I've slept under one every night since last October in a Sleeper of a big truck. I'm an over the road trucker, have washed this at least 50 times. still no reveling of any thread. No broken stitches. during the winter with the truck off, in places like Wisconsin, Illinois , Michigan, Pennsylvania, Upper New York. have slept quite nicely under this.
I have a Jungle Blanket XL. I have slept comfortably down to -4C (24.8F). With a bivy bag it give it a few more degrees of warmth. -8C (17.6F) is as cold as I've gone with it & was still comfortable, -10C (14F) is when I started feeling a bit of a chill. Without the bivy bag I can imagine that that the temps it can handle would be somewhat less. I plan to add a sleeping bag liner to the mix to see if that gives me a few more degrees of warmth. Either way, this is a perfect addition to my bug out bag.
I have had one of these for a few years and I even use it as my comforter on my bed. my room doesn't get heat in the winter so there are time I wake up and see my breath if it gets too cold i just add a wool blanket and i am golden. I love this product.
Nice overview. I love this blanket and think it's superior to the woobie. Sheds water and cuts the wind better, even if the size and loft are slightly less. When I weighed and compared them, I found them virtually identical in weight (within an ounce, as I recall). You said the woobie is lighter, so perhaps there are some manufacturing variations that cause weight to vary. At 1.5 lbs., this is a great lightweight option for hiking/camping with small kids, since they can snuggle under a blanket with you with less feeling of "confinement" compared to a generously sized (and much heavier) rectangular bag. Also, I ditch the compression sack. This squishes down nicely in the bottom of my pack to help support heavier items (mess kit, water, etc.) higher up near the center/upper part of my back, helping the load carry better. Keep up the good work, Luke. Love your channel and your positive attitude.
Snugpack's biggest problem, like everybody else other than Kelty and Hilleberg, makes their stuff sacks too small. They forget that they are packing up the tarp, tent, poncho, etc, in controlled conditions, not in the outside with rain, wind, etc. How hard or expensive could it be to just add another inch in every dimension to facilitate getting the product back into the sack in less than optimum conditions?
This channel introduced me to the Jungle blanket 2.5 years ago , and now have several as well as 2 jungle bags lol . I live in texas and this is perfect for 90% of our conditions , once in a while need the softie elite 3 on colder times but this thing is great . I have both the standard and XL and both suit me fine , I use them on ground or in my hammock mostly and is awesome .My lady loves them as well , says they are the best for our conditions and i have to agree !!!
I have the Snugpak Jungle Bag. Seems like it's very similar to this with the ability to be a sleeping bag, as well. I've used it in my hammock down to about 40 with warm clothes on and it was a bit chilly. I'm interested to try to use it as an underquilt for my hammock. I will also be using it as my primary blanket at Scout summer camp in the Georgia mountains.
Worth twice as much as I paid. I normally sleep under a 20 pound duvet that cost over $100 on Amazon. When I launder the duvet my Snugpack serves as an excellent substitute. PS: I live in NW Washington.❤️
It seems like it took forever to get mine in from Amazon. It took so long I really forgot ordering it and when UPS showed up one evening it was like getting a Christmas present from myself. Not much I can say about the product other than my wife really likes it because she immediately claimed it.
funny...that's what happened with my Wiggy's Lamilite Antarctic Parka...everyone wants to wear it...THATis how nice and warm it is- without EVER being clammy.
I used mine out in camping and it got down to 29° and it kept me warmer than anything else I had with me and it is how warm blooded or cold blooded a person is on how well it will keep you warm.
Like the product. I'd like to see some creative ways of using it, say, with a tarp as a makeshift bivy, or as a bag liner, or... some other way I haven't thought of.
Hi Luke Mine arrived on Friday I ordered the XL version. Being 6'3 I was expecting it to be bigger than it is but there you go I'm wrapped on my sofa now with it watching a Prime programme about a game character feeling warm.
Like a GI Poncho liner, they make a great stadium blanket (colors may draw some comments but you and your better half are probably warmer) and they would make a great top blanket on the bed when it gets real cold and you need something extra. The Israeli woopie you demonstrated is a bit short for us taller people who sometimes got cold at one end or the other when using them since the GI liner only comes in one length (except for the older Artic Poncho and Poncho Liner). I always thought it a military oddity that the Marine Corp would go to great lengths to ensure dress uniforms were custom fitted but much of the gear they depended on when others are shooting at them only came in standard sizes. I note your comments reflect such traits regarding packs, etc.
I have the XL blanket, I use it every night for about a year. I use a sheet under it and it works great. You must get used to how lite it is. Mine covers the very top of a queen size bed, nothing hanging over... if you don't want to use a sheet with it, and you have ruff feet, its best to wear socks. The under side seems like it would fray easy... PS, I just got a USGI industries poncho liner today, now I can compare the 2....
Hi Luke! Great review. I have both the Woobie and this Jungle Blanket and I don't know if it is psychological or not, I find the Jungle Blanket more warmer than the Woobie. I know that the Jungle Blanket saved my bacon one freezing night. Rolled up made a nice pillow and the Over Quilt kept me toasty warm until around 0300 hours. After tossing the blanket over my lower body I retained my comfortable night. It was almost too warm with both. Like you I sleep hot and often dangle one arm and one leg outside my cover. My Woobie has been relegated to my day pack for those just in case incidents.
Looks like a good piece of kit. If I lived further north I might look into it. As it is here in southern Florida my Woobie works just fine for most of the year. Keep up the great vids.
Just wondering do you know if you have to store this blanket hanging up like the expensive sleeping bags? Do you know if the blanket will break down over time by compressing it (similar to a sleeping bag)?
I was looking for a great, light summer sleeping setup and after this review i bought the jungle bag, b/c i prefer the bag setup over the blanket, and i can unzip the bag if i want the blanket vibe. i was also looking at woobies but this appealed to me more and i always tent so don't need to worry about water much. i have a 3.4r-value sleeping pad and a silk liner too so between the two of them i think i have a great layering sleep system for late spring through early autumn. can't wait to try it out on the trail in the coming weeks!
i am not to keen on sleeping bags, i really fancy buying this blanket. i already have the snugpak bushcraft quilt and i think that is great for the price. thanks for the review.
Have both here, if you have bugs about the bag is the better option. If you want something just to throw over you when out for a few days in a bivvy or under a tarp the blanket works fine.
How would this compare to the $20 Costco, 1-lb, 700-fill blanket? I mean the Snugpak has the advantage of being synthetic which is better when it comes to moisture versus down, but then again it is heavier and costs more....Any other feedback?
It would have been a much better video if you said how you got down to 40°. Sleeping mat/pad, tent, hammock, fire. You didn't provide enough details in the video.
I have one and like it. But don't expect miracles from it. If you sleep in a T-shirt and boxers - think more like 55 at best. Below that you better be dressed warm and have a very very good, winter pad under you. Personally, I integrate mine with a light, 50 degree bag and that gives me flexibility for almost any 3 season scenario without pushing the weight up too much. If you are a guy who hates mummy bags (and I do) you will be shocked at how much more comfortable you are under this when it is all you need.
Currently considering buying a black one & sewing into a sleeping bag liner. Luke, you like Snugpak stuff (I'm a more recent viewer, currently time-traveling) - do you think I'd wring out a few more degrees this way, or should I just get the thermalon liner & not make work for myself?
Hey also do u have any experience with badlands backpacks? Love to see one on the channel. I've been thinking about picking one up. Not sure, I'm kinda an Eberlestock and osprey guy.
Is it recommended that this sort of thing be stored long-term hanging loose and not stuffed in the stuff sack? I've heard the insulation can lose its loft and not insulate as well if it is always crushed.
What's the warmest you could use this for? I need a summer option for backpacking in North Carolina. Considering a fitted sheet for my sleep pad and a blanket like this on top. I have a sleeping bag for when it gets cold. But I am looking for a light weight summer option. It often doesn't get below the 70's in the summer here. I tend to sleep warm.
35-45? What clothing were you wearing. I think when these temps are listed by the manufacture, one has to wonder does that include you wearing your normal outerwear. I use these in my kids emergency shelter in place/bug out bags. One of these and a emergency blanket/bivy, should keep you kinda warm. Thanks for the video. Enjoy them all.
Howling Dingo You might think that a bag would be warmer; however, when you lay on the underside of your bag, you compress the loft and that defeats the purpose of keeping you warm. Rely on a sleeping pad with a good R value to warm your backside and allow the quilt to keep the rest of you warm. A quilt can save you some weight and pack size as well. Check out Elightened Equipment's web sight www.enlightenedequipment.com. Their quilts come with keeper straps that attach to your pad and keep the quilt from sliding off you. Also, they are as lightweight as 9.50 oz! Luke, if you are reading this, consider reviewing one of their quilts. :)
Aaron Dally By the nature of there design a sleeping bag tends to be warmer that using blanket.Heat is reflected in the bag as with a blanket gaps lose the heat.. Yes everyone knows that laying on a bag compress the loft and that is a "design flaw" of sleeping bags. The difference in weight and size seem small when compared with other sugpack sleeping bags. You could use this blanket it the summer where I am.Or as a kind of "bag booter" with a sleeping bag in winter. At $40 it is something that is not going to break the Bank..Enjoy the vid !!
Aaron Dally Hey there brother, my wife just ordered an EE quilt and she will have the review up whenever it comes in and she tests it out. Very long wait times! I'm a huge fan of quilts by the way! - Luke
TheOutdoorGearReview Actually, you sold me on quilts. Thank you! I love my EE quilt and I hope that Suzy loves her's too. Great quality and warmth to weight ratio, but they are a bit pricey and the wait times are a pain. However, he will bump your order up if you ask... FYI. Happy trails!
Luke, you said the std usgi woobie is 94"??? Got a part number for that one? I'm 6'5" @ 285 and can't find anything even close. The woobies i see are 62" x 82". And the alternatives are even smaller, for the most part. Guess i'm gonna have to skin me a bear, eh? Build me a wookie woobie.
Thanks, Luke. I'd like to see more Snugpak reviews, including the poncho and tarp. (Hint, hint.) As for the jungle blanket, I was excited to order it on Amazon back in March, but when it didn't arrive after two months, I recently went ahead and canceled the order. What's up with that?
Hey Luke, great video. I've been eyeballing those for a while. Hoping that amazon prime day would have it on sale but they didn't. I'm debating whether to get the jungle bag or jungle blanket.
Just got mine today it is quite long enough for me I'm 5 9 hey covers me from head to toe and it is quite warm it is 41 degrees out on laying here enjoying it I am noticing a lack of tie outs on it so I'm going to have to modify this thing it's substantially put a neck hole in it and some perimeter tie outs
Lol you stopped the video when packing it in. It does take 2 whole minutes to get it in that way. If you practice a super tight roll, then you pull the bag over the roll. You can get in in the bag in 30 seconds. That way is actually harder then one would think. I won't leave mine in the stuff sack. I want it and my sleeping bag and jungle bag to have lasting warmth, and not loose it's fluffiness of the fiber inside to compress here and there and not come back. They should be hung up or folded in two and stored away. I will only use the stuff sack when it is time to go. Thanks for the review! Amazon picture does not do the snugpak jungle bag/not blanket justice. They much nicer looking in real. I bought the Snugpak jungle bag, it can be used as a blanket too. It unzips all the way. But bonus mosquito net for your head.
I love Snugpak products, This blanket definitely wouldn't be warm enough for winter, but I always pair blankets with a sleeping bag, it would be perfect for summer, I also sleep pretty hot, I love how they keep coming out with high tech material fabrics in clothing and camping gear, pretty soon they're going to have sleeping bags and blankets as thin as plastic grocery bags and keep you warm down to -40 below, Lol, (I wish). haha. -Jake
YT Lone Wolf You're absolutely right my friend, definitely not warm enough for the winter. For warmer conditions (jungle), it's just fine. Take care of yourself. - Luke
As you know I got one 4 night now useing it not as good as my Ozark Trail packable blanket which is smaller less durable materials and believe it's a 60 x 75 The Jungle it's a lot bigger it has more advantages with high-tech materials the wind goes and go through it it's waterproof antibacterial in it none of these things the Ozark Trail blanket has the temperature for the Ozark blanket is rated at 50 just like the jungle blanket but I've had it down to 34 degrees just by itself the jungle blanket was feeling me at 41 degrees I was feeling cold and miserable at 41 degrees know where the Ozark Trail beats this blanket is in the warmth it's a slightly thicker or locked ear padding inside and the heat dissipates throughout the blanket where the jungle blanket is only warm where you're in contact with it those are my initials observations not to take away from his channel I'm sorry
It’s always reassuring when I go to check out some reviews on a product and there you are at the top of the search results. 🙌

Yea use it with a fleece liner zip up easy 30 degrees no issues and a grand total of 2.7 pounds good for a inch bag/bug out bag.
This is what I have been looking for for a long thru hike this summer
i was camping this past weekend and used the xl snugpak jungle blanket it was 47F I was very warm, great product
Like the product. I'd like to see some creative ways of using it, say, with a tarp as a makeshift bivy, or as a bag liner, or... some other way I haven't thought of.
have you seen the XL version of this? I just got mine in the mail yesterday and it is awesome, especially for a man who is 6'3''
Hi Luke Mine arrived on Friday I ordered the XL version. Being 6'3 I was expecting it to be bigger than it is but there you go I'm wrapped on my sofa now with it watching a Prime programme about a game character feeling warm.
Thanks man, doing my Snugpak research on 3-4 items including this, the UQ (underquilt) and the overquilt/blanket
Did you end up getting any of them? What’s your impressions/review?
I love my Snugpak jungle blanket!
Like a GI Poncho liner, they make a great stadium blanket (colors may draw some comments but you and your better half are probably warmer) and they would make a great top blanket on the bed when it gets real cold and you need something extra. I have the blanket and also the Snugpak Jungle Bag
The bag is the better deal
Much more versatile for an extra 150g
Yes, but you can also use them both together. Use the blanket as an extra layer over the top of the jungle bag is what I do.
Nice blanket I really love Snugpak. I have a Woobie and it does a great job but I'll check out the Jungle bhlanket. Thanks. atb Opal
Opal Preston Shirley Sure thing brother.
Take care.

they also make a poncho liner with hood and arms.it can be used exactly as the blanket.making it more useful.atb luke

Sold, only using it for sleep ins at work. Goes way beyond my technical needs.
I found mine on eBay,negotiated, it down to $40,…FREE SHIPPING 😁😉🤩
How is it when it comes to the fabric breathing, does it get any condensation if wrapped totally over the body or if covering face during sleep?
I love mine.. Excellent piece of kit !!
Skills2Survive Thanks for sharing brother.

Looks like a great blanket for the price
dalton vickers No doubt; good performance for the price.

How does it compare to the military poncho liner
Is it recommended that this sort of thing be stored long-term hanging loose and not stuffed in the stuff sack? I've heard the insulation can lose its loft and not insulate as well if it is always crushed.
Tracy Reed You are correct; it's bad for the insulation to stay compressed.
Cheers.
- Luke
Did you ever do a review on their jungle bag?
Which is warmer luke that or the woobie torn between the two
this is on my Amazon list to buy.
I’ve taken this down to 30 and slept like a baby!
Luc; You never followed up with the Jungle Blanket, unless I missed something.
Gezz i just payed $115.00 for one in New Zealand should arrive tommorow in the Mail 😊
At 2.5 lbs. I'll keep using my pinnacle 15° marmont. For lighter Cary I'm taking an inspiration 40° quilt at 15oz
Would this combined with an escape bivy work for tent camping in the low 40s?
Anyone combine this with a sleeping bag, like the patrol bag? just curious.
Hey Luke do you think combined with a 80/20 wool blanket this would be good for 20's 30's F?
Good price..I am a bit stuck to see why you would not just lightweight sleeping bag?Same size in the pack but being a bag would keep warmer..
Howling Dingo You might think that a bag would be warmer; however, when you lay on the underside of your bag, you compress the loft and that defeats the purpose of keeping you warm. Aaron Dally Hey there brother, my wife just ordered an EE quilt and she will have the review up whenever it comes in and she tests it out. Very long wait times! I'm a huge fan of quilts by the way!

good point but for a hammock-er or for someone who sleeps hot and finds a bag too restrictive looks like a win
This blanket may suffice for spring and summer use, but forget about it in fall and winter in Northern Arizona!
Used mine a few times brill peace of kit
Never first but #1,000 is pretty cool
I bet Luke wouldve made a good weatherman on the news.
Great job
Are we not gonna talk about how Luke used the Demolition Ranch/Off The Ranch music?
That's youtube music and every youtuber has access it to.
- Luke
What we you think about snugpak vs Swiss link wool blanket..actually thinking about using both in kit
Ive used that setup in colder nights and it is perfect , wool blanket if needed and the jungle alone if not ....
@@Aldocello1 tks!
really like your videos but man, could you also use the metrical system? Cheers mate!!

As for Amazon; was it a 3rd party seller?
Take care Words!

Sorry, I don't remember, but I didn't think so. Maybe it was. Who knows? LOL!
How do you wash it when dirty?
TOP 🔝 👍🏼 Gruß Franki from Bavaria
Fantastic!
Hey Luke, great video. I've been eyeballing those for a while. Hoping that amazon prime day would have it on sale but they didn't. I'm debating whether to get the jungle bag or jungle blanket.
Good Hammock under quilt....
Hammock Sponge Hmmm, that is an interesting idea!

What is the name of the song in the beginning of this video?
Just got mine today it is quite long enough for me I'm 5 9 hey covers me from head to toe and it is quite warm it is 41 degrees out on laying here enjoying it I am noticing a lack of tie outs on it so I'm going to have to modify this thing it's substantially put a neck hole in it and some perimeter tie outs
It's $24.50 right now on amazon.
Is it washable?
I would wash it like a regular sleeping bag, so just as often as necessary and carefully by hand.
If it’s not water proof probably shouldn’t be called a “jungle” blanket. I have one and it’s great
I love Snugpak products, This blanket definitely wouldn't be warm enough for winter, but I always pair blankets with a sleeping bag, it would be perfect for summer, I also sleep pretty hot, I love how they keep coming out with high tech material fabrics in clothing and camping gear, pretty soon they're going to have sleeping bags and blankets as thin as plastic grocery bags and keep you warm down to -40 below, Lol, (I wish). haha. -Jake
YT Lone Wolf You're absolutely right my friend, definitely not warm enough for the winter. For warmer conditions (jungle), it's just fine.
Take care of yourself.

Off the ranch music lmao
As you know I got one 4 night now useing it not as good as my
Ozark Trail packable blanket which is smaller less durable materials and believe it's a 60 x 75 The Jungle it's a lot bigger it has more advantages with high-tech materials the wind goes and go through it it's waterproof antibacterial in it none of these things the Ozark Trail blanket has the temperature for the Ozark blanket is rated at 50 just like the jungle blanket but I've had it down to 34 degrees just by itself the jungle blanket was feeling me at 41 degrees I was feeling cold and miserable at 41 degrees know where the Ozark Trail beats this blanket is in the warmth it's a slightly thicker or locked ear padding inside and the heat dissipates throughout the blanket where the jungle blanket is only warm where you're in contact with it those are my initials observations not to take away from his channel I'm sorry
nice, ,thank you.. hey I lost one that looked just like that one, out you way. you didn't run across it did you? lol bubba
Bubba Love You lost one and I found one? Haha That's just not right!
Haha Take care my friend.

Looks like a good summer bag bit too short.
2:34 that looks brown, then he stuffs it into a olive drab bag.
this or a woobie ?
snagged one for 35 bucks
I want one but... Made in China.
Wash it once and all the interior fill materiel shifts to one side... worthless.
Made in China now... will skip it
