We have had to replace the cables that connect the display with the microwave twice. the cables keep getting pinched as the door opens and closes. Very common issue with this particular microwave.

Yes it's still working just as good as it did the day we bought it. We still love it and have had 0 issues with it. Yes you can see the food cooking inside of it. Admittedly your view isn't as clear as some other microwaves out there. That said, for what you were describing you should be able to see in just fine. Thank you for supporting my channel!
I have the same microwave & it just stopped working today. Its less than 2yrs old. It triggered the fuse 2 times so I had to reset. Worked fine for a few days than just stopped working today. Very frustrating.
Such a nice looking unit but ours is no longer functional after 3 years. First certain buttons stopped working on the door panel, and then it stopped working at all. GE gave us a new door panel and it still doesn't work. Door was nearly $500 and now I'd need another $150-200 main board part to fix it. I am not happy.... Any idea how hard it is to install a new main board? Is it a DIY type of thing?
Sounds like you may potentially have a defective door latch mechanism. If you're unit is under 1 year old, call GE and set up a service call. They will repair it free of charge.
For those watching, I'd avoid GE microwaves. This exact unit is tripping our breaker anytime it's asked to cook. It's a common problem with GE devices that the microswitches go bad after a few years.

Most likely it is not the main board, in my case it was the cables connecting the door to the microwave.
