Hans-Peter your videos are much appreciated! I couldn't figure out how to shift the octave upward in the left part of the split keyboard and you made it clear and simple. Thank you!

Anybody know how to save patches to the number buttons. I tried changing the patches and saving them as a performance, but when I turn off the keyboard, it all goes away. All the tutorials on TH-cam focus on how to layer & split. However, I need to store to quickly change the patches when playing live.

Thank you for the videos. I recently bought the MX 61 and 88. I put together 30 performances for a concert last week, and I would like to know how to change the order of my performances without deleting them. My band has a set list of 30 songs. For example, if we decide to change the order of the songs, how do change my keyboard to reflect the same order as out setlist? Thank you in advance.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but have you tried editing on your computer? If I understood correctly, there's more than one software to do that, like John Melas' or Vycro.

You can set your split point by holding down the split button and pressing the key where you want the split. Why do all that extra edit parameter button pushing?

Thank you for the tutorials. They are very informative. I'm curious though, according to the manual, the split point can be changed simply by holding the split button down and pressing the split point on the keyboard. The menu diving you demonstrate would make it very difficult to adjust the split live. Have you tried this quick method?

I saw the demo man (Blake) do just that at a NAMM show demo.

This is 100% correct. I have an MX61 and can confirm it works just like that.

Milan Maru, thanks for the info. I was at NAMM and had a chance to play the MX88. Hard not to like it. It has most of the sounds of my Yamaha S90es, weighted action, easy splits (for those of us that kick bass) and most importantly for us over 60 players still gigging, it's 20lbs lighter! Most likely it will be my next keyboard.

I agree, I do love my MX but I wish it had the motif style sliders so you can do more than just layer OR split.
I also wish I could send out the split voice to another midi controller. I might start looking for a Motif XF.

upper split goes out as MIDI ch2, lower as MIDI ch1, so you can run a module from either half of the split and turn the voice volume down on the outgoing split if you don't want to hear the MX voice. You could actually turn off the volumes on the MX and run two sets of modules, one receiving ch1 and the other receiving ch2. I highly recommend the passive 1->4 MIDI splitter that like Sweetwater sells for $50(MIDI solutions quadra-thru) my MX88 drives that flawlessly and I then can run 4 modules parallel to each other so they are all clocked the same. then you can run MIDI through 1 time and daisy chain another module onto each of those for a total of 8 without clock problems

Is there a way to assign a specific voice to each of the 4 knobs? Say I want a strings in the 1st one, Bass in the 2nd one, a Pad in the third and a different piano voice in the 4th. Is there a way I can do that while having the piano as the main voice and just use the knob to increase the sound of whatever voice I choose? Thanks!

Anyone know how to write over the factory performances that have drum tracks and effects? When I try to write over one that has drums, the patches do indeed write over top of the factory patches, but the drums and effects do not go away. Help!

Question... I have the MX88 in my studio. I wanted to know if after the split point can I have the left side/mono record to let's say track 1 and the right side record on track 2 in Studio One? thank you.

So, no blank user performances, you have to overwrite a factory performance to save one of your own?

Thank you for your informative videos. I purchased the MX49 yesterday after seeing rave review videos. I've been playing PSR type keyboards (currently the S910) for over 30 years, and this is very different. I was feeling depressed that I had no idea how this keyboard worked. Finally I have a starting point to get used. Also the absence of speakers is a bit bothersome, since aux out from mx49 to aux in on S910 is very low. None of my midi files work on the new keyboard (smf0? ). A long road ahead for sure.

Sir, I'm a transpose player. In PSR 3000 series, there is 8 saved preset so when I press it (the one below the screen), I have 8 preset (it's not just save the sound but it's include the point of the transpose. Exp number 1, I save C key, number 2 I save C# and number 3 I save D. So when I play song with increase in keys, I just press number 2 and when It goes up again, I just need to press 3). Is this keyboard have the same like PSR? Thank you so much b4

There's one thing I don't understand. Circa 1998 my entry level PSR-330 had better screen and more intuitive menus and controls.
