I had butterflies watching this. Going through those thick clouds seemed as if everything was lost and you could just smack into a mountain with no heads up. Your the man!
This was my first time launching in high altitudes, the wing certainly behaved differently at 13,000 feet trying to launch. The winds were a bit squirrely and about 45 degrees cross to the slope we launched from, and the slope was very steep making for poor footing on the pebble sized volcanic rock. I attempted about 5 reverse launches, but each time I turned the wing just fell back. Afterwards I switched to a forward launch and got off on the first attempt.
Very nice vid and flight, I am planning a flying trip to Guatemala this winter. Any chance you could provide some background re. logistics? For example how did you get to that launch?
Looks awesome man.. I've always wanted to try something like that. But I always have a little fear for strong winds and clouds. How where conditions at take-off? was it very difficult?
WOW, to get a round of applause from golfers after landing on their fare-way, now that's a first. Great flight Buddy.

Awesome. Amazing views of the volcano. Thanks for sharing.
The place we were staying organized all of the logistics. We chartered a helicopter and flew from the La Reunion Golf Course to the summit.

Thanks. I wouldn't say it's hard. But it certainly takes time to learn and be proficient and understand the risks involved.
Mágico vuelo!
