Nice video. Just as an FYI on larger flat roof bldg's (at least here in the US) the tar paper is rolled out to the short side rather than front to back.
Kevin Kilkenny hi Kevin, thanks fir the comment. Why is that? I always thought it was in the direction of the roof pitch so that water ran off properly. Certainly all the photos I've seen seem to look like that.
LInked is a section of Brooklyn, NY with peaked and flat roofs. pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL301/2024682/24509700/412915588.jpg You can tell on some of the flat roofs which way the tar paper went. Flat roofs are flat but they are pitched in a certain direction. The ones in the pic are angled to the backyards, which is where the rain water goes and the gutter/drainpipe is. Walking on one of these from the back to the front, you can definitely tell you are walking uphill. ;) Even *large* bldgs have pitches to their flat rooks to direct the water to the drains.

Kathy - Thanks for making it clear and relatively simple. As you mentioned earlier, MIG and AK are hard to find in the US. It looks like the MIG Industrial City Dirt - P039 is a tan sort of chalk like substance. Would the weathering powders we have here be a good substitute? Thinking of Bragdon, Dr. Ben's, etc. Thanks, Rob M
Rob Morrison Pigments and weathering powders are very similar so either should work. Dr Ben's and Bragdon's are hard to find over here so I've never used them. City dirt is a beige/grey. I prefer something a little warmer than a straight grey. You can also use grated pastels which cone in a huge range of colours.

I think putting a Tardis inside that building would be an improvement. Something where a person looks at it the you have a "hang on a moment is that the bloody Tardis" moment and they look again. Anyway I think it would be cool, if your not a Dr Who fan I guess it would probably suck.
Always disappointed in the camera work on your channel. Why not close ups of the roofs all the way through? Even at the end as soon as we got close it zoomed out and there was hardly any zoom in the rest of the time.
@@briandunning2974 I’m trying to up my game with every new video. This year I’ve invested in better cameras, lens, microphones and lighting. Hopefully you will see a difference!
@@KathyMillatt Excellent Kathy. There’s a couple of channels I watch where you never see the person, just their work up very close and can see the difference each brush stroke makes. For some of your videos I’d recommend that but not all. Glad to hear you’re aiming high. I shall certainly keep watching.

It certainly has always worked well for me. It's easier than using tissue which is so fragile.

Kevin, isn't that what I've done? I've followed the Walthers moulded lines and the pitch is towards the back.

On a residential building, it would be a great idea. There may be a phone wire going in here later but only when I wire the dock up.
