So happy to see you here!! This video was so nice to watch :) You are a natural in front of the camera ... and you really made me want to bake these! I only have yoghurt and frozen blueberries, but I'll absolutely make these later tonight! I have so many cookbooks, but yours are the ones I take out a lot because the recipes are so accessible :D My favorites are the Rugelach (i get requests to make these all year round) and your Pizza dough is my absolute favorite thing, it always works, no matter how much time I have!
DEB!!! you raised me!!! literally started reading Smitten Kitchen when I was just learning to cook at the end of high school..15ish years ago. Welcome to TH-cam!
I love love love your website, have followed you for years! I have your first cookbook, get your newsletters and have made countless of your recipes, you've never led me astray. Always recommend your site to friends only to hear they already follow you. Now I have to go make some blueberry muffins!!! I really enjoyed being in your kitchen, just like hanging with a friend. The video was great, I am sure all the ones you make will be a success.
This has quite literally MADE. MY. WEEK!! I’m a devotee from the early days and I’m so happy to see (semi-)live action videos of your kitchen wizardry. Thank you for taking the plunge and inviting us to come along!!
welcome to youtube, deb. it is so wonderful to have you here and to see you in action. i feel like i'm hanging out in your kitchen, which is wonderful. best of luck with this project.
So happy to see you in action! FINALLY. I love your writing, humor, your commitment to making cooking sooo much more friendly. And then, and then a snippet of your beautiful red head. Oh Deb, so glad you are here.
Deb, you are so much fun to watch. I have to be honest, if a recipe calls itself the "Perfect" anything, I am immediately skeptical. But...this recipe IS PERFECT! I used 195 g of all-purpose einkorn flour and omitted the lemon zest (sorry, not a lemon fan). My old favorite blueberry muffin has just been demoted. Thank you!
Happy Birthday, Deb! I have been smitten with you for years! I have shared your recipes with friends and family and said, “Look no further than SmittenKitchen.com for the best recipe website.” Led me astray? Never! I cook with confidence when I use your recipes. The “insane amount of blueberries” helps the muffins stay warm for the drive to my daughter’s house. I attended your book signing in Austin in 2017. You gave more of your time than expected by chatting with me and other customers as you inscribed our books. I’m happy to see you on TH-cam. And Anna, an extra special treat! One of my favorites: Tres Leches Cake
You know we all think of you as our best friend, right? I too have followed you for years, whenever I am searching for something delicious to cook, I search first for Smitten recipes and it’s so fun to see you in action! I think everyone in my family adores you (again, we all think you’re our bestie. 🤣) My favorite, easy weeknight recipe is One Pan Farro w/tomatoes. This recipe has made my husband embrace a meatless dinner. Bless you for that!! Thank you for the way you always explain your recipes. You’re a gem!!
It's literally giving me SO MANY SMILES to see you doing this!!!!! I know you don't know all of us followers personally, but I LOVE what you do and always go to your blog for inspiration and go-to recipes! Also I love that your son commented on your post. It's so funny and sweet. Go you! We love you!
Girl! We've been making your blueberry muffins for years! You're the reason I ALWAYS have blueberries in my freezer. I've made the recipe plenty with fresh and frozen, and I can't tell the difference, honestly.
Your cookbooks (and website) are a mainstay in my life and I feel like you are part of my family...this is just making me smile. Love reading the comments, too. Apparently I am not the only one!
welcome to TH-cam Deb, it's been too long in coming! I have loved your blog for years and now we get to see your lovely face and warm personality. Looking forward to the journey
JUST realized you have videos now! So so excited! I've been following you since the beginning. Dinner was one of your recipes last night. Thrilled to see you in action!
Have loved your blog for years and am so thrilled to see you on TH-cam! A baker who doesn't like to plan ahead? Too relatable; we have needed you here!
I just pulled these out of the oven!!!! They look like yours!!! Yyyiiipppeee!!! Wish I could show you a picture! I used avocado oil butter, egg replacer and plain oat yogurt to make them vegan. The husband (not a vegan) is sampling just now... Let's see what he thinks... He likes them! They are delightful! Oolala!!! Thank you Deb!! Can't wait for your next cookbook!!!
That voice I have been reading for years is perfect for TH-cam! You are a natural. My 3 adult daughters and I have always counted on your recipes for tasty success. Oh...and show us your pie crust!
I'm one of the thousands of people who feel as if we are friends, because you always make us feel this personal connection! I really want to try these now. I've baked many, many of your recipes; the ones I come back to the most are your key lime pie (every year on Pi Day) and the chocolate celebration cake which I make for big celebrations. Also every time you have an ice cream sandwich suggestion. Thanks for everything you do!
Most of the recipes I make often are from your blog, so excited to see you on TH-cam!! Also, you are exactly as darling and charming here as in the written word.
I am so excited you finally did a TH-cam channel! I love seeing your cheerful face and your recipes are always my go-to. Your Ultimate Banana Bread and most perfect Pecan Pie (that isn’t too kludgy or overly sweet) gets rave reviews at every function. My niece and nephew cried when they had to go home because they were going to miss my (your) banana bread. I told them I gave the recipe to their mom and they were SO HAPPY.
My wife told me to subscribe to your channel, which I think is only fair because I’ve had those delicious muffins many a time (among other recipes). Welcome to TH-cam!
The first recipe I ever made from smitten kitchen was the Grasshopper cake, it was definitely about 10 years ago and I was a teenager. All my friends and family loved it. Since then I have always followed your blog and made so many dishes and have so many favourites. Deb, you are my hero. Sending you all the best from Estonia!
I have been following you since 2006 maybe? I love your recipes, many have become family favorites. Congratulations and best wishes for your continued success!
You're so warm and lovely on camera! (just the way your food writing comes across!) Definitely making these on the weekend. Loved this - can't wait to see future videos!
This recipe, blueberry muffins, is actually my favorite from smitten kitchen every day. I had always used joy of cooking's recipe until this one. My daughter is skeptical about any food she has decided is not plain (noting mushroom pizza is "plain") so I usually leave the blueberries out of a couple to promote family peace. Great first video, Deb! Knocking it out of the park!
You have helped feed me for my entire adult life, I have both your cookbooks, and just made the “I want chocolate cake” cake two weeks ago. Looking forward to more videos!
Thank you for the 1 bowl muffin recipe- They look SO fluffy! I love the idea of sugar on top for that crunch factor without the fuss of a crumb! I can't wait to make these!
Delicious! And as much as I hate when people comment and then say they substituted or messed around with the recipe, I have to say I substitutes some raspberries for some blueberries for 4th of July and they are fantastic. Thanks!
The fact that you've started a youtube channel is exactly the kind of news I needed today!!! Yay Deb! Thanks for years of beautiful food on your blog, and looking forward to lots more culinary adventures on youtube :D
I have read so many of your recipes over the years - what a treat to see your face! We love this recipe! My family of 5 is never quite happy with 9 muffins, though. :)
hey deb! great to see your face! i have made these muffins at least 20x (making them again today on request) and I can confirm that they are THE MOST PERFECT muffins that ever muffed. i am not a baker. in fact, I am terrible at it. but with this recipe I am a star. seriously, they are so beautiful I could sell them. thanks for making me look like a champ! i use a giant muffin tin and the recipe makes 6.
Met you when you came to Chicago on your book tour. You were so gracious to all the hordes that night. Love the new videos. Your personality really shines through!
I've made these muffins sooooo many times and each time, I just lose my mind. The kitchen smells so good. I've also made them using strawberries. They get a little messier with the strawberries, but still so good. Thanks for another fabulous recipe.
i'm so happy you're on youtube now! i'm so thankful for your chill "it doesn't need to be perfect" energy-it's really refreshing :) i have too many favorite recipes to name but confetti cookies, broccoli rubble, and pasta e ceci are old favorites of mine!
Deb, I have been reproducing your recipes in my kitchen for.....well, many many years. Before you got famous! LOL I don't recall how I found you online but I am so happy I did. I became a committed fan. Your recipes are easy to follow with easy to obtain ingredients and the results always prove to be delicious. The cookbooks I own of yours are all dog earred and stained, proving their frequent use. I have passed your name along to everyone I know. Thank you for doing all the hard work. You make my cooking and baking a joy everyday. Keep up the good work!!! Congratulations on the TH-cam channel!!
Waking up to the newsletter announcing that the woman who taught me to cook is on TH-cam! Best news ever, and these muffins are foolproof and delicious. Those crunchy tops. So excited for this, Deb!
So much fun to watch you in action Deb! I've been reading and following your recipes for years, but the video is even more inspiring. I make your butternut squash/caramelized onion galette and various snacking cakes often (the rhubarb is my favorite), but would really love to watch you make a recipe I haven't tried yet: your Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Coffee Cake.
Dev so happy to see you on TH-cam! I have followed you for years and you blog was my go to for every first time bake. Love, love that we get to see you now too.
My go to recipe for blueberry muffins. So tender and flavorfull. The best muffins, in just one bowl.. We were at an in in Boothbay Harbor Maine and they were serving these. I recognized them and asked one of the owners. She said her brother made them, it was his mother-in-law's recipe and wouldn't give it out. When she said he used frozen berries and used more than asked for, I knew I was right. I gave her the website.
I've been making your recipes for 14 years, including the wedding cake I made for my friend. You always have the best recipes. So excited for your newest endeavor!
Deb! Whoohoo! Welcome to YT. Have always loved your blog and own your books. Looking forward to more. I think overal my fav of yours is the Huevos Rancheros.
Deb! It's so fun that your are on TH-cam! I have been reading your blog forever and TH-cam is my Covid habit, so I am so glad you are here! Blueberry muffins are def. on the menu soon!
Will be making these immediately! I’m watching all your episodes and first I need to say, you are adorable and your recipes are consistently fantastic. Also, I have missed the OG Food Network: cooks in kitchens showing us how to make a recipe with lots of tips. No contests, no game shows, just a warm and friendly cook in the kitchen showing us how to make things I would attempt at home. You are filling that void for me! Thank you! Love these so much and I will watch them all, forever and ever 😊
I’ve made these multiple times and they never miss. Best recipe I’ve ever used for blueberry muffins, no contest. The sugar on top is a must. The muffin tops are the very definition of the word TOOTHSOME. You’re the best, Deb!
Welcome to my TH-cam channel! Do you have a favorite Smitten Kitchen recipe you’d like to see in a video? Let me know!
So happy to see you here!!
This video was so nice to watch :) You are a natural in front of the camera ... and you really made me want to bake these! I only have yoghurt and frozen blueberries, but I'll absolutely make these later tonight!
I have so many cookbooks, but yours are the ones I take out a lot because the recipes are so accessible :D
My favorites are the Rugelach (i get requests to make these all year round) and your Pizza dough is my absolute favorite thing, it always works, no matter how much time I have!
so so so thrilled you're on TH-cam!!! I love your work. I'd love to see a cookie episode, perhaps with rugelach & confetti cookies (my SK go-to)!
I would love to see Tacos! Any tacos. Your favorite tacos please!
My favourite recipes from you are corn chowder with lime and cotija and braised ginger meatballs in coconut broth.
Big Crumb Coffee Cake is one of my absolute favourites!
DEB!!! you raised me!!! literally started reading Smitten Kitchen when I was just learning to cook at the end of high school..15ish years ago. Welcome to TH-cam!
After so many years of reading your recipes, it's lovely to see your face.

Oh, Deb! You're a natural on camera! My goodness, this is going to be fun.
I have made these a hundred times (at least!). I love them the next day split open, broiled for a minute and then smeared with salted butter.
Yes! They are soooo good toasted and buttered!
You are a natural! Watching, I felt like I had come to your apartment for a visit and you spontaneously decided to make some mouthwatering muffins😀
So happy to see you in action! FINALLY. I love your writing, humor, your commitment to making cooking sooo much more friendly. And then, and then a snippet of your beautiful red head. Oh Deb, so glad you are here.
