SFA2 is the game I fell in love with Street Fighter and fighting games. It is still the best street fighter for me and no other street fighter games can take its place.
I remembering seeing the cab on Charlie's stage and thought it was the COOLEST thing I seen artistic wise ever. Street fighter got me into the anime style with this one!
@@Disasterj I agree. Street Fighter & other 2D fighting games got me into anime too. It is why I hate the new "realistic" Capcom art style of SF5 & SF6. They look ugly to me.

I remember alpha 2 gold being on my sf collection for the psx version. such a classic. Jwong a pretty good commentator, throwing tourneys for the culture.
1:01:43 when you were a kid and got good. you realized mashing that weak punch button during the slow motion defeat sequence was the greatest "fuck yeah" moment of your life....i knew in this moment they would win.
A2 is a very attractive game so mainly its pure nostalgia. Every Alpha Game is so dramatically different its insane. They're NOT Updates to each other, instead you have 3 different Games.
Some things I like better about alpha 2 over alpha 3: Alpha counter does decent damage but is challenging to input. Custom combo is available to every character every match, not only as an option Custom combos isnt just juggling someone to infinity Stage backgrounds are amazing in this game Announcer isnt grating to listen to Alpha 3 has way more characters and a cool guard break mechanic but x-ism (its version of custom combo) kinda breaks the game I find
I can think of a few issues with Alpha 3. 1- The custom combo is locked behind a mode. You can't use custom combos and supers which is a little limiting. To compensate for that, vism(custom combo) is much stronger which makes it a little oppressive. 2 - Alpha 3s fireballs deal too little damage. The game is more unfair than alpha 2 when it comes to neutral game. You can make more mistakes if you capitalize on your rush down opportunities (especially using vism). I'm no pro player or anything but those are some of the things that make it less appealing for me, and maybe other players as well.
@@TheCJRhodes its Not really better, they're both different Games. Alpha3 invented a priority system in normals and supers. Air recovery, Air block. Guard crush. Throwing on two Buttons. Three different Moses. With different Walk speeds and different behaviors to their characters etc. Its more experimental (complete Change of all Backgrounds and music Style) and therefore people mainly in the USA did Not recieve it Well. (In Japan A3 is in the top 5 fightings Games of all time. Voted by the 30-40 years old. Also daigo Said A3 is liked by so many and he literally Said three times in one of his streams it is "godlike") But gererally you just have to understand they are not Updates to each other. Which Game you Love more its totally on your choice.
