The touch pad was the most useful part of the system. Touching a screen while driving is more distracting than using the pad which had haptic feedback. I used the pad while on the move and the touchscreen when standing still because with the pad you feel the clicks and know exactly what you were selecting. You don't have to look down at it. Ask yourself why it isn't removed from the GLE or GLS. It is because it was a cost cutting measure for their small cars but with a higher price tag. The new Mercedes CEO is prioritising profits over user experience and actual quality. This way they make more profit on their compact range. And why would you be glad it is gone? They just removed another option of controlling it. It was always a touch screen. That little storage thing is useless anyway. It can't even fit a phone... Also, there was a point where you said the gearbox gets confused then at the end you say its a good gearbox. Its awful. My glb would lurch and clunk when it got hot in traffic too.
I don't understand why Mercedes Benz keep GLA and GLB in the local market and delete GLE coupe and GLC coupe which are more popular and more attractive and they sell more
I'm still searching for the premium finishes. The GLB I had has a similar interior and there's nothing premium about it. Its use of materials isn't any better than many mainstream brands and the build quality is worse than most. It just feels like an exercise in cost cutting to me and the pricing is not justified. An Omoda C9 is bigger and more premium with better premium finishes at a much lower price while coming with more tech as well as real nappa leather seats and fully adaptive dampers. They even removed the touch pad thing from the GLA and a few other things yet the price doesn't reflect that. I am so over the legacy brands now. I have been a Mercedes owner for years but there is no way I would get a new one. The new ones can't hold a candle to the rock solid feel and engineering of the late 2000s early 2010s Mercs where the pricing felt justified. It doesn't have the power. So you think maybe it has the tech. But it doesn't have that either since it is all expensive optional extras. Oh but maybe it has the build and material quality. No, it doesn't have that either. So what the heck are you paying for??! Also Greg, sorry to say but your point about it costing that much is justified because of the ride is off. This car does not ride like a million rand. It's like you guys are afraid to properly criticize these brands. I heard from some journalist that Mercedes said they won't send him cars because he was "too critical" of it. These legacy brands are desperate to sell their overpriced nonsense.
Yeah, it is overpriced considering that there's Jaecoo J7, Omoda C9, Haval and Cherry, at this point to these German machines we are paying for the brand, there have been many reports of Mercedes now using plastics and not proper materials 😹
I don't own a car yet, but i just know my first car gotta have a sunroof 😹😹
"Wireless Apple Android" 🤣 has a "ring" to it 🤣👌🏾
My English bundles were depleted 😂
They are too ambitious with that price 1 million, 550k nothing more.
Imgine parting with almost 1 million cash, or 20k every month for this
