Its a water tower, nicely weathered for a finished kit. Will use the idea's for a few of my models which I never painted. Thanks.

I think it looks pretty good with the exception that it got all over the windows. This would be a good process with a bit more care.

Wow! great video, i've seen a bunch of channels out there, doing tutorials, but your videos are far more better than any out there, in my opinion. I am going to use this technique of weathering on my n scale buildings for my layout. And by the way your technique of making mountains is great! the toilet paper with water makes the texture on the mountains really realistic!

Where did you get the white color from? I couldn't find something like this anywhere.

Hi Martin, here I am again with a question for you about weathering. I've looked at all your tutorials with different techniques and they where a big help. Now I'm weathering a plastic kit of a engine house with two door. Nice model from Faller. I use two techniques: weathering with watercolors as described in this video. And then I start working with pastel chalkpowder. The results are good but..., how to fixate when finished? I've tried with matte spray from Ravell but all my beautiful stonework, especially the white/grey shades between the brickwork are gone after using the spray. What do you think? Shall I spray only after using the watercolors and use no fixation after using the dry chalks? Looking forward to your reply and..., many many thanks!!! With kind regards, Eveline

Hi Eveline! Good to hear you’re trying weathering. Well, any fixing spray will unfortunately reduce the effect from pastel chalks with like 50%. Spraying with a can will also give you a rather thick layer, which reduces the effect even more. I would probably use an acryllic or solvent based gray wash for the gray grout if the intention is to fix with varnish. In this video I don’t apply any fixing varnish, while I typically don’t handle the buildings once placed in the scenery, so fixing is not really neccesary.

Hi Martin, thank you very much for your quick reply! Now I know how to move on. I will keep on working with different techniques and stay away from fixing. The plastic model I'm currently working on is not fully assembled yet. For working with the watercolors that's fine. But I will, after reading your advise, first put everything together and then start with the pastel chalks to make it really, really nice. And then..., HANDS OFF :-))). Thanks again Martin. I'm looking forward to your next tutorial. Can you maybe sometime in the future tell something about a push and pull track? Ah, maybe that's to simple for your tutorials. But I am really interested since I have to work on a small space. 50 cm. wide, more like a bookshelf track. So, push and pull is my option. Sorry, I'm writing to much. Kind regards and greetings, Eveline @@marklinofsweden

If you used liquid soap for automatic dishwashers it will not foam.
