      I've only caught one out there in Rio Vista and it wasn't a keeper. 39 inches.

    Nice job! I just got my first Dino as well last month. Setting that hook and feeling the tug is one of the most exhilarating experiences I've had kayak fishing. Congrats again.

    That's awesome, Congrats. I grew up fishing sturgeon on the bay/sloughs. One word of warning, don't stringer the fish before measuring. If a Warden sees that you'll get popped.

      That's the first thing Adam does is measure the fish or whatever else he's catching. Great video.

      @@joerosa170 yet he didn’t, he put it on the stringer then measured it. Guess it really doesn’t matter anymore probably never be able to fish them again anyway. Sad really I more than likely won’t be able to pass on the tradition.

    I'm picking up a feelree lure 13.5 next week . Can't wait to do this. I also waited a long time and lots of overnight trips in my cuddy cabin before I caught my keeper sturgeon . Nice job and commentating was on point .

    Congratulations you did it all on your own. I caught my first sturgeon around 1978 a 74” from the bank with ghost / mud shrimp we got ourselves. Since then my largest 8’3” with a guide on the Columbia River. Any congratulations again.

    I hooked a dog fish in pugit sound with a barbed hook on my kayak damn near flipped my vessel trying to UN-hook recommend barbless hooks.

    In Australia we call ghost shrimp yabbies . Good bait for many types of fish . Great vid keep it up

      My granddad made a spread that's awesome. Smoked sturgeon with egg and green onion to taste then food processor it(not too smooth), eat on Ritz crackers

    Until this I thought Sturgeon were endangered, that's why they harvest their eggs then release them for caviar. Interesting video for sure. Great job

      They used to be but due to a size regulation to keep them they have made a great recovery in the sf bay area and the delta and even the Sacramento River. These fish are caught now all the way up the sac river to redding.

    Don't need an exact location but can you catch ghost shrimp in the same beaches where you find sand crabs? And where along the beach like where the water comes up to and do you have to go in low tide? Fiiiiishhh oohhhnnn

    Very nice video. Shrimp marks in sand are called "dimples" same as for razor clams. Lobster gloves for digging? Nice music with drone shots. Who's doing the drone work? Congrats on your 1st; I'm sure it's not your last.

    How do you read tides and waves to know when its safe to kayak out there?

      There are tidal Apps you can download on your phone, I use "Tides Near Me," you can also look up buoy markers which convey similar info. I'm in the same are here as Die Hard & Fisherman's Life

      Yes there are many sites that have swell forecasts and tide charts. I always check those before heading out!

      Sure you can! I turned mine twice after it spooled me twice. 6’-/1”,135lbs. from the alameda rock wall. This was approx. 35years ago. I regret not letting it go.
