  • After over 200 attempts, Tony got his dockstart dialed and is now able to pump back to the dock! His goal was to get it by age 65, so now he has to come up with another goal, what's next for Tony?

Me 62, gives me at least three years. The trick at this age is don’t stop. Will start this winter; it’ll keep me warm.

Great informative and inspirational video, many thanks. Since last year started wingfoiling next to kitesurfing, this year i'm more wingfoiling than kitesurfing 😁, committed to become better in wingfoiling, goal is to ride waves, bought even a dedicated wave riding board. Your videos have instructional, fun, inspiring. Thank you🤙

Just curious as to what Tony weighs. I`m 72 and 60 kg, and I`m looking at getting a DW board to get out in lighter conditions with my wing. Would the 105L board Tony is using be too big for me? Is there any disadvantage to using a bigger rather than a smaller board? Thanks

Tony weights just under 70kg. The board he uses is the 105L wingfoilprocenter.com/products/kt-ginxu-dragonfly-downwind-foilboard#&gid=1&pid=1
It's better to go slightly bigger rather than smaller, those boards are so efficient even the bigger sizes work so well!

Thanks Damien, I think I`ll be going for the 105L as well then. The extra volume and width should help my progress. Love you videos! Keep them coming!

Hey Guys, just wondering, is there a verb to describe the action of the wing re-loading (re-luffing) between pumps? E.g. at 6:40 in this video, Tony's wing is successfully re-loading before his next pump, although just barely, as one can see the reverse-winding effect pushing on the leeward side. With this verb I am imagining, one could say, "I had (or perhaps didn't have) enough wind to my wing between pumps". Make sense? Because, I feel like when there is zero wind, my wing fails to . Thanks! -Stuart

Good point! That's why we always describe the wing pumping technique more as a circular motion and not an out and back. The circular motion allows keep air in your wing between each pull, if that makes sense. Where the out and back motion makes the canopy flap without generating much power

Why all the references to age? Fitness is the only constraint! I'm older than this chap, but this isn't affecting my capability!
