    Was searching up videos of the herald scrambler and just realised that I own your herald scrambler. 😂

      Hope you have more luck with it than he did 🤣, have one myself and getting a bit worried reading the comments.

    fantastic quality bike. For the "won't start with the stand down" problem your dealer will show you how to sort that in a flash. For anti squeal, put a layer of plastic from a shopping bag between the pistons and the pads. I have a 250 retrostar which is essentially the same bike with twice the power and does 70+ mph easily. Happy riding!

    Great bike just saw their stand at Dublin bike show and they were very helpful explaining about all their bikes.

    My fuel line perished after a year,rear indicator packed in and replaced.I needed a new wiring loom but Herald don’t have any.It’s been sitting in the garage for a month.Think I’ll be selling mine once it’s repaired and serviced.

      Similar story mine. Does your rev counter still work? They go wrong a lot

      Disgrace that they're selling bikes they don't do parts for.

      @@jamesmccann8127 Parts for the Yamaha ybr 125 would probably be a good fit - given that's what most of the bike is based upon.

      Hi no I don't have the bike anymore it died in November 2020 I now have a Zontes. I had big problems with this bike from the start. The brakes were faulty, fuel line split emptying a full tank of petrol on the hot engine, rev counter stopped working, indicators let in water, electrics failed when raining, bike was hard to start if it got wet, front wheel bearing exploded, steering head bearing rusted causing pitting so the bike wouldn't steer properly and gear change problems. All this happened in less than 2 years to a bike I bought brand new. Herald are really difficult to speak to and that's if they even answer the phone that don't reply to emails. I would never recommend Herald to anyone. Look at the AJS Tempest scrambler it's basically the same bike with better build quality sold by a good company.

      @@Mean-bj8wp Hi thank you for replying I looked at the mutt as well & went for a demo ride I did like it it looks very similar in the frame as the herald did u consider this bike at all . How long have u had your current bike & have u had any problems . I am in the market for a small cc bike but don't want to waste money to . Thank you for your time most appreciated . Ro

      @@rolandstaines3249 i knew of the Mutt but no dealer near me. I wanted the AJS but they didn't have it in stock so went for the Herald, big mistake. I have. Zontes ZT125-U the vids of it on my channel its every bit as good as a Japanese bike but a lot cheaper honestly it's amazing. I recommend looking at the Zontes G1 scrambler is basically same bike as mine but with the scrambler look and it's brilliant.

      @Mean-bj8wp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah very very similar I actually went to look as the AJS scrambler but didn't have one in stock but they had this one. The only differences I believe are the tank shape (Herald 12ltr AJS 16ltr), the seats, the Herald has LED indicators and the AJS has braced handle bars.

      @Mean-bj8wp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eannamachale6028 I don't think so. I no longer have this bike I had lots of problems with it. Herald themselves were part of the problem. If you want the retro scrambler look at the AJS Tempest scrambler it's the same platform but with a higher build quality a d a company that's looks after its customers.

    • @jamesmccann8127
      @jamesmccann8127 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mean-bj8wp I don't see how AJS would be better quality, surely they'd all be build side by side at the same factory? Suppliers could certainly vary in support offered but the bikes i'd imagine would be the same. I have the classic 125 which is dry weather use only, fingers crossed i have more luck than you did. Not off to the best start though, leaking rear shocks and jerky clutch at only 1000km. It's a shame as a cracking little bike if only the quality was better.

    What problems did you have with it ?

    • @Mean-bj8wp
      @Mean-bj8wp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot. Whole brake system replaced, fuel pipe failed emptying full tank of petrol on to the hot engine, wheel bearing exploded, steering head bearings lost all grease if they had any and were do rusted I barely turn the bars, electrics are bad and was hit and miss whether the bike would start or not just riding on wet roads was enough for the engine to die, rust was a problem. When the bike worked it was great fun but I never knew when I left home if it would get me back again. AJS make the Tempest scrambler which is the same bike but a higher standard and the Mutts are even better. If you like scramblers look at the ZT125-G1. Don't go near the herald they are as bad as Chinese bikes 15 years ago.

      @@aidenisstubbly4974 to be honest I don't know about the Brat I believe its better but as you say there are mixed reviews. I currently ride a Zontes ZT125-U there are vids on my channel. I firmly believe its the best 125 available today for the price. The brands I would check out would be Zontes, Sinnis, Benelli and Keeway they all have good reputations. If retro bikes are what you're looking for then AJS, Mash, Bullit and Mutt would be where to look. Lexmoto has a good range of bikes and are the cheapest they are a budget brand the quality for the cost is not bad and has the biggest parts resource of all Chinese brands.
