Jessica, amazing I felt the same way. I wanted what Patrick portrayed about love in Dirty Dancing. I'd been recommended the DVD and lent it by a friend but didn't fancy it because of the title. I'd just rowed with a boyfriend of three years. I was in alone over Christmas, bored and watched it. I had a eureka moment. I got back with the man who'd got between my boyfriend and I. It wasn't right with the boyfriend anyway. I ended up married to the other man and was blissfully happy until I was widowed. I remember watching a video when Patrick had passed 😢 and it showed his wife Lisa on their ranch selling his possessions, some of which I, personally, would have kept! ... Like his leather jacket from 'Dirty Dancing', (which brought him fame and fortune and obviously them both a great lifestyle!) and his 'precious teddy he had from birth'! ... How could she sell those items? ... It is like she wiped all trace from Patrick out of her life, and began dating and re-married not soon afterwards! ... I would like to know other people's opinions ... I don't think it is the love story everyone thinks it is! ... However, that is just my personal opinion, and I would be so grateful if anyone could persuade me otherwise, that she loved him to the end! x

Seeing this brings tears of joy and loss... They lived and danced their love.. I followed them because of Patrick and my rare form of pancreatic issues which now is cancerous... I am truly blessed with a man of respect and honour who does everything for me..
I was shocked to see that Patrick smoked... wouldn't have guessed due to his strength and fluid dancing... could watch he and Lisa forever... Whenever they are reunited what a dancing on the cloulds it will be..

I am so sorry for your loss. My husband passed away almost 8 years ago from cancer. I still miss him every single day. I cry everyday as well. Sometimes a song will provoke loving and/or romantic thoughts and the tears come and I can't stop it. Somedays, it's pretty much an all day thing. I don't tell people I know that- because if you haven't been through it, it's impossible to understand. I'm glad they haven't been through it~ but, it's my pain and grief and it's different for everyone. God bless you, that cancer is a painful disease and I know you BOTH went through so much and now you are left here with it all. I pray you find some peace as time goes by. xxx's

Patrick gave us so much light and love with his movies of course dirty dancing was my favorite it was my kids favorite and my 80 yr old moms favorite she would blast the soundtrack every sat morning!! This was my dream since I was a teenager because I am loving and a romantic man but unfortunately, it never happened. Today I am 51 years old and more than half of my life has already gone, now I realized as time goes by it becomes more and even more difficult to find what I am still looking for. I saw Patrick Swayze, waving to fans backstage when he was performing in " Guys and Dolls overhere in London. The atmosphere was electric although I wasn't PS fan per say and have never watched Dirty Dancing I too got caught up in the moment and was cheering like everyone else.
Yes true love does exist,it doesn't die either,I divorced in 20/10, me and my now ex husband remain friends,he visits regularly,I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in November 2020, when my son told him he was devastated,and just to mention he is not my children's Biological father but always being there for them.hes been on my journey with me chemo and all the side effects it comes with,taken and picked me up from appointment's,we love each other but just couldn't live together,I know he will be there to the end.RIP Patrick,you both had so much love for each other and that's what gave you strength to carry on and fight,because love gives you strength and strength makes you strong enough to fight as you did and it gives me strength to xx
