Cam Newton Compares J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake's Rap Beef To The NFL | CLUB SHAY SHAY

- Cam Newton joins Shannon Sharpe at Club Shay Shay, delving into a wide array of topics from football to fashion. He sheds light on his cigar lounge Fellowship and clarifies his controversial "game changer vs game manager" quarterback comments, providing insights into the NFL criticism landscape and its parallels to the rap game's beef between Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. Cam candidly discusses his experiences with various NFL teams, including the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers, reflecting on toxicity in relationships and corporate politics in football.
22:09 From dissecting quarterback strategies to analyzing player legacies and team dynamics, Cam offers his unique perspective with honesty and depth. Cam offers insights into what is holding Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens and Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys back from making a deep Super Bowl run. Cam claims that the Atlanta Falcons could’ve afforded Lamar Jackson, Justin Fields, Mike Vick and himself for the price they paid for Kirk Cousins. He reminisces about his rookie days in Carolina, shares stories about former teammates like Steve Smith Sr., Luke Kuechly, and Christian McCaffrey, and reflects on his relationship with Panthers' former owner Jerry Richardson.
1:34:30 Reflecting on his Super Bowl run and MVP performance, Cam shares candid insights into the mental and emotional toll of the big game, including the infamous fumble that haunted him in his Carolina Panthers’ loss to Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos. Then, he delves into his extensive collegiate experiences. Cam talks about his time with the Florida Gators, which did not pan out as Cam expected because Urban Meyer was not as committed to Cam as he was to Tim Tebow. Cam also says the Netflix documentary focusing on Florida did not do a good enough job capturing the toxicity and chaos of a locker room comprised of guys like Aaron Hernandez, the Pouncey Brothers, Joe Haden and Percy Harvin.
1:54:23 Cam also addresses the controversies surrounding his recruitment to Auburn and the resilience that propelled him through the adversity and into success, eventually culminating with a National Championship for Auburn. As the conversation ranges from confronting Alabama fans in the Iron Bowl, the recent scuffle he got in at his 7on7 camp, living next door to Michael Jordan, his parenting philosophy, near-death experience and not defining his legacy on whether or not he makes the NFL Hall of Fame, Cam's trademark personality shines through as he navigates numerous topics with depth and sincerity. Cam Newton offers a rare glimpse into the heart and mind of a football icon, providing valuable insights that resonate far beyond the gridiron.

Cam is so honest, to the point where he’s even willing to admit his own short comings. He’s a real One
He’s delusional
@@h2w25lmaooo care to explain why?
😢 I found it a very interesting interview, but I wish he wouldn't use profanity. I do think he's honest, particularly on how he played the super bowl that day. Very forthcoming about his mindset and individual performance that day. Extremely admirable.
With regard to the language, there's the old saying that an intelligent person doesn't have to use profanity to express themselves. Cam obviously has some to much intelligence about him, but it's not the same as wisdom.
Surprisingly articulate man, there's no need for him to rely on foul language to express himself. Impressionable, very talented young athletes will be watching this interview. Some will be mimicking his delivery as well in the future.
@@rashaaddrowski96 did you not listen to the interview?!!!
He double talks, almost everything it is that he says.
He himself is a game managing NFL quarterback who’s best years came on the backs of a 2015 team that had literally *10 pro bowlers,* and *8 all pros*
He is constantly misusing words that are outside of his vocabulary, because he’s trying to project himself as more intelligent than he actually is.
He surrounds himself with sycophants who tell him he’s not the problem, so he will never be able to objectively discern the reasons for his decline.
Quarterback is not an athletic position, it’s a cerebral position and you have to put in the study work, Travis Kelce is on record about saying how much Patrick Mahomes actually studies football to the point that it’s almost annoying. We all know about Peyton and Brady.
Cam Newton has always been concerned with being an icon, looking good, the rules don’t apply…
Any NFL general manager would watch this interview and immediately take him off of any consideration. His attitude is not one of a reflective selfless leader who cares about the success of a team.
You know I loved him in the beginning then stopped but after hearing this man he might be one of the real ones 💯

Podcast of the year so far. Unc has been on fire since his departure from Undisputed. From his 1st appearances on 1st take years ago. I knew Shannon Sharpe would be box office TV. He was box office on the field. One of the most polarizing players on the original Hard Knocks during his time with the Ravens. When things are meant for you. They're meant for you. And he's literally the only Podcast running that allows the guest the platform to speak. No interruptions, no suggestive comments, just straight to the point with his questions, and his willingness to simply listen. It really makes for good viewing or listening. Whichever you prefer. HANDS DOWN THE BEST PODCAST running currently.

Okayyyy
My best friend who passed away recently was a HUGE Cam Newton fan. Always followed him. That year Cam was at Auburn he saw them play EARLY in the season and after that game he was telling people that Auburn is going to win the whole thing.
Also that year Carolina went to the Super Bowl before the season even started he said Carolina is going to win their first 10 games and they’re going to the Super Bowl.
Cam Newton when he played for the Panthers, came to little Beckley WV years ago as a guest speaker, and when I asked if the panthers were going to make it to the playoffs and if he could guarantee it, He paused and looked and Said "its harder than you think, but im going to put it on me and hold myself accountable first and Say yes we are making it to the Playoffs as a team" That coming year they made it to the Playoffs. So glad i got to meet him. Salute to Cam always have been a fan and appreciate his level of respect for his Father and Family.
I always respected Cam as a ball player, but after this interview, Cam is the male me! He is my best friend in my head! His opinion of himself, his knowledge of his craft, his vernacular, he's me. When you can’t dispute the facts of the message, you attack the character of the messenger to delegitimize the message.
If someone attacks you instead of the message, it’s usually because what you said is true and they can’t explain why the message itself is false. So if they can’t convince people you are false, then they can convince them anything you say must be false as well.
