Yes, that weight would work well for this pattern. You'd probably use a US size E (3.5mm) crochet hook. The pattern has six sections and uses these approximate yardages: #1 (470 yds), #2 (50 yds), #3 (75 yds), #4 (65 yds), #5 (330 yds), #6 (200 yds): 1190 yards/1088 m total. Hi there, unfortunately, there is no good way to make the Adalia larger w/o re-writing the entire pattern. The only way is to use a larger hook or thicker yarn. I'm very sorry about that. Have a great day! 💚

Oh I love this pattern. I am going to try it. I have a beautiful lace weight that I want to try with a pattern. have an awesome day and thank you for your positive energy!! xo
Hi Chandi My question for you might sound silly for you but since this is my first attempt to read crochet pattern,Please bare with me Row 4 my understanding is, after the chain3 I need to put 2 more dc in the same chain, then after that is one dc for each of the following chain, then 2 dc in the fourth chain.* 1dc for the next 3chain then the following chain need to put 3 dc *,3 more times.I am familiar with crochet lingo. really appreciated you guidance. Thanks It is so easy to understand when you said i while you crochet in your tutorial.
Because the pattern notes in Row 2 that the "ch 3 (counts as 1 dc now and throughout)," in Row 4 the ch 3 is your first dc, and yes, you then need to dc twice into that first dc. Then for the next 3 dc, you dc into each. Then you make 2 dc into the next dc. This entire sequence is then repeated 3 times. Finally, for the next 3 dc, you dc into each, and make 3 dc in the final dc. I hope that helps to clarify. If you're still having trouble, you may wish to try a simpler pattern for your first attempt at reading a crochet pattern, and then return to Adalia when you're more comfortable with patterns.
I truly appreciate not only your skilled as a teacher but patient. Have you considered giving tutorial of understanding crochet pattern class.? since you are so clear in explaining. I'm sure there will be a lots of people wanted to sign up. for a fee of course.Again thank you so much.
Hi @expressionFiberArts I just purchased your pattern but having a huge problems with understanding row 9. Could you please explain especially the bit with SC in Ch Sp of Cl please?
Hi Micha, thank you for your comment. I'll try my best to help with Row 9. So in Row 8 you made clusters which are worked (3 double crochet, chain 2, 3 double crochet) into the same stitch so there is a chain 2 space in between. In Row 9 you will work a single crochet in this chain 2 space. I hope this makes sense and is helpful. Please let me know if you have more questions. Have a wonderful day! 💕
hi chandi! may I clarify what does the note after row 40 of portion 1 mean? "Break color A, join color B" this note is indicated every after each portion/section. Do I need to cut the working yarn upon finishing the last row and then weave the end?
Listening to you is great for self esteem thankyou for always making people feel better about themselves

Chandi, with the yarn i'm using it's coming out smaller. What sections should i repeat at the end? And the increases? Any suggestion? Tnks in advance😊
Hi there, unfortunately, there is no good way to make the Adalia larger w/o re-writing the entire pattern. The only way is to use a larger hook or thicker yarn. I'm very sorry about that. Have a great day! 💚
@@ExpressionFiberArts thks for your prompt reply! Understandable... an excuse to make another one!!!!
hiya shandy! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!!! its on my list.
Yay! I'm so glad that you like it! ❤️❤️
I've been working on learning to knit. I find it hard but I like the result, even mine. ( I'm becoming an expert at frogging.) I have to make this shawl though. It will be like taking a vacation from knitting. I've also been looking for a crescent shaped shawl pattern and this fits the bill perfectly. ps. I"m sure your trying to make peoples day a little better but I"m here to tell you it's working "beautifully"!
Thank you so very much! I appreciate the lovely compliment and I hope you enjoy the pattern. ❤️
I really like this pattern but can't find any place to download it. Thank you
I'm glad you like it. Our pattern links are always included in the video descriptions. This is Adalia, and you can find it at: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/adalia.html

Yes, correct! You've got it! ❤️
if I want to make it bigger/longer which portion should I repeat/do you recommend to repeat before I do the last portion for the edging?
Love this shawl, the shape and the pattern :-)
Thank you! 😊
so beautiful ths shawl................ i want its full tutorial..... how i will get???
