So the japan release of the brain master was called Road Ceasar. Thew Adams got creative and started calling the European version "Sidewalk vinegrette." Priceless.
Thanks for finally clearing up my confusion. As a kid I owned Snipe, and I started thinking I must have imagined the name, because every time I looked up the Skyscorchers online, it gave the name of the toy I owned as Afterburner. I didn't know they changed his name in the USA.
Lightformers had a cool gimmick. Getting updates of those characters would be great, especially if Hasbro went the extra mile and maintained the scope functionality.
This was my entry point to transformers. Rapido and Windrazor were the first bots i owned. I still have most of them though in a vas trange of condition and completeness.
The Action Master who has the car that turns into an exosuit is just peak stupid. "I gave up my ability to transform to be faster, more powerful, more alive!" "And what did you do with that?" "I rode a car."
So what I'm getting from this video is Last Stand of The Wreckers was pretty much "let's take a bunch of Euro G1 toys, make them Wreckers, then kill them".
I've heard that the entire Predator's line suffers from varying degrees of GPS with Skyquake having it the worst out of the group. I think it's supposed to be in their missile launchers.
It's somewhat controversial if it's just weak pegs or GPS, but yeah, those launchers break a lot. The alternate theory is that they have really powerful springs and really weak hand-pegs.
Okay so I kept count of the colors, and including non transparent windows, my numbers came to this: Cons with green windows: 20 Cons with bronze faces/heads: 20 Bots with red windows: 18 These could be off by a few but it was damn near universal. I also noticed that the bots generally had blue heads.
Weirdly we picked up a whole bunch of G2 toys my brothers and I had in my parents attic, including all of the Axelerators and three of the Skyscorchers.....we found Terradives gun but not Terradive usually that happens the other way round?
I grew up in the 90s in New Zealand. Most of these look familiar like friends had these. Me and my brother had most of the Turbo masters. Rotorstorm got a release a few years back in those brown boxed generations line as a repaint of Spinster.
The Starscream version is featured in the fan film Trans Tech series. The black Starscream is what the Con ship transforms into the fight the SDF One. Ha.
I had Rapido and Terradive and would love to own modern iderations of the Axelerators and Skyscorchers, original characters from G2 are a way for Hasbro to celebrate a part of transformers history that needs as much love as those G1 characters get.
You didn't mention that all the figures with the water squirting gimmick also had a color changing effect that was activated when they got wet. This is something we've seen in American toys like Hot Wheels has a lot of vehicles that change color when wet and even had a car wash playset to go with them. I don't think Transformers ever did this outside of those Euro water squirters. Beast Wars Megatron also has a water squirting gimmick and I think a couple other Beast Wars toys did too... I believe Cheetor's gut gun was also a water squirter. But those toys didn't have the color change gimmick they just squirt water for no real reason. I kind of wish American Transformers did have that gimmick... it's kind of terrible for collectors because the color change paint doesn't age well and you end up with some warped colors that really don't look right at all but it's fun for kids and Transformers is ultimately a kids toy line. They could do a collectors version without the gimmick where they could sell two of every figure since the color change gimmick means every character naturally has two different color schemes. This way kids still get a fun color change gimmick to play with and collectors can have solid versions that aren't going to warp in weird ways over time. Heck you could even get 3 repaints out of the same mold, one with the color change paint, 2 with solid paint mimicking the two color schemes of the original.
I have the Rescue force, I bought a Korean ko G1 Hellbat and Guyhawk ( I need to repaint then in Rescue force colors) and a repro headpiece so I can make a G2 Liokaiser. Fun fact: There are 2 variants of the Rescue force bots, 1 set with the red weapons and 1 with grey versions of those weapons
Nothing weird about Europe getting these, we're pretty much a dumping ground for the last vestiges of toy lines, it would be weirder if we didn't get them.

Back Alley Bleu Cheese
Talking of Thew, he also considers the Rescue Force drill to be the worst toy he owns.
@@misterbadguy7325 good point.🤣🤣
Was that before or after it showed up as a caption on the wiki?
@@BagOfMagicFood not sure lol.
Every time Omega Spreem is mentioned somewhere in the world, Vangelus gains a little more power.
Action master thundercracker was one of my favorite figs as a kid. Only saw him once at a Tesco but I dove for it and never looked back.
it's crazy to think that there was once time when we in Europe got exclusive Transformers when these days exclusives are all in rage in US.
Great overview! I even own a few Sky Scorchers but now have a better understanding of the time and places these lines were kicking around.

I would love to see a legacy ironfist in the 90s colors.
@@Guatdefookgood news :^)
Those colors! My eyes! Still wouldn't mind having most of them
I always liked that Boss was based on the '89 Batmobile
Spark (as in a spark of flame) was one of Pyro's alternate names iirc. They probably decided 'Pyro' was a bad name for an Autobot.
Keep in mind, the Autobots’ resident fire truck is named Inferno. Pyro doesn’t sound too out of place to me.
Wow didn't know it was that many Euro transformers this is crazy
This was my entry point to transformers. Rapido and Windrazor were the first bots i owned. I still have most of them though in a vas trange of condition and completeness.

"I gave up my ability to transform to be faster, more powerful, more alive!"

It's like you were in my head. I recently got ahold of a Clench and a Ironfist.
So what I'm getting from this video is Last Stand of The Wreckers was pretty much "let's take a bunch of Euro G1 toys, make them Wreckers, then kill them".
This was very nostalgic, thankyou.
great video, I found the 4 aquaspeesers in a flee market a couple of years ago still in packaging, I got 10 of them

I love how despite its menacing looks, name, status as stormtroopers' leader, and bio, Rage is a midget among the color changers.

I have none of these and I want them all so bad 😢😢. Clench is a grail for me.
We absolutely need Action Master Thundercracker as an Earthrise Seeker repaint.
i'd love to see a good chunk of these figures get new takes in legacy or whatever comes next.
What about overlord?
Yeah he is also a japanese character, but his background and affiliation is diffrent enough to be another overlord.
If I remember right, in Europe before generation 2 they re-released the constructicons in yellow without their combiner pieces
I have some predators, tail end of transformers in Australia. Love those guys
I still remember the Machine Eagle MW prime, the chest piece was hell
The Starscream version is featured in the fan film Trans Tech series. The black Starscream is what the Con ship transforms into the fight the SDF One. Ha.
Very enjoyable video

some of the euro g1 figs shared the names of the GI Joe characters so that hasbro wouldn't lose the trademark
Those Exo suit Action Masters look cool.
You forgot to mention Rotostorm was brought to the US as Stanstorm in Machine Wars.
You didn't mention that all the figures with the water squirting gimmick also had a color changing effect that was activated when they got wet. I think a few American-release G2 toys had a color change gimmick, they might've been sourced from the Euro team.
If you show a mantis shrimp thundercracker , it would go blind it’s so vibrant.

Whoa just realized we had these as main line retail releases in the philippines
that moment Euro G1 manages to be even weirder than Japanese G1.
It's a shame hasbro don't add the original gimmicks to their g1 releases.
I still have my Pyro and have experienced the GPS issue.
6:01 - This looks a LOT like the Berge Guntank, neato
Action master thundercracker has a dinobot- lookin head
I had Windbreaker! My last tf toy....until the next century when I got much much more
pyro looks pretty cool
They could make Clench from that new Lazer Prime.
its so funny to me that the only way to get g1 liokaiser without gps is to swap the tank with the euro g1 version
I don’t even know how to process some of this information LOL thanks for the European education
The Predators and their colors are very similar to Transformers Master Force Decepticons.
Clench was called Colossus and Pyro was called Spark.
Kinda thought Thunderclash would have been a repaint/remold of Combiner Wars Motormaster/Optimus Prime.
Tbh I think hasbro should just make a sublime based on euro g1 characters
Colossus and spark where the obliterators alternative names
18:20 Overlord's fave
I want to see the European generation one updates of the rescue force and the motorvators and the rest of these guys.
Slicer... Is clearly recolour of Wheel Jack
I thought a lot of the euro G1 accelerators were G2
Stalker could make for a near retool of Earthrise Doubledealer
I collect unique Japanese and European TFs, I have all of these except 4.
Still have: Speed Stream & Calcar & Rage & Hurricane
Nothing weird about Europe getting these, we're pretty much a dumping ground for the last vestiges of toy lines, it would be weirder if we didn't get them.
You know? Legacy Knockout could make a decent Rapido
Iron fist & pero? Wreck n rule
Ah yes thew has a few of these
Discord link never seems to work for me.
How about making a European transformers TV series?
That's too good to ever happen
My Pyro GPS'd bad at the hip.......
I love the energy this whole era had, they went for maximum eye-catching, attention grabbing gimmicks foregoing any sensibilities of previous lines.
👍👍
Thunderclash received a new toy from Iron factory or fans hobby the not original transformers productor.
Lol I have never seen these before in Europe. Must be early 90's? Design looks shitty.
