Everyone at WWE has health insurance except the people who actually put their bodies on the line night in and night out (The wrestlers) its purposterous.
Pretty disgusting that Vince still won’t offer health insurance to his talent unless they’re officially employed and once they’re employed you get in trouble for taking bumps.
A guaranteed contract isn't really a guaranteed contract. It's like the nfl. You sign a contract with a team. They can still cut you at any time. But at least they do guarantee a certain amount of money that they have to pay no matter what happens.
You're right, a guaranteed contract isn't 100% guaranteed just because of the name. If you want your money to be 100% guaranteed, it needs to be painstakingly written in as such, and at that point your employer probably won't sign it.
In the AFL (Australian football league) a contract is just used for players and teams to barter better deals now. Depending how long they have been in the league, an out of contract player can leave the club they are playing for by either going to the draft, or leave via free agency. If a player is currently contracted, an opposition team has to negotiate a trade, so clubs and players agree to "contract extensions" to get better deals from opposition teams. Contracts are basically barter items now days.

Public health is crap, you sit on waiting lists for years and years getting sicker and sicker and by the time you get your surgery the problem has gone beyond the planned surgery so you are basically back at square one, private insurance isnt perfect ,but its better than public health, take it from someone who lives in a country with a national health service.

Joshua Quinn Well, aren’t you adorable. Everything that’s not WWE = indies in your mind, probably because you have the attention span of a fly. No, NJPW is the second largest promotion in the world with plenty of fans all around the world. Please educate yourself first
@Joshua Quinn The article you posted is from 2015, NJPW has grown significantly by now and has a large following all around the world. They sold out MSG and would have most likely done so again this year if it weren't for this pandemic. Also the Wikipedia article you quote specifically states that NJPW is NOT an indie promotion. They sell out Tokyo Dome every year, they went to England, MSG as I mentioned, and so on. So not an indie promotion by any standard. However I do apologise for the attention span comment, I'm a bit of a hothead
@Joshua Quinn marks... Using that word in a derogatory way makes you sound pretty stupid tbh. What difference does it make anyway who buys the tickets? It's an arena full of WRESTLING fans (or marks if you insist) smh. I'm a mark for good wrestling, because I WANT to enjoy and believe what is happening in the ring.
Joshua Quinn are you Jims pet parrot, minus the brain? Because you just mindlessly repeat snippets of things Jim Cornette says. I like wrestling, as in believable, sport-based wrestling. NJPW is the most sport-based promotion you‘ll find. No soap opera shit, no love triangles, just hard hitting wrestling. And yes there is flippy stuff too, but I don’t mind it as much as Jim does, as long as it’s not goofy. You cleary never watched a single NJPW match, if that’s all you reduce it down to. I‘m under a Jim Cornette video because he is the only „wrestling journalist“ or whatever that I can still take seriously, because I agree with about 90% of what he says. Saying nobody fucks, when the nobody fucks sell out MSG is just idiotic. Just because YOU think they suck and their fans are idiots doesn’t mean shit, because you are a mark yourself just for other promotions (SD/RAW?) Also why is everyone so fucking militant about the promotions they enjoy, I like NXT, NJPW, AEW, NWA in this order and for different reasons. If you only watch RAW/SD (god knows how you do it, without cutting yourself) go ahead, have fun, but please let me know why you enjoy it. Sorry for the rant, thank you fuck you bye
Basically like in most of the Trucking Industry with trucker owners being "leased" to a Trucking company or "lease purchase" gimmicks (buying the truck from the company) You supposed to be an Independent Contractor and most say "No Force Dispatch" but that's bs for the most part...
WWE contracts benefit the WWE, not the wrestler signing it. If i were either of those two and I was that unhappy, I wouldn't have signed anything without guaranteed money.
They're just tossing money at guys to hang out at home, house shows and catering or to be jobbers then let em go when value is totally gone. If you want easy money quick, there ya go. Yikes. WWE ain't the end all be all now but the fact this is how they operate must be deeply saddening for those working their way up with dreams of getting there. Wonder if it'll be any different when someone else takes over as I've lost interest in watching live, maybe I'd come back.
Vince is the Tom Walkinshaw of wrestling, the only difference is that walkinshaw got himself sued by three different drivers in two years when he fucked them on their contracts with his F1 team, but then again walkinshaw was also famous for telling sponsors and suppliers to shut up or fuck off when they'd start asking questions about team performance or late payments for services.
I'm a lifelong WWE fan and I've put up with everything from Mae Young giving birth to a hand to a snake charmer match and I grinned and beared it. This though, this is so shitty of Vince McMahon, I honestly don't know if I can watch ever again. This is the worst thing he's ever done and that says a lot.
A bit surreal hear Jim talking about not honoring contracts considering the dozens of stories I hear of Jim wanting to quit or out right quitting when working with Russo.
Another thing that really sucks about the whole situation with the releases is, even though the WWE are saying "We Don't Want You Working For Us Anymore" and then firing these guys and gals. Only to tell them afterward, "Oh Yeah, And By The Way, You Still Have To Follow Our 90 Day Non-Compete Clause So You Can't Work Anywhere Else For 3 Months Either, Pal"!!!
Vince : “ here’s your contract” Wrestlers: “yeah I’ll sign that” Vince : does something that’s in the contract that the wrestler signed Fans : “tHiS IsNt fAiR 😭”
After crying for months that WWE should let these ax act wrestlers go so they can be used properly elsewhere.now they’ve gone they’re all crying about it lol
There are rules relating to contracts though. In the UK we have unfair terms in consumer contracts legislation for example. Also wrestlers signing a contract is a bit like me agreeing to the terms of a bank account - I HAVE TO if I want to get paid. This is especially the case now that WWE is close to the only game in town.
Aren't all the fired WWE wrestlers receiving a three month severance and other employees are giving a severance and unemployment. When house shows start, a lot of the road employees will be hired back? Just asking! Keep up the good work!

one of our unions was trying to get Walmart employees of a new store here to join the union.
Walmart just said "oh, the store's not making enough money"
& they closed their new store...
Where was this?
@@patrickmorrissey3084 Pretty sure it happened several times but I can confirm this happened in Quebec, Canada.
That's generally what happens. Unions in 2020 are not like steelworker unions in 1920. It has become politicized beyond their usefulness. No one is forcing anyone to work anywhere... Don't like your job? Leave and get a different job. Don't like how the WWE runs their business? Start your own unionized promotion. Then people like me will laugh and point as it crashes and burns in about 6 months because most who bitch about this type of thing know jack shit about what they're bitching about.
YQu're being TrQlled exactly. Unions have become completely politicized.
so do they have to pay them for the year even if they release them i know in baseball if you have contract they have to pay the contract
WWE is a blight pro wrestling allowed grow, fester and bloat. It doesn't just spread but it attacks and takes from anything healthy, directing blood and nutrients its way to continue its unsustainable growth as the rest of the body withers away and dies. Monopolies are self sustaining by definition, yes, but they also tend to be stagnant, and in a dying industry that self sustainability is not the same thing as immortality. Stagnation does nothing to stop necropsy from setting in, growth at the body's expense is just accelerating its death and without the body it ravages the blight will also die.
I never understood why they called him No Way Jose til this exact moment.
because he is always in denial
It show you that wrestler need a union.. in WWE
No one in WWE will that
you think WWE is bland now? Wait till they unionize...it will kill wrestling
Glenn Ross, wrestling has been dead for years.
@@terrybrooks597 pretty much yeah....a union will be he final nail in the coffin, unions represent sameness, uniformity, it wont work with something like wrestling where individuality is everything
btw: I like your books
I wish they were my books, I was only named after the author.
Trump promised he'd be president, AND he payed for it.
Still love Cornie tho, even if we disagree politically.
Yeah I am kind of surprised Jim is on the SJW Feminist Transgender Trump hate train. He is smarter than that, but programming is programming. I guess its not all that surprising since the elite got everyone hating Trump.
Magick..... is Cornette really? I thought he was a southern conservative with common sense.
@@dennisjr77 Is he really what? He hates Trump like most people. Most people just like and hate what most other people do. Followers. I joke about the SJW, feminist, TS thing because every single one of those people hate Trump. People just don't have a clue what is going on on this planet.
Magick..... most people in California and media hate him because they’re sheep.... the rest of us.... not so much.
@@dennisjr77 Well, its the media that people listen to. That is how you control what people think. It snowballs from there.
I remember wwe wanted the young bucks in the contract said you can work here for 90 days after that if you dont like working here you can leave
They fucking released Mike Chioda of all people. How.
They're independent contractors until challenged in court.
Nobody has the balls to unionize.
...because most people who bitch about wanting to "unionize" don't even know what the fuck they're doing. Nor do they seem to understand business or supply and demand factors.
Everyone at WWE has health insurance except the people who actually put their bodies on the line night in and night out (The wrestlers) its purposterous.
"Sounds like a '70's gay porn star." - Jim, you are a god. 'Nuf said.
These thumbnails are always great.
Pretty disgusting that Vince still won’t offer health insurance to his talent unless they’re officially employed and once they’re employed you get in trouble for taking bumps.
Wait he liked Gallows and Anderson back then?
Also does he mean Dangerous Danny Davis when he refers to the guy running OVW?
@13:15 "I've never been any employee of anything.." and having tax deductions, insurance etc like the rest of us. What a run Jimmy has had, 57 yrs old, never worked a job outside of wrestling...
See, this why we need Medicare4all.
Currently, if you lose your job, your family loses its health insurance.
Does everyone here see why rich people are against Med4all?
Uh, you can keep your health insurance benefits through COBRA if you lose your job unless you qualify to be on your spouse's insurance.
@@glennross85 take it from someone who lives in the US....our insurance industry is absolute shit. We pay out the nose in Premiums all for the "pleasure" of having to then pay ridiculous co pays and crippling deductibles.
It's a predatory system rigged to fuck the middle class
That’s why Jesse Ventura always had an ace up his sleeve if Vince ever fired him.
Ventura got his health coverage from SAG anyway! (Screen actors guild)
If they are not employees, does Titan Sports avoid paying payroll taxes?
He had four members of the bullet Club International ready-made stable, a great tag team and Gallows and Anderson let me let him go... WTF they were never used right.
They were some of the few that were willing to work in this pandemic and he let's them to go.
@Joshua Quinn lol the stuff in njpw is way better then the stuff in wwe. Now i think your out of touch...
Just because YOU think they suck and their fans are idiots doesn’t mean shit, because you are a mark yourself just for other promotions (SD/RAW?)
Also why is everyone so fucking militant about the promotions they enjoy, I like NXT, NJPW, AEW, NWA in this order and for different reasons. If you only watch RAW/SD (god knows how you do it, without cutting yourself) go ahead, have fun, but please let me know why you enjoy it.
Sorry for the rant, thank you fuck you bye
They signed them to those ridiculous contract last summer in order to entice AJ Styles to stay.
I'm sad that Rusev was given the arse,WWE proved that they didn't know how to use him as a talent
17:10 Hahaha indentured servitude. That was great.
Bill Demott's old wrestling name was Hugh Morrus? That's funny...
Basically like in most of the Trucking Industry with trucker owners being "leased" to a Trucking company or "lease purchase" gimmicks (buying the truck from the company)
You supposed to be an Independent Contractor and most say "No Force Dispatch" but that's bs for the most part...
WWE contracts benefit the WWE, not the wrestler signing it. If i were either of those two and I was that unhappy, I wouldn't have signed anything without guaranteed money.
The TH-cam gets me every time
That's something a dark side of wrestling to do if anybody had any old WCW WWF WWE contracts
I've always wondered how much money VINCE owes
TIME WARNER!
Do we know what they got paid out on the contract upon release? Either way seeing people defend WWE is ridiculous.
The contracts are structured to protect wwe not the talent
I do genuinely think Vince McMahon wants to destroy wrestling before he dies, no one is this delusional and out of touch
but this is what he's always done.
this is how he is.
He already has. He killed wrestling 13 years ago.
Hey Pal. You're Fired
Where's the Mind aka the Body.We need his help on this topic
That was Obama's entire presidency.
Thanks
Jim showing some ankle in that thumbnail
take a cold shower, pal!
Love these cartoons where Jim is getting owned 🤣
Even if he doesn’t like you, if you’re one of the boys... Jim fights for you
What is this country where talent is strangled by contracts, but this company can break them whenever?
I'm a lifelong WWE fan and I've put up with everything from Mae Young giving birth to a hand to a snake charmer match and I grinned and beared it. This though, this is so shitty of Vince McMahon, I honestly don't know if I can watch ever again. This is the worst thing he's ever done and that says a lot.
Didn't Roddy Piper get massive heat for even mentioning union, back in the day?
This artist rendition tho! 🤣😂
Why always the comments on trump? Can’t you just talk about wrestling.
Vince : “ here’s your contract”
Wrestlers: “yeah I’ll sign that”
Vince : does something that’s in the contract that the wrestler signed
Fans : “tHiS IsNt fAiR 😭”
After crying for months that WWE should let these ax act wrestlers go so they can be used properly elsewhere.now they’ve gone they’re all crying about it lol
pretty much
I'd say the problem isn't that Vince is doing things that are written in the contract, it's his choice of WHEN to do them.
@Joshua Quinn "You can literally sign a contract with another promotion and work for them..." not right now you can't
I want Cornette to read my eulogy
Still got the TDS.
Aren't all the fired WWE wrestlers receiving a three month severance and other employees are giving a severance and unemployment. When house shows start, a lot of the road employees will be hired back? Just asking! Keep up the good work!
No Way Jose was an interesting phenomenon. He got a crappy gimmick over in NXT, but there was no reason to think it would translate to the main roster.
Cornette will have to vote for Biden.
