    Beautiful blanket & in one of my favourite yarns too, which I use probably more then any other. I love the size too, I am planning to make at least two wheelchair blankets in 2023 so timing couldn’t be better.

      @@birgitta.jonsson I used yarn I already had which was Lion brand pound of love and I used 3 balls of that. I used a 6.5 crochet hook and starting chain was 184. It measures approximately 56 by 60 ... hope that helps you.

    I really love the basket weave stitch. Thank you for the stitch multiple and border. I’ll be using worsted instead, I have very little chunky yarn ❤ This would be beautiful for Mother’s Day or spring birthdays.

    • @minnahumble2294
      @minnahumble2294 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What crochet hook do you plan to use with worsted weight yarn?

    • @jeannakelly4174
      @jeannakelly4174 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@minnahumble2294 I’ll probably use a 6.00m. But it also depends on the yarn. If using something like Red Heart Super Saver, that yarn recommends a 5.5m hook. I would still use a 6.0m. Basket weave stitch tends to be a little stiff if the hook is too small. Might be a good idea to make a tension sample first to see what hook size works for you

    That’s beautiful 🥰 I like think sometimes one color is just beautiful, especially with a beautiful stitch definition like this. I love your cables. I have so many wips going now to complete but I didn’t even pick my hook up for 4 months after my brother died. I’ve just been doing very simple things. I purchased 4 skeins of that Caron o go in the new ombre yarn. They consider it a 5 but I’d say 3-4 weight. I would like to make a cardigan with it. I guess they consider the fuzzies to be a 5. It is a beautiful ombre. I haven’t found a pattern in that yet. Thank you for sharing and doing the tutorial. They really help. 🥰❤️❤️❤️

    Bonnie, I love your basket weave pattern & your directions are great. I'm working on the lap blanket now. I have a question: I'll be making 2 more after this, but for queen size beds. I'm wanting the blocks to be 7 stitches instead of 5. I "think" i have it figured but would love your advice. I've figured I'll need a chain of around 258. What do you think? I'll be using a 5.5mm hook

    • @BonnieBayCrochet
      @BonnieBayCrochet  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Would be hard to estimate not knowing your gauge and all, but here's a foolproof idea: crochet the width you think you will need in chains, then add several more. You can then undo any extras you will not be using. Here's a video to show you how: th-cam.com/video/6c_tKmmfn6Y/w-d-xo.html

    Since you use a size K hook for chunky weight yarn, would you say a J hook is a good choice for worsted weight? I normally do fine with recommended hook size so personal tendencies are not a factor for me. Also, what was the finished size of the blanket in your video?

    Would a 74 st starting chain be okay for a baby blanket?

      It really all depends upon several variables: yarn size, hook size, desired size of blanket, personal crocheting tendencies, etc.

    Hi, just bought the wool and about to start. Just checking when you start in 4th chain from the hook at the beginning do the first 3 chains count as a double crochet? ( is it 111 double crochets plus the 3 chains you skipped or are the 3 chains you skipped counted as a double crochet?) thanks.

      Chain does not count as a double crochet for this design.😊

    Hi Bonnie,this blanket is beautiful! I have been asked to make you Aran Hearts Afghan in a baby blanket. Can you give me a multiple for smaller size?

    • @BonnieBayCrochet
      @BonnieBayCrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can subtract multiples of 12 from the starting chain Dianne.

      @@diannedesroches2672 I did design a baby blanket version back in 2013 and the pattern is still available at Annie's when you purchase the pdf of the August 2013 Crochet World Magazine. You can watch the video and see. It is a yellow blanket. www.anniescatalog.com/detail.html?prod_id=101985&source=rvlry

      It took me a few tries and views of the video to figure this out lol... the original blanket is 114 chains, Bonnie says to subtract by 10s for smaller blankets...hope this helps...
