This isn’t correct. This is what artists have convinced you is the case. The truth Ticketmaster has utilized dynamic pricing to maximize pain point for consumers having nothing to do with resale market. They keep prices as high as humanly possible for initial purchase because they know if it falls apart they can lower them to a level they need to to address the market or if it sustains keep them high. This flexibility makes it so they don’t have to estimate what is actually affordable. Instead they can concentrate on target numbers. The truth is the resale market usually fixes these things. Often at prices lower than tm itself. But it also does several other important things. It makes ur favorite artist viable. As much as u love to believe most artists crush box offices, it’s just not true. The majority of concerts would fail miserably without some of the resale market driving enthusiasm and ticket sales. Secondly ur favorite artist signs contracts that make seats premium to make money. They need them bought to keep touring as the most profitable aspect of musicianship currently. Bigger artists are of course fine but you’d be surprised how small a number bigger artists comprises. The market heat resale generates and the scarcity factor created makes a show a hot ticket. The fact is all components of the free market work in tandem to give the best experience. Ur 500 is charged whether the resale exists or not if fans will pay 500. Stop falling for artists nonsense about the market being driven up by such. It begins and ends with the manipulations of contracts and the ticket company itself.
The fix is relatively simple. Kill dynamic pricing. Force Ticketmaster to accurately assess an artists value and don’t give them the loophole of adjusting on the fly. They will set more reasonable pricing and that will filter through the entire ticketing market. If they choose to set it to high that concert will fail and hurt their bottom line. If they have to assess with profitability in mind we will get cleaner more respectable prices across the board. Relegate to the primary ticket companies only and the resale market will become equally more reasonable as a result.
Yea my lower bowl ticket came out to less than $100 and that’s with fees, taxes, etc. pretty reasonable relatively speaking! Especially considering how high demand he is right now

HOWEVER, every artist must remain cognizant of what a malleable industry this can be, and they must accept the end result of bypassing the chance to embark on a lucrative tour--because to paraphrase Cody Johnson: _If you've got a fan take it_ _cause tomorrow they may not show_

So they rely on the concert sales.
Back in the day you could only go see a concert if you wanted to camp in line at the venue's ticket window and that's only if it was in your city. If it was out of town you had to take time off work or away from school to drive there, camp out for 1-2 days, hope by the time you get up there there's still some decent tickets left, then drive back. I tried to get tickets to Zach’s show near me and they’re expensiveeeee. This is the corporations greed though. There was an interview with the main dude and he said he feels concerts should be treated the same as vacations. Once a year experience. Insanity. I saw more shows as a teen and young adult than I do an an actual adult
It broke my heart as we won’t be able to attend this. i already got 4 tickets all because i had a knee injury that got worse and i have to take a surgery please buy my tickets
That’s why you gotta suffer through ticket drops from independent venues. I paid 150 dollars total to see tame Impala and turnpike troubadours play for 2 hours each (separate occasions, same venue). The worst part was navigating the ticket drop
It would be nice if buying concert tickets was like plane tickets where you have to put your name on them and it needs to match up so reselling becomes a thing of the past
Luke combs does this too, apparently his ticket prices are like $25-$30, I’m not fully sure since I’ve never actually been to one of his shows but I remember him saying that was what he charged because he didn’t think it was fair to charge a massive amount of money because that wasn’t his ultimate goal when becoming a country artist, his goal was to make music people would love to listen to and that he enjoys making
People forget how much touring costs and how much venues cost to rent. That's why a fair price is between $150 to $300 on a median income. Dude has to make money somehow. Most artists go into debt even on a successful tour because it's so damn expensive to do it. From travel to hotel, food, and other expenses alone it's a killer thing to deal with.
I saw him live about a year ago for only $70 in a cornfield in Iowa. It depends on the venue and city, and he's only getting exponentially more popular... his shows are still way more affordable and enjoyable than all these corny pop/rap artists.
PS I just brought both his CD's so I'm not just free streaming the music I like if I like it as much as I do Zach's then I buy the CD. Makes me old school I guess .
I grew up in the 80s and 90s Ticketmaster was huge. We used to go to tower to get our tickets for whatever we were going to go see I think this day and age either Ticketmaster needs to get with the program or the venues need to cut out middlemen like Ticketmaster and put it more in the hands of the artist. Come up with a way to cut out a lot of this extra where people have their hands in the bag. Bring the prices down.
I’m still paying $20-$25 for the shows I go to because I’m a metalhead and most of the bands play small clubs and I can meet them. That’s what sucks when a band gets big, you have to pay more and then pay for parking and $8 water. Even the times I went to see a bigger band like Tool or Metallica it would be $75. ANYTHING over that is a rip off imo.
And I just paid 750 bucks for my 7 year old son and I to see ZB in St Louis. Best 750 I ever spent to see him sing along with ZB and everyone else at enterprise. Probably the only guy/band I’d ever pay close to that to see. It was weird though being the last time I saw ZB was in a small venue with about 100 people…
After paying 20-40 dollars a ticket to see some great bands play 20 years ago, I wouldn't pay anywhere near 150 dollars for a ticket... Maybe 80. Maybe.. but probably not.
20 years ago? That was 20 years ago bud. There's Normal Inflation, plus covid inflation. $40 then is around $75 now. Not to mention he had a huge band.
In the 90's I saw Metallica and GnrmR together at Reunion Arena in Dallas. I paid $55. I still have the stub. And my father thought I was crazy for spending that much of his money on a ticket. In the early 00's my wife and I saw Billy Joel & Elton John Back2Back show for $88 a ticket for platinum tickets at American Airlines. Granted online wasn't a thing yet for tickets to become a scalper's paradise. Recently I wanted to take my son to a Metallica concert at AT&T stadium, but the best deal I could get was $2,000 with fees for two tickets in nosebleeds, and I refused to do it. That didn't include parking which would've started at $150. Many say music streaming is to blame for this. But I bet if we solely relied on physical media like we used to, prices would still be outrageous. It's sad, because I would've loved to have had that moment with my son at a Metallica concert. My first concert was in the early 80s - my sister took me to a Joan Jett show. A week later I was seeing Pink Floyd with flying pigs in the arena. Her boyfriend sold drugs in the early 80s and he had access to incredible tickets: Ozzy Osbourne, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Iron Maiden. I can't even begin to remember all the concerts I've been to and the crazy beautiful memories that accompany each one. And I can't get one with my son. I mean I could, I'm not complaining like that, but $2,000 for Metallica is insane! I do love the band with all my heart tho.
Here is oklahoma, WHERE HE IS FROM concert tickets not in the massive venues only run about $30-$75 so the fact he says he'd rather play small shows for $150 is fucking wild because I've seen Panic at the Disco, Foster the People, Twenty One Pilots, Weezer and Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, and so many more for under $100 that are way bigger names than him here in Tulsa.
It went and saw some of the best bands in Detroit for like less than $50 for years. I get the prices have gone up because of the economy. I miss the old days.
ZACK has his own overhead as well . I know I wouldn't want ANYONE coming to see me play that had a crappy attitude towards me ..I've been going to concerts for 40 yrs and the economy sux more now than it's ever "suked" in my lifetime .. He pays and we pay ..
Sounds like he wants to make people happy, but at the same time getting defensive about his ticket prices. I know he could do these shows cheaper because I’ve been to these megastar concerts before where they get liquor sponsorships and other brands to help sponsor to offset ticket prices to $20-$100(depending on the seat). These companies then get to put branding and advertising everywhere and sell their products there. It’s not hard to get that to happen when you’re as big as he is. It just requires a little extra work not related to music specifically. ZB could definitely have his team figure it out if he wanted to.
The problem is bots and scalpers. They buy up everything and then resell. I just took my daughter to see him. It was $1000 for us. I have never paid that much ever. But what is messed up is his merch prices. $50-60 tshirts, his hoodies were $100-120, his f’ing hats were $40. People need to get on him about that.
Honestly, promo sale discounts doesn’t give the venue the same amount of time when artist have to play and pay their own fees so to speak about their work it’s also not understand the process of making a purchase to sell flip tickets.
The concerts are still near sold out even at crazy prices. Know how? They all offer zero interest payments plans and I think a lot of ppl are using them if you're buying tickets for multiple people. Imagine them needing to offer this for a concert...Insane times.
I was so excited to attend my first concert show and listen Morgan Wallen for the first time in Canada. However, $400 (+Taxes) CAD for a ticket was just to damm high for a college student like me. Infact, majority of the audience was college students who attended his show with poor services.
i would personally never pay more than 350 for a concert and it has to be a good ass lineup i’m not gonna pay 500 for 1 band i wanna see when there’s 4 ive never heard of or don’t like that much but i paid about 230 for vip $uicideboy$ tickets saw ski mask the slump god $not maxo kream and i enjoyed everyone who went on stage

How much is a fair ticket? Whatever the market will bear. That's how it works. One person doesn't like the price, but a large of chunk of ppl do. That's why the price is the price.
Those 18-25 songs have a big price tag attached beyond 10% of someone’s income. Beyond the artist/band, all support for the road, venue costs and associated support, etc. Those are all real. When people don’t want to pay artisanal prices, they are saying artists aren’t worth it. But that sound guy? The light guy? The bus driver? They all are artists in their own right. They also have income needs and families, and it’s not necessarily stable employment either. They are the ones who facilitate the tip of that tour’s spear. When people think of fair prices, they often subconsciously don’t even consider the support and logistics costs of touring. It’s also a want for the audience but a need for the employees. And I guarantee the market is in the employees’ favor due to more want than the producers can provide. It’s a rough, hard life on tour. With so much time on the road their safety factor is skewed and the very baseline of the job is more dangerous than one might think. They’re out there busting their asses with bad sleep, crappy food, and generally improper living conditions so people can “touch” the music. If they want to touch the music, that’s great. But they could at least uncurl their fists first and think about the reality of their requests to others to lower their own value, so that they can used for a night, every night for as long as the tour is.

I am your biggest fan I love Zach Bryan
What a neat guy.
The guy has a band of 713 players
and half them cant play for shit
1300 in Edmonton next year and the seats ain’t even that good shit needs to change
Tickets for his show in my area are $350 for the nosebleed seats
I'm so confused what the point is
I’m still paying $20-$25 for the shows I go to because I’m a metalhead and most of the bands play small clubs and I can meet them. That’s what sucks when a band gets big, you have to pay more and then pay for parking and $8 water. Even the times I went to see a bigger band like Tool or Metallica it would be $75. ANYTHING over that is a rip off imo.
plenty of bigger bands are still known to charge $100 or more a ticket. I listen to zach bryan and metal. times are different. never a guarantee
That’s the one rule I have 😂
20 years ago? That was 20 years ago bud. There's Normal Inflation, plus covid inflation. $40 then is around $75 now. Not to mention he had a huge band.
@a.nobodys.nobody You're more than welcome to spend your own money as you see fit.
Just spent £300 on 2 tickets for June next year on American Express rate as well 😂
Zach Bryan is the goat 150-200 is fair if you listen to his reasoning he’s not in it for the money
I’m with Zach on this one.
payed about $225 for the show in chicago for quittin time and it was worth every cent even got some merchandise too
Tickets in Edmonton to see him next November are literally a thousand each
Paid 125 to see him play in college station as part of a festival. He had a solid 2 hour set as well.
Here is oklahoma, WHERE HE IS FROM concert tickets not in the massive venues only run about $30-$75 so the fact he says he'd rather play small shows for $150 is fucking wild because I've seen Panic at the Disco, Foster the People, Twenty One Pilots, Weezer and Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, and so many more for under $100 that are way bigger names than him here in Tulsa.
musicians nowadays have to make all their money from touring, because they don’t sell the records anymore. so he’s valid imo
I agree with Zach here
Zach Bryan told the police when he got stopped - I’m a very famous musician. He was very offended when police said I don’t know you. 🤣🤣
His tickets in my city are 300 dollars for back fucking row and 500 for floor seats
Hilarious! A lower bowl ticket in Vancouver is $600 plus $116 in fees!!
Billie Joe, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Nirvana, and many other shows for around $50 back in the 80s.
That is ridiculous. I would not pay that!
Ticketmaster Canada is currently charging 1400 for a show in 5 months :(
If it was Taylor Swift thay pay 10k.
I will never spend a dime on a ticket to see him!!! Or buy any of his music!! 😂😂😂
Well he does play at NFL stadiums now, mile high stadium and the lions stadium
Hes fuckin wild ill give your $30 or ill stay home and drink and crank my stereo with my buddies
Zach Bryan was the cheapest ticket I've ever bought, so pumped.
Cradle of filth, gwar, as i lay dying a whole album each per set 25 bucks at the door at the fillmore. Those were the days
i would personally never pay more than 350 for a concert and it has to be a good ass lineup i’m not gonna pay 500 for 1 band i wanna see when there’s 4 ive never heard of or don’t like that much but i paid about 230 for vip $uicideboy$ tickets saw ski mask the slump god $not maxo kream and i enjoyed everyone who went on stage
Love his music, but anyone willing to pay that IS the problem!
About %10 of your monthly income is spent on personal items and bs expenses anyway why not by a ticket instead of random shit from target
People like you are ruining this world
Because you just raised your personal expenses to over 20%
@@UTP_ENTno..you didn’t lmfaoo you just spent the same percentage of your income you’d spend on a movie ticket and non necessary shopping on a ticket for a concert instead it’s not more unnecessary spending it’s just the unnecessary spending you chose over other unnecessary spending.
How much is a fair ticket? Whatever the market will bear. That's how it works. One person doesn't like the price, but a large of chunk of ppl do. That's why the price is the price.
He’s playing in Sacramento this year and floor seats are >$1,000. Not saying that’s him. But shits wild out here
he’s not playing shows for as long as he lives, this is his last tour ever. the quittin time tour-24
Try to get a ricket to one of his shows for 100$😂
I think it should be free with anonymous donation system and let your music earn itself.
He’s acting like he put the O back into country music
500 in Toronto way too much
Those 18-25 songs have a big price tag attached beyond 10% of someone’s income.
But they could at least uncurl their fists first and think about the reality of their requests to others to lower their own value, so that they can used for a night, every night for as long as the tour is.
fair price for one artist is $25 max for me. i don’t support all this price gouging BS. plenty of great shows in my area (western MA) for $10-$15
Only time I've spent more then 150 for one ticket was for vip back stage passes and front row pit to see iron maiden in 2018 and Elton John in 2013
I dont care what planet they are from no way am i paying 500 dollars to see something thats already plastered across then internet for free 😂
$2000 at Guillete in MA... Oliver Anthony Music $25... he needs to do better
He lied about it being cheaper. Vegas tickets in December were insane
My dad couldve went to a concert about 3 years ago for about 20 dollars but his girlfriend at the time said she didnt want him to go
now his tickets are almost a grand
Paid $30 for a Parker concert in late 2022. $150 could seem fair is he's your all time favorite, but anything over that (talkin about you Taylor Swift homegirls) yall gotta calm down.
It's supply and command
But you gotta remember back then 20 bucks was quite a bit of money
I was excited Zach Bryan was coming to town until i looked at ticket prices, $400-$500 plus ticketmaster costs for me and my girl to go ses him was around $1200 and thsts not even one of the front rows, to me thats disgusting
I mean 200 300 dollar tickets hell I heard some concerts go up to 10k
saw him at bogarts for 100, great time
my ticket was 75 dollars so idk what you mean
300 is how much it costs to go to music festival, fuck the love i need 300 per head for a 2 hour show
