You can choose to grow up, or grow old. I prefer the latter. I'm 39 myself and I thought this was a laugh riot!

mike trying to act like he's cooler than this as if his entire career didn't revolve around videogames, toys and children's cartoons. what a piece of work
Mike's smartass sarcasm and the whole "hey, let's just kick his ass and leave" dynamic ironically is what 100% sold this review. I can't stop rewatching, because it's so damn great. In all honesty, I still found fresh content here regardless of the topic being done a billion times.
I feel like Mike is having a Ben Affleck interview moment. Where he isn't talking just listening and "Hello darkness my old friend" is playing in his mind. Lmao this was awesome though, I feel like Newt and Mike would be best pals.
Director Steve Barron & co. literally ripped pages out of the early Mirage comics to include in this movie. It tells its own unique story, but weaves in many events from the first few years of the comics along the way. It's honestly a great adaptation of the grittier comics, with a dash of influence from the cartoon, smartly utilized. Making April a reporter, for example, rather than working in a lab, her investigation into a Foot clan crime wave can act as the framework on which to hang all these memorable moments from the comics. I really wish the sequels had continued in this direction, but they certainly did not.
"It took a while to warm up to this movie because it wasn't the same as the cartoons" is the period accurate perception of the film. I watched the film again about 12 years after its release and that was personally my best viewing experience.
You guys should of REALLY spoke about the deleted scenes like Shredder disciplining the goons at the beginning, those scenes don't get spoken about enough and hopefully someday they see the light of day in an anniversary collection someday
Ya me and my friend pointed that out when we were 10, this movie made Raphael my favorite turtle, before that it was Donetello because hes the best in the video games
Im not sure its an inaccuracy. The song is for the film afterall, not the cartoon, and in the film Raphael is the main character. The other 3 are all goofy and childlike whereas hes more mature and independent.
@@mattm6580 the film is based off of the comics more than anything. The only thing from the cartoon is the different colored masks(they are all red in the comic). Leo wasn't really goofy/immature like Donatello or Michaelangelo, he was really more of a buzz kill than anything.
Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird didn't want Bebop and Rocksteady in the second TMNT movie because they were wanting the movie to be as dark as the first one, so they wouldn't give the character rights to the filmmakers, but because there'd been so many complaints from parents about the violence and language, they still lightened the movie, and even though Tokka and Rahzar are fun and creepy-looking characters, almost every fan still referred to them as Bebop and Rocksteady.
