This. This is why sports are bad. Players are actively trying to suck, depending on the bet. Too many players have already been caught, and it’s still in its infancy of being legal. And the players that have been caught, have been mind bogglingly stupid. How many players are being smart about it and will never be caught? Pandora’s box has been opened, and sports are over…
Agree. I like gambling on sports but I can’t watch these games anymore and take it seriously. I can literally see players shaving points and I feel like nobody else does.
It’s not even 1,000th of what fans think it is, but this is the grave that sports dig themselves by inviting gambling: trust is an important and fragile thing.
1. Agree with overpaying while encouraging athletes to get every penny they can with every guarantee possible; 2. because we've abdicated NFL QB learning curve I have no expectations for rookies starting in NFL no matter how much technology and how many QB whisperers we add; 3. position is some much more complicated but I agree with the "dumbing down". 4. Full-time QB's in shotgun is prettier but this year there are at least 7 teams that would be better in old school under center play at least 2/3 of plays; Texans and CJ Stroud are to be applauded . . . .etc, etc,
It's because the NFL is pushing a certain quarterback, and trying to force them into a position they are not good enough to play...also, Mahomes is an illusion. He's not nearly as good as the NFL is framing him to be. He only wins because the NFL uses officials to keep him in the public eye an playing in Superbowls...without this help, he would be just an average quarterback. I have been saying for years that Derek Carr is better than Mahomes, and now I am going to be proven right...
Hip hop has almost destroyed the fabric of America, everyone wants to be a gangster from the teenager in Buger King drive thru to the a millionaire superstar in the NBA…..and the music is horrible, no instruments, no musicianship whatsoever, make a beat that anyone can do and rap about inner city lifestyle by painting a picture the young people like. We have done our young people wrong, we remember when they said all the same stuff about rock n roll music but let’s be honest with ourselves….we can’t compare American rock n roll to this garbage that has destroyed a entire generation of men and women
Seems like people don't like the truth. They just want to be pandered too. Honest conversations rarely exist anymore, that is why I appreciate Jason Whitlock even more.
I'm an "old" man also, but answer this: why are players so concerned with hair or gold or tats? Then they run out on the field with mouth guards out, no knee or elbow pads, no cup, some not even a jockstrap! WTF?
I don’t think people who jump on Whitlock because he criticizes, Caitlin Clark have the intellectual capacity or even a moderate level of common sense to understand what he’s about and/r what his show is about. This show nor Whitlock are about idolizing people he like or who seem to reflect his values. He and his show in my opinion are about expressing authentic views, perspectives, and opinions, and truth as he sees it, in a society in which there is little to no truth, and virtually, no honest expression of opinions. this society, unfortunately has millions and millions of highly trained authentic expression of thought police.
Jason, I agree with your analysis and critique of Clark. Suggestion: when you criticize behavior of Caitlin Clark, rather than making it so negative, you could start with the values you espouse that are admirable in athletes that make them great role models, and THEN point to where Clark could improve her game and image by stopping the negative behavior and promoting the alternative, better behavior. Voddie Baucham is a master at this.
I don't think the bears players rock with Caleb like that. The moist energy coming off that dude is gonna make it difficult for them to respect him as a man and a leader and I don't think he is talented enough to overcome that. I know he's a rookie but he overthrew one pass in that last game badly and his reciever DJ Moore got up with the body language of "this dude is trash" . Could be my bias though.
The NFL is ignoring NFL teams are drafting a lot of run and gun athletic quarterbacks of color that played for the most part on high level teams. As a life long Cowboy follower sort of these days, Dak(Who clearly got up on the right side of the bed years ago) has never proved he is a field vision quarterback. Watch the tapes of lovers and haters and you can see for yourself. Dak doesn't have pocket presence of other high level qb's and make reads and some fans are calling him and other qb's out. We are seeing a lot of qb's that seem to be drafted for being a good college qb, not for how they act in the pocket..Cowboys know they screwed up with Dak who does play well when he doesn't have to carry the game as do other teams. The multi millionaire players and multi billion aire owners aren't changing anything until their pocket books get lighter.
The prevalence of young athletic quarterbacks and the dumbing down of the position isn't coincidental. Quarterback used to be played from the shoulders up. Today, it's from the waist down. Defenses, because of rules changes, can't do shit anymore without a flag being dropped. Lamar Jackson has 2 MVP's?..he's 2-4 in the playoffs...he sucks 😂...and whichever team drafts Shadeur Sanders next year is going to be sorry.
@@southwestrunner6384 I thought for sure Jerry Jones would be the one owner who would welcome Deion and his kid. But the Cowboys are stuck with Dak and his big contract.

Jason covered this decline in QB thing back when he talked about why Cam Newton would never be like Mahomes/Brady/Manning. To be "That QB" you have to dedicate your entire existence to it, and there are very few people like Mahomes, Brady, Manning, etc. Between NIL money, rap star dreams, and countless other not-football distractions, fewer and fewer athletes will be that dedicated.
Jason, I am conservative but I cannot blame rookies not being ready to start in the NFL on rap music. I am old enough to remember when rookie quarterbacks largely sat on the bench.
Jason, unfortunately, I completely agree with you on Caitlyn Clark. I watch every one of her games I can. I check the Fever schedule and I don't do this for any other team anymore. I'm very disappointed about the turn overs, the missed logo shots, and the bitching and moaning to the refs. I'm losing interest
Steve again? Thumbs up. Shemeka is still the First Lady of Fearless. Of course, she is the only lady of Fearless, but she is still great. God bless Jason, Steve and Shemeka.
The reason is: 1. Less practice, 2. fewer preseason games = a poor(er) product. That is true with any business. Do you really think if UPS or Pfizer or Google or Exxon implemented this "less effort, less proficiency, more pay" mindset would not see the same outcome? And, players would be foolish not to take the money... 20-50 million/yr. Come on, money corrupts.
I can see Caitlin Clark flopping to get a call from the ref but man she goes way overboard and the worst was when the OSU fans stormed the court and CC was barely touched and she went flopping like she was hit by a car!
Her flopping is getting to Vlade Divac level. It is egregious and frankly embarrassing. Not to mention, she needs to stop turning the ball over and shooting 28 footers.
Wtf? Brady was the one that was cuddled most of his career, the tuck rule when the Raiders had him sacked, if that was Villapiano, he would've really got hit
Yessss I was hopping you'd adresss the Elle Duncan comment. Wth does that have to do with what happened to Tua??? That was one of the weirdest and most random takes I've ever heeard.
People have been saying the same thing for decades. The players are softer than they were in the good old days. The players care more about fame and money than the game. The league is soft. The same old refrain decade after decade.
Rap music has little to do with the craptastic play of rookie QBs. It's more that these guys are put into the starter QB role too early. Years ago, rookie QBs would be on the sidelines for one or two seasons before being handed the starter role. They were able to observe and learn from a veteran QB how to handle and manage the game at a pro level. Not every rookie is able to hit the ground running from day one. A lot of them could benefit from sitting out the first and even second year before becoming the starter.
Just SIMPLY thank you Jason. TOO MUCH BS when it comes to FOOTBALL! They are losing viewers. What is their TSL'S just wondering how long people are watching etc.......
I have been saying this for years!! The NFL is a woefully poor product!! Hip hop strikes again!! It contaminated the value system!! It also ruined Miami Beach😢Steve Kim said it right, having a high school diploma and being a hip hop artist is an embarrassment 😂
I agree that the product is not good BUT blaming hip-hop is too easy because the noted synergy speaks to something much deeper that speaks to what got lost, what grownups haven't done for years as we moved up Maslow's hierarchy becoming more self serving and less concerned with caring and sharing. Note this comment is very generally addressing a very deep and broad concern. Much Love ;-) h
That had nothing to do with Bryce Young. By all credible accounts he's very humble and focused. He's problems seem to be related to adjusting to the NFL game itself.
The only thing keeping the nfl going strong is the gambling! Monday night football can be like a Super Bowl if you have 10k riding on it. All you care about is if you win yes the product is decline all people care about is if they win the bet.
Amen Whitlock, I actually started the process last year of weaning myself off of the NFL.. This year I'm watching my home team games only, Next year I will say goodbye to the new hip hop NFL 4 ever.. DONE!
The system always has rooms for improvement and should always be subject to scrutiny. But it's a matter of individual choice to conform to twisted values and standards. Of course, one reason why the players are getting worse is that those who refuse to join the league just because they despise the system would have actually been better players.

This coincides with the bad/worse product....no coincidence, y'all
It’s not even 1,000th of what fans think it is, but this is the grave that sports dig themselves by inviting gambling: trust is an important and fragile thing.
i'd have gone CROSSEYED rolling my eyes during that Elle Duncan clip if was on that panel
Elle Duncan c-section was cringe worthy and unrelateable. MLB female host doing highlights is even worse.
I LOVE Shemeka. She is So REAL. She is BETTER Than Jason🤣🤣🤣🤣. Move Over Jason. It is Shemeka's Show Now
4. Full-time QB's in shotgun is prettier but this year there are at least 7 teams that would be better in old school under center play at least 2/3 of plays; Texans and CJ Stroud are to be applauded . . . .etc, etc,
Great show! I admired your honesty; closing the show😂😂👍
It's because the NFL is pushing a certain quarterback, and trying to force them into a position they are not good enough to play...also, Mahomes is an illusion.
Derek Carr had two good games this season mahomes has three super bowls.
Carr didn’t even make that far to challenge mahomes and they were in the same divison.
@@Kevindeal1987*mahomes and the refs
Agree on Mahomes- gets HUGE breaks from the referees and plays on a stacked team
@@southwestrunner6384 Plays on stacked team yes he has a very good GM and coach is that his fault!!!
You hit the nail on the head. It requires no talent at all and any kid anywhere thinks they can do the same thing
WTF?
Another great show guys.
Poor Butter. Uncool and awkward. I like him.
Butter needs to be incorporated into the podcast more or let him go
More money, worse product. Sounds like the Secret Service.
You should add Brad Pitts voice "What's in the box" when you put Butter in the Butter Box 😂
Keep with the truth, that is all I want, that is why I listen to you
I don't think the bears players rock with Caleb like that.
Moist energy, lol
"tippy toe"
Coach Greg Adams
Chicago is not a good city for him to play in
The NFL is ignoring NFL teams are drafting a lot of run and gun athletic quarterbacks of color that played for the most part on high level teams.
I just heard shady McCoy blame race. Have they not seen Bryce play? Yea Dalton better than that
McCoy isn't exactly Mensa material😂
The Kansas City game was really hard to watch and I'm a season ticket holder
The prevalence of young athletic quarterbacks and the dumbing down of the position isn't coincidental. Quarterback used to be played from the shoulders up. Today, it's from the waist down. Defenses, because of rules changes, can't do shit anymore without a flag being dropped. Lamar Jackson has 2 MVP's?..he's 2-4 in the playoffs...he sucks 😂...and whichever team drafts Shadeur Sanders next year is going to be sorry.
😂😂 So true
Deion will be on the sidelines as a “football consultant” with a gold pacifier for Shaduer…😂
It’s gonna be a zoo for whatever team drafts him
@@southwestrunner6384 I thought for sure Jerry Jones would be the one owner who would welcome Deion and his kid. But the Cowboys are stuck with Dak and his big contract.
That’s with the nfl not allowing quarterbacks to be really tackled like Brady or Montana had to deal with!
Brady was protected like crazy too. He started that shit.
@@SouthernSkeptic people really are delusional arent they? i like how whitlock also conveniently leaves of the years between 2008-2014.... passing touchdowns were down back then
Too be honest, Johnny U, Bart Starr, YA Title were the white qb’s who had off season jobs and were assaulted every play set the table for unfortunate black victims like Prescott and Lamar to make 50 mil a year. I don’t support it because I don’t want to contribute if I can control it but allow for others to buy into it if they like. Free Country, well, used to be
@@chopin1975-tq3gxfacts , that’s because he’s a puppet
"Butter" is here because he's young and into rap music....
heh...."Butter" isn't a day younger than 50. Who are you fooling?
Steve Kim is The Man!! Hahah that story 🤣 😅 😂...God Bless
A bigger question regarding Shedeur Sanders draft value is he coach-able? It appears for sure in HS and now college his only coach has been his Dad.
I'll bet he gets to do that in the NFL -- another version of the LeBron/Bronny thing.
I actually enjoy hearing takes that most dont agree with for the discussion & different point of view unfortunately most arent this mature
I think Whitlock nailed it. Almost everything has become monopolized, and the majority of us have no idea to what extent.
Steve is completely right. I wouldn’t care about the nfl and nba at all anymore if not for daily and season long fantasy
I'm willing to bet neither one of these guys are married
Steve again? Thumbs up. Shemeka is still the First Lady of Fearless. Of course, she is the only lady of Fearless, but she is still great. God bless Jason, Steve and Shemeka.
Shemeka is the only female on fearless
@@amd1273 Yes she is, that is what I wrote.
Regarding the bad QB play this season... this is with all the rules skewed towards the offense, and against the defense!
You are just wrong on the CC thing. She's standing up for herself.. we want that 🔥
I can see Caitlin Clark flopping to get a call from the ref but man she goes way overboard and the worst was when the OSU fans stormed the court and CC was barely touched and she went flopping like she was hit by a car!
Her flopping is getting to Vlade Divac level. It is egregious and frankly embarrassing. Not to mention, she needs to stop turning the ball over and shooting 28 footers.
Yeah I'm losing interest in her rapidly. Her liking swifts Harris endorsement tweet sent me over the edge
Wtf? Brady was the one that was cuddled most of his career, the tuck rule when the Raiders had him sacked, if that was Villapiano, he would've really got hit
It wasn’t so stfu
Yes Phil Villapiano could deliver that hit today. As a lifelong Steelers fan I've come to like & respect the great Raiders, especially Phil.
Less skilled at qb
That's because it's true. Our entire civilization is in decline.
Love you Jason ...but fix the front camera...it's off center...😊
At least in Baseball and NASCAR they have Christian Days and Christian Nights with player speakers after the games.
Flexible and Body Shaping were those ESPN shows.
Steve Kim is spot on. I know a shit ton of people that only watch the NFL because they are either playing fantasy football or gambling on it.
I'm so happy you are talking about because we all know you are tge god of this world abd the god of every sports every teams abd every player's.
This is the same scenario in every business, have you seen the packaging lately smaller packages, less product, more expensive, and cheaply made
I agree that the product is not good BUT blaming hip-hop is too easy because the noted synergy speaks to something much deeper that speaks to what got lost, what grownups haven't done for years as we moved up Maslow's hierarchy becoming more self serving and less concerned with caring and sharing. Note this comment is very generally addressing a very deep and broad concern. Much Love ;-) h
Inflation. Higher prices, less product.
I have real world Issues can't be bothered with this today.
