My brother in law, who is on the autism spectrum, LOVES Macaulay. So much so that he started crying when we watched My Girl, believing he had really died, but calmed down when we showed him a picture of Macaulay and his wife and child, being very happy to see a “mini-Macaulay”
The idea of being in a magical library and going into a bunch of different books is a great concept for a movie. Get some glasses and reshave your beard and your Dennis Nedry cosplay will look great, Tony.
Speaking of the Page Master being the last cel animated movie, the Little Mermaid was the last hand drawn Disney movie to be drawn on hand painted cels.
yay Casey!!!!!, and page master is a secret gem i have always enjoyed, and the audio was echo as heck but at least i could hear her i was more worried that we couldnt hear her
Some movies i insist on owning without desire to rewatch them and this was one, i say was because now im moving it mentally into what i will watch at my earliest convenience!
I use to LOVE this film as a kid, but when I recently watched (maybe two or three months ago) it put me to sleep more times then I'd like while watching a film... I thought it was boring as fuck... =(
One of the few animated movies i rented as a kid and fell asleep to. I was always the one watching all the movies, this, i fell asleep to the 2nd time too!
Loved this movie as a kid and rewatched it a year or two ago and it holds up pretty well. I also appreciate its a film about telling kids classic novels are really good
I remember having the Pagemaster on VHS, it was sold as a double feature with Digimon The Movie. I watched the Digimon on loop, and only watched The Pagemaster once cause as a kid I thought the live action stuff was boring. Also as a kid I thought it was weird mixing live action and animation for whatever reason.
I vividly remember the trailer for this! I thought it looked lame back then and it's still lame now. But I enjoyed it as a kid 😂😂. The Nostalgia Critic review of this still makes me laugh!
19:44 I agree with Casey! I love all 3 movies. The 3rd one is not the best but I still enjoy it and it has a special place in my heart! The 2nd is my Favorite of the series. 😊😊😊
What if he did the mic thing on purpose so that we WOULD comment and drive engagement for the video? I never really comment on anything so I guess it worked. lol
Last I saw this I thought Atlas Shrugged in fantasy was a reference to this quote that’s been floating around the internet: “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." Turns out this was written in 2009…..Page master was ahead of its time.
Also I must say the audio issue while disrupting at first has a charm when you are reviewing a cartoon. So the funny echo can be an homage to the history of animation.
Long time listener, first time commenter. I’ve been looking forward to the video! I remember renting this movie all the time when I was young, and I haven’t thought about it in years. Sadly, the audio was pretty rough. Not only did it ruin the video, but it ruined my entire childhood too. 😫😫😫
Honestly, that audio would normally make me skip this video, but because I really like Casey I'll deal with it. You should thank her for being such a likeable person lol.
I had this playing in the backround for 45 mins and I figured that Casey was plugged into the show via a skype call from Mars, but she's sitting right next Tony turns out. 🤭
Enjoyed the breakdown, I remember enjoying this movie as a kid. Man, technical issues happen. However, I know how irritating it can be to find out AFTER RECORDING AN ENTIRE EPISODE! 😆 I'd be curious to hear your review/discussion of the 90's live action/animation hybrid Cool World
I vividly remember the trailer for this! Forget what VHS tape I was watching at my nana's at the time, but it did have it on there! Also yay for more casey!!!!
I was 15 when this came out but still liked (not loved) it. I can't find any evidence of this online now, but at the time, I recall them releasing tie-in reprints of the stories featured. [I don't mean the kidified ones, which I do see on Amazon, but the actual text.] I got and read Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde for the first time and the printing included a watermark or logo or something with the horror book character.
Just watched it hadn't watched it in awhile also don't remember if ya reviewed it. But watched 3 musketeers think ya should review it unless ya already did but not sure.
Hey, just wanted to leave a comment that their is something wrong with the audio on this video. It is still watchable, but the audio is horrible. You should really do something about the audio.

You gave us bad audio we deserve a wicked review
What happened with her audio? Its unusual.
Jk. Lol.
Praise Tony.
#TonyForPresident2028
Tony, you did Frank Welker dirty. How could you not mention Megatron or some other of his famous roles? At least get his name right.
May I draw art for the tape master I am asking so I won't be stealing an idea
@amberfoster410 Go ahead
Man the audio is rough, wish someone would’ve warned me beforehand
How much you wanna bet that Tony mentions that he hung out with Macauley Culkin and called him Keiran Culkin?
I mean they kinda look similar. They're brothers after all 😂😂
This movie is a Trek reunion. Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy, Whoopi was in TNG, Christopher Lloyd was in Star Trek 3, Ed Begley Jr was in ST Voyager
For a second i thought Tony was dressed like Nedry from JP!
That's the raincoat that Macaulay wears!
See nobody cares
My brother in law, who is on the autism spectrum, LOVES Macaulay. So much so that he started crying when we watched My Girl, believing he had really died, but calmed down when we showed him a picture of Macaulay and his wife and child, being very happy to see a “mini-Macaulay”
casey voice sounds more like an angel now
You should consider doing more animated movie reviews, Tony! There’s something extra magical about it.
Agreed! Animation is cinema after all!
I barely noticed the audio issue. Thank you for doing this one Tony.
The mic being turned the other direction makes Casey sound like she is recording from a bathroom. 😃
That's pretty cool!
So now we can all look for Tony’s Seinfeld parody on TH-cam
I like it. I have the Blu-ray. Before my birthday, I remembered the movie and when I went to the store, it was right there on the shelf and I got it.
for years i would knock my head and say hollow because of this movie
Came for the comments on the audio. Was not disappointed. 😂
I watched this one quite a bit as a kid. Way underrated IMO.
This was one of my favorites growing up😊 I’m super excited that your finally reviewing it
yay Casey!!!!!, and page master is a secret gem i have always enjoyed, and the audio was echo as heck but at least i could hear her i was more worried that we couldnt hear her
Some movies i insist on owning without desire to rewatch them and this was one, i say was because now im moving it mentally into what i will watch at my earliest convenience!
I used to rent it all the time as a kid
I thought it was fine as a kid! Mostly remember the trailer though!
Hell yeah I love pagemaster definitely underrated
even the game was ok
I use to LOVE this film as a kid, but when I recently watched (maybe two or three months ago) it put me to sleep more times then I'd like while watching a film... I thought it was boring as fuck... =(
Think maybe your mics are wearing out Tony
I wonder if Tony noticed Caseys audio had issues throughout the video.
I liked it when i was a kid. The whole message of the movie was GO READ BOOKS STUPID!
Tony from Hack The Movies, you look more like Georgie from IT, the 1990 version.
The main theme always hit me with feels
I forgot this movie existed, I remember actually liking it a lot as a kid.
But I personally liked "Little Nemo" a bit more at that age.
Why are you wearing the yellow raincoat from IT ?
That's what Macaulay Culkin wears in the movie!
@@kdusel1991 The more you know

Oh my god! The audio on Casey’s end is ROUGH!
The Hound of Bakersville? Jeez! 🤣🤣
Im remember wanting this movie just because it had a sneek preview of the Power Rangers Movie.
We bring that up!
The waters in that ocean are rough! ALMOST AS ROUGH AS THE AUDIO NA'MEEEEEEAAANN?!?!?
I would pay to watch a Tapemaster movie.
Same!
I always enjoy the videos when you two co host the episode together.
They have great chemistry together!! Plus Casey's super cute too!!
@kdusel1991 Casey is super cute, her voice is really adorable too for anyone just listening to podcasts.

I remember that Digimon movie! I LOVED that show as a kid! It was like a slightly more badass version of pokemon! The theme song still slaps.
this was great had it on VHS watched it all the time
Bro you should have had Casey dub herself over that'd been hilarious 😂
Ah, the old "I live in a fish bowl" sound effect, love it
I vividly remember the trailer for this! I thought it looked lame back then and it's still lame now. But I enjoyed it as a kid 😂😂. The Nostalgia Critic review of this still makes me laugh!
That episode was enjoyable to watch even though I'm not a fan of him.
@@JohnyTheWizKid I can kinda understand why some people aren't fans of his.
Look up vaulting's review of the pagemaster.

@@hazusuki I wouldn't be that much of asshole on purpose. I can't stand audio issues on podcasts
Bro...Treasure Island 1990, Christian Bale, Charlton Heston, Oliver Reed, Christopher Lee..DO IT
Or Muppet Treasure Island!
So, Tony...when will you let Casey out of that concrete box? :)
The Pagemaster should have been a TV show. Then they could give them 1 hour to focus on one classical book in each episode.
Can we get a review of The Good Son movie that Macaulay did in 1993 😃
It's not funny, he can't see without his glasses
I understood that reference!
WHAT IS UP WITH THE AUDIO? I MUST COMMENT ON HOW ROUGH IT IS
jk great job as always tony

the audio

Sadly, the audio was pretty rough. Not only did it ruin the video, but it ruined my entire childhood too. 😫😫😫
Tony don't go near the sewer opening it will... Wrong movie!
Boy, this audio sure is rough! If only there was some sort of message at the start telling me about it, but I was afk in the first 2min.
Oh, well.
Honestly, that audio would normally make me skip this video, but because I really like Casey I'll deal with it. You should thank her for being such a likeable person lol.
you are reviewing my childhood!!
the game was ok to
I love Pagemaster
I remember seeing the First Look.. of this movie on HBO.
I remember seeing the trailer for this!
I had a couple Pagemaster toys.
What did they make besides the plushies
@HackTheMovies Some PVC figurines (and I think maybe some Bendy figures)
another nostalgic film from the past enoyed this film when i was a kid and the video game think it was on sega
I think it was also on super nintendo too if I'm not mistaken! I think James Rolfe did a video where he played it with Macaulay Culkin!
I had this playing in the backround for 45 mins and I figured that Casey was plugged into the show via a skype call from Mars, but she's sitting right next Tony turns out. 🤭
Audio issues? 🤔
Yeah those odd echos
Remember to remind Tony of the audio issues frequently throughout the livestream.
I'm not sure he knows about it.
I had the same plushie she has I loved it so much

This movie and its release sit in the back of my mind rent-free and I have no idea why. I've only seen it once.
I vividly remember the trailer for this! Forget what VHS tape I was watching at my nana's at the time, but it did have it on there! Also yay for more casey!!!!
Tony must've forgot that Christopher Lloyd and Whoopi both were also in Star Trek.
You're right!
I remember loving this movie as a kid. No idea how it holds up. Excitied to find out
Tony dressed for Jurassic park
I know I've seen this movie, I know I liked it, but I remember jack diddly about it.
Stoked to see how much this review jogs my memory!
I think people had Culkin fatigue at this point. But the movie is great man

The audio ruined my Thanksgiving.
YES! I love this movie! I used to watch it so many times when I was youngr
Dude; this is a great Patrick Stewart performance. Always disregarded. Love the SNES game. Cool film.
Fuck yeah, Evil Ernie!
Good movie
It's fine.
Sounds perfect on this end 👍
And Whoopie was on Star Trek!
I KNEW SHE WAS TOO BEAUTIFUL AND COOL TO BE REAL! YOU CAN"T HIDE IT TONY! WE KNOW SHES A STEPFORD WIFE!
I liked this movie as a kid but haven't watched it since
Tony you should talk about the movie kripendorfs tribe
I liked this movie when I seen it as a kid.
I thought it was fine when I was a kid. I vividly remember watching the trailer on one of my nana's VHS tapes when I was younger!
Hey Tony, I don't know if you address this in the video but the audio on Casey is really rough.
