially and Morrigan is a vessel regardless, along with the ending implication that past events were manipulated by a greater force. So yeah, they were dishonest and lied up to release.
It's a Dragon Age game however many times the salty dorks want to arrogantly proclaim it isn't. You don't decide if this game is a Dragon Age game or not. Only Bioware does.
@@mandu6665 I think it says more about this game, that the only people who jump to its defense are those who resort to insults and name calling as their only defense, which is hilarious because when it comes to rational thought and critical thinking, insulting your opposition is a clear sign that you are not intelligent enough to be discussing the topic, and invalidates any argument you might make. And for you or anyone else who reads this comment and think that I am some salty incel who's stance holds no water or worth considering, I am not salty, I am genuinely sad and disheartened by this game. This game had so much potential, and while I do not think that everything about it is bad, I think the majority of the community agrees that this was not a dragon age game, by the standards previously set by its predecessors. This game was a flashy high production cash grab by EA, and could only have been made for some small minority of people to enjoy, because the writing and pacing was so bad that it was clear that it was not made for the true fans who cherish these characters and stories

Inky went from southern pjs to northern ones. Hoping for mods to put her gleaming regal armor for approaching the dread wolf
Oh no, no one of our companions technically did betray us. Solas was briefly in our party
Should have seen that one coming
OMG YAAAAAYY I’M SO HAPPY YOU CAME BACK TO THIS!!!
I was so cooked not getting to see Cassandra after making her leader of the whatyoumacallsit
I wish EA hadn't crippled this game's development so bad that we basically had to cut the previous games to make a soft-reboot outta the fourth installment.
First! Was waiting for your video!!
"[What the inquisitor is wearing is strange] cause it's just the gear for the Shadow Dragons."
Me with a Dorian-mancer inky: *ash's evil dog emoji*
I suspect, your predictions would've been closer to the actual game, had this game come out earlier.
If only!!
Bioware has already stated there will be no DLC for Veilguard.
You haven't read Dark Fortress, have you?
Oooh, I’m so close to finishing my first playthrough but as soon as I do I HAVE TO WATCH THIS!
Omg the Ellis tweets were so cringe and just ugghhh. Other than that great vid. You were right about the Antaam and Venatori as well.
This is perfect timing! I just finished the ending of the game like an hour ago! I'm still processing lol
Same, finished it 2 days ago, can't believe it
you mean like stealing Harding from Taash? yeah done that
Six years from now when Catie becomes a VTuber 😅
There is a kid on a Treviso balcony talking about Antaam rounding up mages, but mentions it couldn't possibly apply to him... nervous twitching!
No, it didn’t confirm our theories. The new writers outright stole those theories and used them as their own
Ghil Dirthalen making herself out to be old and decrepit at the beginning of the video, lol
Also Fenris 😩what should have been.
I WISH we had gotten the red suit, that would've been merciful
To be fair, it's not your fault that you can't track bioware's plot jumps between games. They truly cannot commit to an idea for more than one game
Yissss Executors video coming up!
7:57 I’m a vowel believer I’m sad they didn’t stick with that 😂
Lmao no I did not like the Inquisitor's outfit
Hey Ghil! How long will your code for EA app stay active? I got DAV for PS5, but I'm planning to purchase it for PC as well after Christmas and I'd consider doing so through the EA app if cc codes are still active.
It's pretty crazy that you got a lot of stuff pretty right
It looks better than the Beige
Is it just me, or did the Inquisition vibe seem to be more that the very environment of a world without the veil would be hostile to the non-eleven races rather than it just being about a ton of demons showing up without the veil? Did I misread that vibe?
I genuinely believed Mae was going to play a big part in Veilguard 😅
Maybe if the game were set on Seheron.
Side note: I need a DA game set in Seheron someday.
Ghil, do you think the laws of magic are changed with what was revealed in Veilguard?
my inquisitor romanced dorian so I just headcanon that he gave the inquisitor that outfit as a joke and my inky just kept on wearing it because
I was right about the titans and that the evanuris did it and the blight, just not who did it
How about a prediction video of DLC for Veilguard?
The devs said there won't be any DLC
@@lilithrose8048 the game flopped. So it wont get anything.
@@attilamarics3374 How is it a flop?
@@Will-sb4hf It sold bad according to most people, and even the player counts are low as hell.
I dont think it have anything to do with Flop, they said it wouldnt have a dlc since the game released. Bg3 also dont have a dlc and it didnt flop
26:18 well technically hawk were actually mentioned by Varric in an off hand comment at some point between missions if you check up on him in his room
Good guesses
😂 as soon as the video you started the video
Past katie: WELCOME WELCOME PATRONS!!!
me: 😢 my ears... MY EAAAARS!! *bleeding*
Neve is my boo 🖤
Seems like Seheron got cut... but maybe something for a sequel.
Yeah. The Qun stuffs definitely got cut. Saarbrak was deep into the DAV concepts and even VaV portrayed how life is like in Par Vollen.
26:16 Hawke 😢
I think the mic sounds worse through re-recording than the original 😂
do you have a bluesky account i can follow ?
Yes! Username is just ghildirthalen :)
@@GhilDirthalen thank you
2:20 You don't need to worry about a predictions video for Dragon Age 5. I cannot imagine Bioware surviving this.
You don't need to worry about what a dragon age lore channel is going to do for future videos on her channel. 👍
I'm actually really upset we got new factions instead of established ones like the Fog Warriors.
Taash did betray us ( with terrible dialogue).
He said in didn’t play the game
@@ducky36Fwhat??
I certainly didn't predict that the game would be worse than DA2 with a decade of development time.
Thanks for a boring comment on a fun video
It's a fantastic game, I dunno what game you were expecting but it was pretty damn great to me
@@valridagandid you hate the other dragon age games ?
It had less than that the game was rebooted twice if I remember right. Sorry you didn't like the game. Hopefully you find something out there you do enjoy.
Development hell of 10 years is no better.
2018 Ghil used to be more serious and less loud. Miss that. The constant laughing and screaming hurts my ears.
Oh? I like this better. Makes her video more fun. She wasn't reading lore videos here.
Agree
Feel free to move on then
I'm honestly quite upset with da4. I just feel lied to, and it's just not a dragon age game and I'm really so baffled. idek what else to say about it.
lied to in what way? Lore wise like 99.9% of it has been appropriately setup for over a decade.
Through the Looking Glass: Merrill’s Legacy and Bellara’s Shadow • Dragon Age
This is the video i expected from YOU. Instead, i have to find this in a raging, weirdo, W40K fans channel. Shame.
