Well done Tim you transformed a rather clean house and added some dirt and grime to it and you did it in a way that others can learn from you great job.

Well Tim, I know you're a man of few words, but..... ;)
Such a simple, but very effective technique. Great work as always!

Great effect Tim. Haven't seen Vallejo pigments before. Are they easy to get hold of ? The Hornby powders seem to be thin on the ground as well. Regards Bobby 'T'.

      Hope your well.

Well done Tim 👍. The building is looking so much better just with the easy products shown, though it takes a professional like you to get some super effects. Where about's this building going on Exeter & Laira? GWR

Thanks for the kind words. These buildings are the 4 bungalows that over look the station car park at the north end. Finishing touches.

Well, that was inspiring. I have not seen that method before and the good thing is, I think it is within my ability (not everything is).

Thanks Barry. Plenty of things both these methods will work on if you split them up. The Vallejo pigments are also great for creating kerb side dirt etc.
Pin wash is great to get any detail to pop. For finer detail work use a thinner brush.

I couldn't agree more they look absolutely fantastic 👍🏻 I use Metcalfe card kits and replace the roofs with layered paper strips from Scales scenes locked in with humbrol matt varnish. So I was wondering if you tip would work on my roof? Cheers Stevie 😎

Cheers Steve. Hard to say, if I was to test it I'd seal the roof fully with a spray acrylic varnish. Though the mixtures are fairly wet they do however dry alot quicker than water.
I did do my flat roofs on some of my scratch builds this way: painted grey. Sealed with humbrol spray varnish. Pigment work as in the video. Then pipette diluted acrylic grey paint over the lot. It didn't distort the card at all.
If in doubt build a test piece of roof and trial the methods.

Amazing skills. I do love watching your videos, but I do find the background music a bit unsettling.
