- The WORLD’s Most BRUTAL Street Car Challenge! Hot Rod’s “Drag Week” 2018 has OFFICIALLY launched and the competition has begun! With over 400 STREET CARS filling the pits of Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA, the tech lines have opened and testing lanes are full! Every year Hot Rod Magazine puts on the WORLD standard in STREET CAR tests, as they challenge any and all racer’s that believe they have a road worthy racecar! The insane popularity of this event only grows each year as pre-registration spots open up and sell out in under 10 MINUTES! These racer’s are only allowed to trailer their cars TO the event and from there they have to bring what they need to complete the 1,000+ EXHAUSTING miles. On top of the road trip, racers MUST make at least one pass at every track to stay in the competition, and at the end of the week their time slips are gathered, averaged, and from there each class winner is declared. It may sound simple, but every year only a fraction of the cars that enter…make it back to the the initial track to complete the punishing adventure!

The only way to enter the competition is to drive from track to track. If don’t make it, you get DQ’d!

cant fully agree theyre street cars, tho legally they are, but to keep the cars competitive after driving a long ways on roads thats a serious mechanical test, i love these drag week style deals
I don't know why there aren't more new muscle cars that can easily do this type of stuff, a hellcat with a pulley will run 9.60's and crusie to the next track perfectly, so will the others will some mild work - yet there are barely any. Same goes for GT-R's, the TT Lambos, Vettes etc
@@MaliciousSRT because this event was for the folks who have more skills and time than money. Sure. You can be boring and buy a lambo, or you can build a Nova for less money that will dust the rich dude in his lambo at the 1/4 mile. If you want to see cars that were bought and not built. Go to the gold rush rally.

Drag Week is going to get cancelled if it doesn't reschedule the locations. Hurricane Florence is going to wreck the area in NC/SC..... Go west to Alabama, Montgomery has a nice drag. I'm sure there are others.

Some of those cars are as "street car" as my lawnmower.
james nichols have plates, registration, insurance and will be driving 1000 miles on public roads in between drag racing each day. That makes them street cars. They are legal in whatever state (or country) they live in.
Gary Larson has a 7 second nova that won drag week overall multiple times and he drives it to work at least once a week.

Shoot if they live in Tennessee they barely hafto have doors or do they I know that the headlights can be held in place with baling wire and pass inspection my nephew did it in a S-10 and the windshield was cracked worse than a crack hoe
