Gestern habe ich diesen Kanal entdeckt.... Ich bin begeistert und ein wenig verliebt! Modellbau im Garten und keine Plastikwüste ohne Konzept wie man sie so häufig erlebt... :))
On most garden railways the "1:1 sized" trees etc. are very noticeable, but here the use of plants and miniature trees is superb! I saw some photos in garden railway magazines of this line and noticed that if these photos had been printed in b/w and claimed to be of a real railway I would at least at first glance (and probably for much longer than one look...) have believed it. Being a table top modeler (in the smaller scales) garden railways often look a bit "childish" (for want of a better term) to me, but this is really one of the best examples of a "scenic model railway" in the garden.
One Thing that seems to get unnoticed: this layout uses short locos and short waggons. With a small railway-line being pictured that is the way to go. When the layout is not to large the long spectacular looking 4-axle rolling stock just looks oversized. Short rolling-stock also is much more realistic with the sharp curves you get with starting packages. Another reason for short rolling-stock is that you can buy a whole train for the price of a large loco. Last reason is that a station can be kept much shorter if you use short trains.

Lovely program once again Ian and Mark (and @railwaychannel), and a beautiful layout Andy. Many ideas for my own. Thanks!
What a great piece of modelrailroading in the garden, thank you very much for making this report.
wonderful railway, truly inspiring, love the way it blends into the landscape just like a real railway does.
Great job!
