IDW Swerve is more of a characterisation being conceived first then applied to a mostly blank slate of an existing toy. Tailgate too. I think Bluestreak and Powerglide were originally chosen for the characterisation that went to Swerve and Tailgate but the writer was told not to.
One of my absolute favourite things is looking at the various interpretations of Transformers characters and trying to blend them together, especially for characters like Swerve who've had their names applied to various radically different designs and personalities.

I actually have the aveo swerve as my mum worked at McCann in Ecuador and McCann has this global deal to make all the ads and publicity for chevy so one day in her office there was this box full of these things and they gifted them to the employees of the agency so i actually had 2 (my dad also worked there) but one broke, i still have the other one though.
swerve greatest thing he did in g1 cartoon continuity was in the legend comic where he got his revenge and defeat trypticon ( strapping himself with explosive and blow trypticon,basically a walking land mine and even survived )
you could actually turn the random completely different iterations as part of a compelling character development, he starts as a fumbling geologist and wants to get better, leading him to keep upgrading himself more and more and becoming more wreckless and even go as far to serve under Unicron (analog to the armada version).
I have this Arms Micron Swerve. Always thought it was strange, but love the molds. Red is my favourite colour, and the head is hella neat. It's like, he got big!

Something about Arms Micron Swerve really makes me wish that someone did the Breakdown mold as a version of the Iron Man Hulkbuster Armour (probably the red) I doubt it'd ever appen, the mold's what? a decade old at this point, but hey Collaberative's a thing and a guy can dream.
Spotlight: Arcee, the moral prickishness and/or depravity of many characters (Prowl, Metalhawk, Star Saber), its deconstruction of everything mythical about the franchise, the Optimus-bashing during ex-RID and Optimus Prime (the comic), and Lost Light’s virtue signaling being ratcheted up something fierce compared to MTMTE.
There were a few 3rd party Swerves too! As for Aveo Swerve, I got one at 2011 TF-con in Toronto for 30 bucks Canadian. :) so about 24$ U.S.. I got the I-Gear Faith Leader too that year too, the 3P mini MP-01. Still have it as well.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that even though they called it Swerve they basically just repainted movie Sideswipe in G1 Sideswipe colors. Also Alternators Swerve is basically just Road Rage... I mean a red repaint of Tracks, that's Road Rage. The only thing that makes it Swerve is the head sculpt but in vehicle mode I'd be hard pressed to tell the two vehicles apart.
It's spookily Ironic you doing this Video on the spurious repaints of Swerve cos I've just snagged a Chevy Aveo Swerve and it got me thinking just how many other mold repaints of Swerve are there? Cos he seemed to be the defacto character for Red repaints of many molds I'd seen especially Movie verse ones, so yeah great video and I think he would make a great character to Mold Set Collect as there are some real hard to get items in there.... 😄 BTW I also have the Prime Arms Micron Swerve as well

I'm pretty sure Hasbro released a sticker for their version of Tracks
The sticker was included with Swerve, so you could apply it to Tracks instead if you wanted to.
