I want to add some information. 1. Certain games need to be changed from their Fullscreen settings to Borderless Windows as they default to the wrong one when launched. You can launch them in Desktop Mode, Windowed. Then get to the settings, switch Borderless Windowed and then from there you can save and go back to Handheld Mode and launch it and it should work fine. Games like Digimon Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition has a Platinum Rating on Proton and works flawlessly after these changes. 2. Some Anti-cheat games can be altered at the risk of being banned. Fall Guys has an easy work around to work on Deck at some risks but their Dev Studio are super cool and understanding. So far it seems like they are aware and intentionally trying not to ban anyone who have made these modifications but don't recommend you do it. Other Unsupported games have fixes as well based in Proton like the video explains but also have issues with launchers. There are a few fixes out there as well Vanburman has demonstrated all of these fixes for some games. I'd recommend to check him out after this video.
Steam Deck is Windows Gaming and it's very cool! Like Xbox Series X and S, it works perfectly like a Windows 10/11 PC, According to Gaming on Windows 10 PC and Windows 11 PC, it does the same thing, but different, which it shows how those different fps goes faster! And Steam Deck is awesome with a lot of FPS and this is why The Steam Deck is popular! Steam Deck is popular now and it's awesome! And so does GPD XP, but Steam Deck is way powerful than GPD XP, and which is now GPD XP and Steam Deck has different specs. And I'm glad Steam Deck will be very powerful than GPD XP soon! :-D Xbox Series X and S Console was enjoying this and mostly with PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 will be restock at all stores soon! Thanks Microsoft and Valve.
Just one comment. GE is not the latest version of Proton, the latest version is the Experimental. GE are community builds that includes latest version of Wine.
@@SteamDeckGaming , Yeah, was going to mention that "GE" stands for "Glorious Eggroll". He's the buddy that's been making Proton "work properly" for linux users for years. Keep these vids coming. The more people get into linux gaming, the better for everyone :-)
If I can't just play all the games I want on steam without needing to do all of this effort then what's the point of getting a steam deck over a switch oled
I have barely touched my switch since I've had my switch, 75 games installed all ranging from mid 90s to 2000's-2010s to modern games, my steam library is vast, no more wondering if there will be a port coming to the switch. Yes there is some tinkering on certain games. But if you love those games then it's worth it
I would like to see what non Steam games I can get working on Linux that aren't natively supported. The Wine compatibility page barely gets much updates, so that's no help for me.
Finally got it to work, I had to uninstall all versions of ProtonGE, and then ONLY install 7-14 and run Just Cause 2 on that. With multiple versions of GE installed it would not launch.
I want to get Ghost Recon Future Soldier working so badly, but the Ubisoft Launcher doesn't work... there's not much information out there about how to fix it except for what little information is on SteamDB, and I don't really understand how to do what they say to do there...
Dying light 2 yes we have gameplay and best settings videos for that and it just got updated to playable status yesterday officially. Not sure on the others I’m afraid
I just ordered a Steam Deck OLED after waiting for it's compatibility & community to grow - Can you tell me how much of this is info is still up to date, please? Thank you for the video!!
I’ve recently purchased the first Rage game for my Steam Deck. The game booted up easily but none of the controls worked once I got to the main menu. Regardless of what layout that I chose. Any suggestions?
well i still cant play r6 because it got the trashiest anti-cheat in the world and I cant play on the steam deck because the anti-cheat is not supported
Hi there hope you can help, I have just purchased Call of Duty 3 for 50 pounds and only to find that it's not compatible with steam deck. I have just watched your video about the latest proton. Have just installed proton 9.5 and still not supporting my game please can u help.
If it’s EAC we may now have another fix but I’m yet to try it on other games, it worked for squad though and will try a few others. Squad video coming soon.
Just Cause 2 doesn't work for me. I've tried using both Proton 7-14 as shown in this video, and 7-18, the most current iteration. The game boots to a black screen both in desktop mode and the Steam UI. Do you have any further recommendations?
Have you checked to see if it's opened a browser window? I think I had that initially as mentioned in the Just Cause 2 video here on the channel th-cam.com/video/ukoYx-Wmr-k/w-d-xo.html
This is what community needs. Strict, short and to the point video and no ramblings. Good job
Brilliant, thanks so much for uploading this - definitely gonna save this tutorial so I can come back to it when I get my Deck 😊
Awesome, definitely using these tips on all the unsupported games in my library once my Steam Deck comes in the mail. Thank you!

I may need to be fact checked on this but I'm pretty sure it's because the steam deck doesn't have the sort of anti cheat that windows does
