Its awesome people are finding this video helpful. I told myself if it even got 1 thousand views I'd do a part 2. There are other technics and mechanics I left out of the video that slipped my mind. I dont know when ill get into making another video like this. It takes hours to make a concise tutorial video. But I am an expert at most retro games of all kinds and have knowledge to share with the retro gaming masses. Not just crazy taxi, but all games. I think if you know how to do something and there isnt a video on how to do it, than you have a due diligence to share and teach your knowledge. even if it is just playing old video games. Everyone making tutorials on youtube for no money are the true heros of our time. Im glad I helped all of you. This game rulez and I want you to enjoy as much if not more as I do
Such fascinating design. All these manoeuvres definitely feel purposeful, yet when you performing them they look slightly glitchy with your cab bouncing all around. For the arcade team to pour that level of deep learning into a set of simple systems is staggering and is what is missing from a lot of modern game design. Crazy Taxi may offer the greatest depth to number of buttons ratio in gaming. Gas, brake, steering, reverse, drive. Go.
great explaination. I got $84.000+ without knowing how to drift by holding the gearshifter in D. Always had a hardtime doing that one trial in crazy pyramid
started playing again thru steam so appreciate this, I've never been able to figure out crazy reverse and as soon as you explained it I got it now. thanks!
Having to HOLD the button for Drive to drift fucking astounds me, especially when nothing in the Steam release nor the digital manual that comes with it says ANYTHING about that.
I Learned this a Loooooog time ago when i first got the game for the dreamcast .. yes its true they do a poor job at explaining it 😂 great video and details on how the macanics work🔥
1:18 yep toitally true the manual doesnt even tell you this so if you are trying to drift you have to figure out on your own that you have to HOLD the button or it doesnt work, this murdered me as a kid and I don't think i ever figured it out. I only figured it out a few months ago on my modded DC
I was doing it in the time, and it was in the manual, there was no onter et so how did I learnt it?I also remember being able to jump, but it could have been the second ot ct3
Funny thing is I drive a cab now (I was born in '91, so I was 10ish when I played Crazy Taxi) and once in a while I blast The Offspring through the sound system while I drive like a maniac 😂
Yooooo!!! Fellow Crazy Cabbie!!🚕 your guide is perfect-o!! I've been playing on pc, but the lag is really starting to get me... i have a really nice pc too! It's definitely a port issue. I just broke $60,000 a few days ago. What's your high score? I'm trying for the world record😅😊😅😊😊😊
You really nailed down the "holding a button", is as much of an action as "pressing the button," a lot of people don't get that... And your explanation of how the cab "catches" the boost was perfect! I was able to tighten up my Limiter Cuts almost instantly from your advice! Keep going! You're an excellent teacher! New subscriber here 😂
Hey! I dont yet have a dreamcast but I really wanna play Crazy Taxi. I do have a PS2 and GC, in your opinion, are these suitable versions? I might pick up a DC later this year but wanted to get your thoughts regardless
yep they are carbon copy ports on those systems. literally nothing is altered. the dreamcast version can run in 480p though so if you are planning on playing on LCD that will be the best graphics out of those systems. the ps2 controller sucks to drive with in this game though, so if you are picking up a DC sometime, i guess wait for that. the DC triggers are great
Its better than nothing, but KinkKush is correct. Basically its a Sega game made for a Sega console. Then haphazardly ported to all the other platforms. I started on ps2 and then got a DC and it was a huge difference in polish. You will get a much more robust experience on DC or the real arcade machine. You wouldn't play smash bros melee on a xbox controller, right
I love this goat just sitting here with a CRTV telling me how to master a 23 year old game lmao
Make sure to yell "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH" in sync with the music to improve your driving.😊
0:23 - 2:27 Gear Shift
2:28 - 5:01 Crazy boost/ Limiter boost
5:02 - 6:56 Drifting/ Steering sharply
6:57 - 8:10 Aiming while stopped (Turning while stopped)
8:11 - 8:40 Congrats!!! (Now you're "gud")
8:41 - 9:16 Crazy reverse boost
9:18 - 11:30 Crazy stop
11:31 - 14:05 The ollie
14:06 - 16:10 Perfect timing explained
16:11 - 19:36 Conclusion (*GAMING*)
Thanks for the tips :D

great explaination. I got $84.000+ without knowing how to drift by holding the gearshifter in D. Always had a hardtime doing that one trial in crazy pyramid
This is the clearest, and most helpful Crazy Taxi guide that I've found. Thank you

This is a Master Class.
I Learned this a Loooooog time ago when i first got the game for the dreamcast .. yes its true they do a poor job at explaining it 😂 great video and details on how the macanics work🔥
At higher speeds the crazy stop only works if you perform a crazy dash (here called crazy boost) right before.

Is the Sega All Stars version different? I have to hold the analog stick forward as I press B and R trigger while holding them down.
good video!

Me too but I got a Dreamcast a few months ago again. Its still really fun and I got the racing wheel for it. Recommend it still holds up. 👍
@@robert5235 Is the racing wheel any good for Crazy Taxi?
Bro these would been really useful when I played it 😂😂
Thank you!

Did you play on the arcade machine?
@@benjaminyoung9694I have, and my highest is 58.8k using the strats from these videos and just overall learning how to manipulate the RNG
you know they are developing a new Crazy taxi done at Sega?
Haven't heard a peep about that
Any way to tell what version it is at arcades?
Isn’t it just arcade version?
the arcade version runs on Naomi hardware which is basically a souped up Dreamcast.
Crazy taxi 3 you can Ollie by pressing Y LOL
Isn't all this explained in Crazy Pyramid?
nope
