Well that's a funny coincidence. This game is basically SMT 1 Vengeance given that it basically adds a new route splitting off but using the same elements.
This remake is awesome: Soul Hackers gameplay, game is harder, Zio and guns nerfed, minimap visable, new demons, demons leveling up, new routes, you can choice one of three heroines for each alignment (Law, Neutral, Chaos), you can betray Chaos or Law Hero and go back to Neutral route without restarting a game. And new Yuriko design is 10/10.
You convinced me to finally play this game. I don't have the time to play it twice over so I'll start with this one. I got a mod from reddit that makes the bosses easier too.

Loving this game so far i actually got a game over to Thor even with Yuriko it lit up my SMT team building part of my brain. Just a shame that demon negotiation sucks…I’ve been negotiating with every encounter and only got like 5 demons…
At least the game is pretty generous with the money obtained after every random encounter. Unfortunately, reviving an ally is expensive af, I had to go back to Kazuya's house every now or then just to get a free heal lol And yeah, TeaTimeSpooks said he had to simplify the demon negotiation system because of how many different options it had (he said translating all of the options was too much)
HOLY cow this is amazing, I been playing it for a few days and currently trying the overlord route... it is insane, yet rewarding. But I'm at a point where i'm grinding a lot to somehow stay afloat as the mags are important to sustain. My grip though is that the beginning feels a bit too punishing, especially with the new bosses and things added in the start. Every battle felt like SMT4 where either you kill them, or they kill you lol.

I have Sexy Info... :3 It is posible to play with a controller, its just that the key asignation is weird :v Lets see, the buttons are organized like this on an Xbox360 controller: X = "A" (Select Item)/Auto Message reading (If you hold it, but its not that fast) B = "B" Cancel/Return + Open Menu Y = Auto-Battle (Press A/B/X to cancel it) A = Change Stat display (This works only on the main menu and battles and allows you to see ATK, G-ATK, DEF and MAG in the same place than the HP/MP and also toggles between both modes [The Symbols are on Japanise tho, take that I mentioned the stats in the same order than In-Game, if you dont get it, compare the numbers of this function with those in the stats to identify what the order of the Stats] Start = Open Map Select = Change Character (This works on the character equipment, the Character/Demon Stat screens and the Store's equipment menu, with this you can alternate between characters when checking stats or equipment and its the only way to change equipment of allies on the stores as it opens the MC's Equipment screen directly and "L" and "R" are not a thing here, it works on only one side tho, so to return to a previously seen character screen, you have to see anyone elses screens or just select it manually, I recomend the latter unless you are equiping on a store tbh) --------- All right! I hope you enjoy it, Controller users, and Holy Frick, this game is the polishment of a master piece! Cant believe me? Go back to Roppongi (the MC's district [I think]) after you reach the 2nd terminal, you'll be surprised with the level of detail this game has, sad that no one ever translated it before, the translator freaking deserves a high ranked home in Tokyo Milenium TBH ಠಿ_ಠಿ
Wait! Before you move the file to System 32... You can put it on the games folder in the same place as the executable and its going to work on the same way! Take that into account if you prefer to leave System 32 alone
@@Teddy-k5y from what I understood while working on this video, VX ACE is "stronger" than VX (but you need to install VX, if you install VX ACE the game won't work)
@@CarlosMW pretty much. VX is the "trial" version of VX ACE, they share a lot of code and sprites (although nearly all of scripts for VX can't work with VX ACE), that's why they use the same rtp. (Rtp is basicly a set of game's basic textures and sounds)
This was a great video as you always make. Curious into trying this version of SMT out myself, but I'm kinda clueless on what I need to do with the files or where I need to put them as I've never honestly messed with RPG Maker that much before, you wouldn't happen to have any advice would you? Im attempting to put this on my steamdeck, which should just work the sa e as the PC, I got everything you mentioned that someone would need, just kinda lost after that.
Thanks a lot for this really thorough synopsis! Just beat the English translation of the PSX version and while there were things I liked, there were a few huge gameplay annoyances and missed story opportunities. I can't judge it that hard because it was the very first SMT and came out in like 1992, but still VX looks SO GOOD AND INTERESTING, absolutely going to play it
Nice to have any sort of write on this game, Although there is one question i have about the routes. What are the exact requirements to meet both the Overlord and Friendship Endings? As in at what part of the game are you allowed to Deny both the Law and Chaos heroes to be thrown in the expanse and what do you need to do to specifically save them both for friendship ending? I'd really like to know before I really commit to doing any runs of this game in full due to time commitments.
For Overlord route, once you find Yuuka all you have to do is say no and refuse to work with her. You will go to the expanse alone with just your demons so you woud have to be well stocked before going because it is much harder then anything else in the game in my opinion...

Haniel ... OMFG: 4 turns (!!!), he is super fast (which means he acts second after MC), AOE Charm with 99% chance for hit, Mahamaon, God Judgement (guarantied instakill for one target), 4xMaziodyne (yes SMT 1 VX have ,,Heavy'' versions of spells, unlike original SMT 1 when only have ,,Medium''), Megidolaon. This boss is impossible to beat without pure luck, because he acts faster than you, have great skillset who counter everything, and have 4 turn. Magic in this game is so busted in late game.
To be honest, the fact that you can level up your demons and learn new skills is great gameplay-wise, but difficulty-wise it makes the game waaaay harder

Tienes que farmear, no te queda de otra Si guardaste antes de encerrar a Belial en la jarra, sal de ahí y dirígete a una de las bases de los Gaeans para comprar objetos que hacen instakill. Luego, dirigete al mapa y ve a uno de los lugares donde se encuentra algún Heavenly King (tiene forma de una casa roja), ahí está plagado de enemigos que te superan por mínimo 30 niveles, si guardas ahí y usas los objetos instakill empezarás a subir de nivel muy rápido, pero también morirás bastante debido a que cualquier ataque te borrará del mapa

Porque cuando yo lo intento en la parte de Echidna y Haniel solo puedo matar 1, cuando voy con Echidna como neutral me obliga a matar Haniel o negarme, mientras que con el otro el MC acepta de una ayudar al heroe de la ley.

Due to enemies deal MUCH more dmg now, i recommend NOT build ,,glasscannon'', tank build (INT + VIT) or more balanced (STR + SPD/LCK or INT/VIT) is better now. And if your MC dies, all your demons going back to COMP, so you need protect him for all cost. This is HUGE nerf for Recarm / Samarecarm.

I just got it working through my Steam Deck. you’ll need to ensure the game is ran through Proton Experimental and put the DLL in the game’s directory. also when you download the RPG maker VX stuff, put it in the same directory as SMT VX and on your game.ini delete the line that mentions RTM.
Hola Carlos, gracias a ti pude saber que existia tal joya escondida, y me encanta esta nueva version de SMT, he sacado el friendship ending y de reseña puedo decir que se nota mucho que el juego esta muy desbalanceado a partir de tokyo destruido hasta el final (algunos bosses siendo completamente injustos) al punto que necesitarás reiniciar el juego una y otra vez para tener una oportunidad de hacer algo, a pesar de ser muy fan de SMT 1 y que tenga mucho contenido, los bosses pueden realmente bajarte la experiencia de esta joya que es SMT VX.
Me alegro que te gustará, yo recién llegué al Expanse con Yuriko pero decidi volver a cargar la partida solo para prepararme mejor. Y que rápido llegaste a uno de los finales, cuánto tiempo te tomo?
@@CarlosMW unas 39h en total, pero eso es porque tuve que reiniciar toda mi partida desde cero porque me olvidé hacer una cosa casi en la mitad del juego y el law hero no se unió.

Not because you need levels, but because you need all the money possible to get the best equipment, items that revive your allies, items that repel physical or elemental attacks, and more. 2.Keep all of your weapons. Most of the weapons obtainable from this game are from enemy drops, but the drop % is awful until your luck is around 20. 3.Get Konohana Sakuya as soon as possible. She's one of the best supporters from this game. 4.Use your demons. They get the same experience you get after every encounter, and in this game they can level up. 5.Get a demon with Makarakarn as soon as possible. Makarakarn in this game also repels ailment attacks such as Tentarafoo. 6.Get a demon with the skill Mother's Embrace as soon as possible. It's the best healing spell from the game. 7.Buff and debuffs are VERY important. 8.Always have a demon with Tetraja or have some Pentagrams to block instakills spells

I've seen people running this game on a Steam Deck without issues. It shouldn't be that difficult to set up (I don't have a Steam Deck, sorry haha)

I haven't played the game since last week, and I left it before finding Yuka for the first time
I want to play this so bad now. The demons leveling up is great. A lot of modern updates were needed.

Si guardaste antes de encerrar a Belial en la jarra, sal de ahí y dirígete a una de las bases de los Gaeans para comprar objetos que hacen instakill.
Luego, dirigete al mapa y ve a uno de los lugares donde se encuentra algún Heavenly King (tiene forma de una casa roja), ahí está plagado de enemigos que te superan por mínimo 30 niveles, si guardas ahí y usas los objetos instakill empezarás a subir de nivel muy rápido, pero también morirás bastante debido a que cualquier ataque te borrará del mapa

@@CarlosMW hola de nuevo, por casualidad no has tenido problema con sacar el final de Friendship o neutral. Porque cuando yo lo intento en la parte de Echidna y Haniel solo puedo matar 1, cuando voy con Echidna como neutral me obliga a matar Haniel o negarme, mientras que con el otro el MC acepta de una ayudar al heroe de la ley.

From Readme: ,,Intelligence now determines your magic defense, and is vital for your survival.'' Like Magic stat in Digital Devil Saga.
Magic stat is still useless for MC.
Due to enemies deal MUCH more dmg now, i recommend NOT build ,,glasscannon'', tank build (INT + VIT) or more balanced (STR + SPD/LCK or INT/VIT) is better now. And if your MC dies, all your demons going back to COMP, so you need protect him for all cost. This is HUGE nerf for Recarm / Samarecarm.

All the characters are way weaker now, so going for a tanky build is more efficient than going for a offensive build
It is not that they are weaker, enemies deals more dmg. Orcos Charge + Maragi deals 400-600 AoE dmg, when you have only around 200 HP :D@@CarlosMW

It's like MTs in Pokemon, you pay for a selection of teachable skills for your demons
I meant if any time we fuse demons, either the inherited skills of the fused demon are random or not.

I just got it working through my Steam Deck. you’ll need to ensure the game is ran through Proton Experimental and put the DLL in the game’s directory.
also when you download the RPG maker VX stuff, put it in the same directory as SMT VX and on your game.ini delete the line that mentions RTM.

Hola Carlos, gracias a ti pude saber que existia tal joya escondida, y me encanta esta nueva version de SMT, he sacado el friendship ending y de reseña puedo decir que se nota mucho que el juego esta muy desbalanceado a partir de tokyo destruido hasta el final (algunos bosses siendo completamente injustos) al punto que necesitarás reiniciar el juego una y otra vez para tener una oportunidad de hacer algo, a pesar de ser muy fan de SMT 1 y que tenga mucho contenido, los bosses pueden realmente bajarte la experiencia de esta joya que es SMT VX.
Me alegro que te gustará, yo recién llegué al Expanse con Yuriko pero decidi volver a cargar la partida solo para prepararme mejor.
Y que rápido llegaste a uno de los finales, cuánto tiempo te tomo?
@@CarlosMW unas 39h en total, pero eso es porque tuve que reiniciar toda mi partida desde cero porque me olvidé hacer una cosa casi en la mitad del juego y el law hero no se unió.

1.You'll have to grind a lot. Not because you need levels, but because you need all the money possible to get the best equipment, items that revive your allies, items that repel physical or elemental attacks, and more.
2.Keep all of your weapons. Most of the weapons obtainable from this game are from enemy drops, but the drop % is awful until your luck is around 20.
3.Get Konohana Sakuya as soon as possible. She's one of the best supporters from this game.
4.Use your demons. They get the same experience you get after every encounter, and in this game they can level up.
5.Get a demon with Makarakarn as soon as possible. Makarakarn in this game also repels ailment attacks such as Tentarafoo.
6.Get a demon with the skill Mother's Embrace as soon as possible. It's the best healing spell from the game.
7.Buff and debuffs are VERY important.
8.Always have a demon with Tetraja or have some Pentagrams to block instakills spells

@@reytrinity2329 recrear los fondos de la versión de Mega-CD sería bastante difícil debido a que si miras como son, te darás cuenta que están diseñados para un juego con un gameplay bastante lento
