These ideas are really thoughtful and meaningful- thank you! ❤
I am decluttering one holiday tradition this year. It’s a $5.00 mystery gift-exchange game that always happens with my dad’s side of the family. This always stresses me out because you have to get something that will be appropriate for any age, which is a nearly impossible task…Even if you bought something that all people need and regularly buy (like a toothbrush), it probably won’t be the exact kind they like to use, and/or they will likely complain that it’s a boring gift. 😒 Also, I always end up with something I do not need nor want, so I just give it away or end up having to donate it…which usually offends the person who bought the item, and/or people call me “picky” or say I’m “too good for it” or something like that…😑
So I’m just not going to participate in it this year! 😌 I’m sure people will also have something to say about my decision to not participate (“I guess you’re just too good for it”), but I don’t care, and I don’t even owe an explanation! 🥳

This is a nice reminder to everyone of what to keep a check on and what categories to look through when considering decluttering. Reminding ourselves of the mental and virtual decluttering as well as the physical is essential. Great well reasoned and delivered video, Lia.

This was very timely for me. I'm always focused on the clothes but I have stacks of books I inherited years ago that I have never read. Its just too much. Time to pass them on.

When you talk about the things in the "to do list" you talk adout doing them and be done with it. But another option is to actually let go of those things. In my case I use to fix the staff that is broken, but some times those things just pile up. And I have to get rid of the thigs that I know I won't do, same with home projects and things like that. When you honestly know that you are not going to do it, is important to let it go and not having all that things in the to do list.
    Saludos from Argentina 💜

My mom keeps telling me that my buzzcut doesn't suit me every time I visit her. It's not holding me back, obviously, because I have already cut my hair 🤣 But it kinda weighs on me. I do really enjoy my appearance, no matter what hairstyle I have. So, I guess, I just have to embrace the fact that my closest person isn't comfortable with how I look anymore 😅 If someone is reading this, I would like to have a piece of advice on the situation. Sounds silly, I know, but it is as it is 🤣 I feel so much pressure when I visit my mom, though I've been living in another city for 7 years already.
P.S. Thank you for the video, Lia! It's extremely helpful 🥰

Ah, this. I was once guilty of reactively telling my son that I didn’t think his long fohawk hairstyle suited him. He told me that he really liked the look and was (rightfully) hurt by the criticism. I needed to hear that. So the truth is ~ your mom doesn’t have to like your look, you do. But make sure to tell her exactly what you said here. It’s not silly. It is important for her to know that she’s hurt your feelings and now you feel you’ve let her down somehow. Moms can have tunnel vision when it comes to their kids, but the love is (usually!) unconditional. Be yourself. Your mom doesn’t see you all of the time now, so in her mind, you still look the way she remembers you. Send her lots of photos so that she can see who you are now on a regular basis. It will help her to reset the mental image of the amazing and happy daughter she loves.

I wish my friends would stop trying to convince me I need a microwave. I have no need for microwave, when I have use of an oven.
They want the microwave for me. Yet I don't need it for myself. I have an oven. Hello!

I hate the morning, I get up as late as possible. Early rising just makes the day overly long and painstaking just to get to mid-day.

Item #1: the microwave. It takes up so much space and it sends out unhealthy radio waves. Bye! 👋
